  1. It's not my fault your sign is misleading - it is YOURS.
  2. I ran across a fun little Q-and-A style article I wrote back in 2012, and thought I'd share it with y'all. It's an interview with Ted Arnold, the current owner and one of the founders of Pinball Pete's, the arcade in East Lansing and Ann Arbor. Pinball Pete's, both the East Lansing and the short-lived Frandor locations, were my video game and pinball hangout. It was awesome to talk to Ted, and learn how three young brothers ended up starting an arcade. You'll also learn some of the "secrets" like why the pink elephant logo, and who was Pete exactly? Here is the PDF version of the article, straight from my website. I hope you enjoy it! Cheers, Smeg
  3. From the post-screening panel for "Man vs. Snake: The Long and Twisted Tale of Nibbler."
  4. Saw this infographic and thought I'd share. Remember Nascar on the Atari? Looks a bit repetitive on this vid! Source
  5. Unfortunately due to current personally financial issues, I am forced to now get rid of my collection of rare and not rare video game soundtracks as well as some of my other music CDs which I have had some of these for over 15 years... Anyways if you are interested, here is the links to my Amazon store and Ebay Store: Ebay Store http://www.ebay.com/usr/kainchild?_trksid=p2047675.l2559 Amazon.com Store http://www.amazon.com/sp?_encoding=UTF8&asin=B000EWBCQ0&isAmazonFulfilled=0&isCBA=&marketplaceID=ATVPDKIKX0DER&orderID=&seller=A1R8H2BHTED8ZT&tab=&vasStoreID= I could not post all of my CDs on Ebay due to the limit it puts on new accounts so I am attaching zip files showing the CDs I could not post on Ebay. All sales of these CDs will be done through Ebay as I will empty up one CD for another as per requests placed on here. Game CDs.zip Game CDs 2.zip Game CDs 3.zip

  7. So an interesting article on black appeance reproduction in video games. Are black hairstyles in video games really all the hard to do technically speaking? http://kotaku.com/the-natural-the-trouble-portraying-blackness-in-video-1736504384
  8. As we know the month of October brings one thing to your mind. Halloween, haunted houses, hayrides, and fall season. What games do you really enjoy playing during this time of the year? As for me I have a bunch. I enjoy the Castlevania series of course. The original is a true classic, Simon's Quest delivers a great RPG style adventure, and Dracula's Curse is my favorite of the series and my second all time favorite NES game. Castlevania 4 is another outstanding one. Splatterhouse on the TG-16 would be considered my favorite to play during this time of the year. It is an outstanding port of the arcade version, it truly is a Halloween themed game, and the haunting music and soundtrack really deliver. And for pre crash. I have to go with Haunted House for the 2600. It is best played with the lights out and truly gives an eerie experience. Share with us on which are your favorites?

  11. So this is a computer game and its called The Next Game Master. I just wanted to get fellow retro gamers feedback on this. I am in the process of coding it now and its a little more than half way done. Using a combination of NES, SNES, and Genesis ROMS & Emulators, it is a game for up to 8 players with 6 Rounds of challenges and then a final gauntlet round. Throughout these 6 rounds, you need to win challenges to earn points. After 6 rounds, points are tallied and the players are entered into a Gauntlet, with the first place player playing last. Here is a video of how it works for the most part: ROUND TRIVIA QUESTION Round 1: "I" in Team 2 Players play with AND/OR against each other to earn up to 3 points After the points are awarded, the scoreboard comes up ROUND TRIVIA QUESTION Round 2: Challenger 2 players play the same game individually to see who scores more points in it. ROUND TRIVIA QUESTION Round 3: Boss Fight Eeach player plays their own game to see if they can defeat the boss. ROUND TRIVIA QUESTION Round 4: Head 2 Head 2 players compete simultaneously in a coop game where the one with the most points at the end will earn points. ROUND TRIVIA QUESTION Round 5: Survival players play their own game to see if they can beat a certain level. ROUND TRIVIA QUESTION Round 6: Versus players compete 1 on 1 in a fighting game Gauntlet Round: Points are then tallied and ranked and the Gauntlet ROund begins. THe lower ranked players must defeat the next highest player to keep moving up until they play the #1 ranked player. Then in a Best of 5 Series of challenges, players compete in challenges to finally determine who is the Next Game Master! I played this with a group of friends and they loved it. Again, I just wanted to put this out there and see what you all think!
  12. Hello again, y’all! I’ll need INTELLIVISION game controller overlays (or (at least) the graphics files for those by that guy from England...), as I plan to get myself an INTELLIVISION (or (preferrably) a rare TUTORVISION) video game console to convert it to an ULTIMATE INTELLIVISION FLASHBACK unit (with a Raspberry Pi 2B+ and extra ports...). Please send PAIRS (preferrably 2 PAIRS) of overlays (or the package of graphics files for those), as I’ll be needing them for use with my new ULTIMATE INTELLIVISION FLASHBACK console. I’ll also be updating content on the INTELLIVISION Archival Materials Thread on the AtariAge Forums. Thank You!

After doing your overlay design, select ALL the separate elements, and select GROUP to reconnect them into a SINGLE item. 19. Hey everyone. Ive been working on my new video game channel on YouTube for a little while now and wanted to share that with this forum. Most of my videos are Atari 8 Bit related ( hence the name ). But I also try to include games from other consoles that I collect. Some of the systems I collect and you may find on the channel include the Atari 2600, 5200, 7800, 8 bit computer line, NES , SNES, Gameboy, Genesis, and any other system that is cartridge based. Each week I do at least 2 videos. - One based called "The Gaming Moment Back In Time" which focuses on a game from my collection that either I grew up playing and enjoyed or something Ive added to my collection and has been overall a big hit to play. - The other video is my Thursday pick up video that covers all the finds Ive picked up from flea markets, garage sales, eBay, Atari Age,or other gaming forums. The channel can be found here : http://www.youtube.com/user/atarian83 I hope you all will enjoy these videos and like usual it's a learning process for me. Feel free to subscribe, like, comment or share personal memories of the games featured.
