  1. Impressive stuff. Only rendering with 1 CPU currently and there are many optimizations that can be done!
  2. The original arcade version that is? I just can't seem to get this thought out of my mind. I mean Space Harrier, Afterburner, Virtua Racing, Virtua Fighter, Mortal Kombat II, and NBA Jam TE were all near direct arcade ports to the 32x. I wonder if it would be relatively easy or if it would take a team hundreds of hours to make it happen. Anyone with any technical knowledge or coding background have any insight on this? Thanks, and going to keep dreaming in the meantime.

  4. Hello, I am selling off many items from my collection. I will not be taking a bath on shipping charges (I've made that mistake before), so be prepared to pay full shipping. I use USPS, and I know shipping charges have been high, but that's true for everyone. Unfortunately, video games cannot be shipped with Media Mail. Everything has been tested and works. USA sales only! (sorry). I reserve the right to refuse any sales. Also, I have a day job, and while I can make a trip to the Post Office most days, please be patient while I safely prepare your packages and get them shipped out. EDIT: Adding 32X. You'll have a hard time finding these games in better condition, all of them are spectacular. Toughman Contest has some sunfading on the outer box, but still in great shape overall. 32X: -After Burner $90 https://atariage.com/forums/gallery/image/35225-32xafterburnerjpg/ -DOOM $25 https://atariage.com/forums/gallery/image/35226-32xdoomjpg/ -Primal Rage $90 https://atariage.com/forums/gallery/image/35229-32xprimal-ragejpg/ -Toughman Contest $25 https://atariage.com/forums/gallery/image/35232-32xtoughmanjpg/ EDIT: Adding Sega Genesis. It is alphabetized, with direct links to the pictures next to the game and $Price. There are some big ticket items in here, everything is legit, I do not deal in counterfeit games! I bought these games well before the Chinese were making knock-offs, so feel secure that my games are originals. Namely, M.U.S.H.A. Some games have rental stickers or damaged labels etc...I have adjusted down the price accordingly. 5. This is the first teaser trailer for the 2017 launch of the rare Surgical Strike game for the SEGA 32X CD. This is the rarest 32X game, with a big controversy about it's launch, restricted to Brazil in very (very) limited quantities. Stay tuned for more info about the details of this great release.
  6. I don't play my 32X games any more so I'm selling them. Make offers on anything you want. I know I hate it when people say that, but I truly don't know how to price these things. Here is a list of games I have (I'm keeping my 32X system in case I ever get back in the mood for this) Golf 36 Great Holes Metal Head Motocross NFL QB Club Toughman Contest Virtua Fighter Aand a few extra stuff: Sega Saturn - True Pinball Nokia N-Gage - FIFA 2005 Nokia N-Gage - MLB Slam! Nokia N-Gage - Virtua Tennis - no writing on spine! NES - Shadowgate PS1 - Mega Man 8
  7. When I was recording these games I was surprised by how well some translated to an 8 bit system such as Mortal Kombat & Road Rash, while others probably should not have been released like Altered Beast. What are some of your favorite ports between Sega cartridge consoles? Here is every game compared in 1 video: Here is each game individually:
  8. So I've got 32X once again and my life is filled with the joy of 32-bit power and Virtua things, but I can't help but wonder if I could get a slightly better picture out of my 32X with a nice thickly shielded composite cable instead of the el-cheapo generic Genesis Model 2 composite cable I have been using. I definitely don't want to drop a ton of money on a SCART cable and RGB converter box, I'm perfectly happy with using composite on my 480i CRT TV (though my TV does have component inputs too so that would be an option if there was an affordable component cable out there that does 480i), I was just wondering if anyone knows of a good Genesis 2 / 32X composite cable that's a bit more heavy duty and more nicely shielded than the generic ones you find on eBay? I had looked at Retro-Bit's Genesis 2 / 32X composite cable on Amazon but a couple reviewers mentioned that it doesn't actually output proper stereo sound, so I thought I'd ask around here for other recommendations. Any advice would be be appreciated.
  9. I've been keeping my eye out for a Sega CD Model 2 in nice display quality condition that has been refurbished by cleaning all the old dried up grease out of the gear train and regreasing the gears, cleaning the laser assembly, and any other maintenance necessary so it works perfectly. The reason I got rid of my old Sega CD is that it was always finicky and skipped a lot even after cleaning, and I really don't want to go through that again with my next one. It would be nice if the grounding plate and screw was included but I can live without it if it isn't, the only accessory it must include is an OEM power supply. I'm also looking for a Sega 32X in nice display quality condition, with the Genesis Model 2 spacer, connector cable, and OEM power supply included. I'm flexible on the price but just to give a baseline I'm looking to pay around $150 for the Sega CD and $100 for the 32X. Thanks for taking the time to view my ad and just shoot me a PM if you're interested in selling.
  10. Since the site this hack was was originally hosted on is no longer in existence and this game definitely deserves to be preserved, I give you JagDoom 32X for NTSC Sega 32X systems. It takes the original 32X Doom and adds in all the previously missing levels from the Atari Jaguar version of Doom as well as the BFG 9000 weapon. To check out the new levels ported from the Jaguar version of Doom just select Level 16 from the title menu and enjoy! You can play JagDoom 32X with an EverDrive on real hardware and if you have the skills to burn it to a 32X PCB then this hack will fit, since the game was kept to 4.2 MB in size. If anyone here does have the equipment to burn the ROM to a PCB then please let me know, since I'd love to have a real physical copy of the version of Doom that 32X owners should have gotten back in the day. Anyhoo, here ya go! JagDoom 32X (NTSC).zip
  11. Hey Guys! I love the Sega Genesis and it has always been one of my favorite consoles. I've owned a Sega Genesis for a few years now and have a decent amount of games. Lately, I've been feeling a bit curious and also conflicting with myself on buying a Sega CD or 32X. Are they just things you get for novelty sake? Will I actually have fun with them? If so, what games should I pick up?
  12. Hello, This project is a visual tool for making visual novels for the Sega 32X. It uses Blockly as a visual editor; the design is then used to generate a C file, which is then compiled into a playable Sega 32X ROM. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dh5M_RHXBfg The current release is version 0.4.0 GitHub page: https://github.com/haroldo-ok/BlocklyVN32X Topic on SpritesMind: http://gendev.spritesmind.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=2409
  13. Hello, again, I have just ported the Ren'py sample script named "The Question" to BlocklyVN32X. ROM version 0.1.0: https://github.com/haroldo-ok/the-question-vn32x/releases/download/v0.1.0/the.question.0.1.0.32x Project source: https://github.com/haroldo-ok/the-question-vn32x It has some input lag problems, but seems to be running fine otherwise. the question 0.1.0.zip
  14. This is the link to my auction for my Genesis, 32x and games. http://www.ebay.com/itm/-/192323334422?roken=cUgayN&soutkn=Ypmxlm Let me know if you have any questions.
  15. TL;DR: 32X working but either needs new cable or has loose port. Includes games: Virtua Fighter, Motocross, Metalhead, Metalhead (duplicate), Doom, Tempo, Cosmic Carnage, Virtua Racing, Star Wars. $115 (plus shipping) or best offer. PM me with offer and zip code. TL;TTTTR: (Taking The Time To Read) I am looking to sell my Sega 32x and games, but honestly I'm not even sure what it's all worth. It looks like "untested" 32x consoles with nothing (no power or cables) are being sold for about $17, while tested and including cables are selling for around $60. Games are going for around $16 to $50. So I am think my 32x may be worth around $25, and maybe $10 per cartridge? In my mind that would bring the worth around $115 (plus shipping). But I would ask, if you are interested, to make me an offer. What is this worth to you? If you are interested, you can PM me with your offer long with your zip code so I can calculate the exact shipping for you. Why do I want to sell? When I look at my collection, I see that over the last several years I have put far more effort and time into my Atari consoles than my Sega console. At this point I actually have more Sega games on the Wii virtual console than I have ever owned for the Genesis. I feel like if I spend any more time and money on games, I want to support the 7800 and Jaguar homebrews rather than build up my Sega 32x collection. My feelings about my Genesis are - conflicted. I love it, but here's the thing. I spent an inordinate amount of time a few years back looking for a copy of Starflight before I found one, and last year I found a copy of NFL '94 - both of these games I have not been able to find in emulation or the Wii VC. So, part of me thinks I should at least hold onto the Genesis just for those games, and maybe in the future I'll add others which I either can not emulate or find in the Wii VC. (Is there a way to get Starflight and NFL '94 on emulation? I'd love to speak to others who have these games working.) So where does that leave me? I don't really know. I think I want to keep the Genesis for now along with my 2 games, but at this point I am no longer interested in building up a 32x collection and I have decided to let go of my 32x and games. What is the condition of the 32x? While my Sega Genesis model 2 works perfectly and I have never had any issues with it, the 32x either needs a new cable or the port is loose. When I play a game with the 32x console attached to the Genesis, the game plays fine but if you tap the console or move the console or if my cat gets a little rambunctious with my console, the game goes out and resets. The Genesis alone doesn't do that. But as long as nothing touches the console while playing, the 32x plays just fine. These are the 32x games I have. They are all clean and working. Virtua Fighter Motocross Metalhead Metalhead (duplicate) Doom Tempo Cosmic Carnage Virtua Racing Star Wars The pictures show my Genesis and 32x, but for now only the 32x, 32x connecting cable, 32x power supply and 32x games are for sale. A photo of the 32x games is also included.
  16. Looking at getting an everdrive. I see the latest will play Genesis, SMS, and 32x games. Is there a version that will do Sega CD games?
  17. For trade here is my own Sega 32X. I bought it on a whim last January, but I can't really justify owning one given how few games there are, the pain of having it hooked up with my Genesis/Sega CD at the same time, and how it forces me to use composite instead of the component that my Genesis has been modded for. I'm better off just trading this and emulating the 36 games it has. Works fine, I had no issues with it. Here's my trade interests: INTV games (Tower of Doom, Thunder Castle, Hoverforce, Slam Dunk Basketball, Slap Shot Hockey, Pac Man) AV Modded Light Sixer VCS Atari VCS Homebrew/Repro carts Mario Bros for Atari XE Good, loose original B/W GB or GBA games NEW ITEMS: Here is a CIB Wico Bat Handle I bought NIB. Great condition, works perfectly, has controller, box, cardboard insert, and manual. Here is a CIB Saturn Pro Action Replay, lets you play import games on your Saturn, is a memory backup, and works as a 4MB RAM cart. Last is a loose copy of Phantasy Star IV for the Genesis. More items coming soon.

My collection of Sega Genesis models with Add-ons
  19. I am looking to add primal rage to my collection shortly. It is VERY expensive for the Jaguar CD, and is best played with the pro controllers. Because of this I've been thinking of snagging it on another platform possibly. I was thinking the 32x edition might compare more favorably than the SNES/Genesis ports. Also Genesis 6 button controllers are easier to come by, and I don't feel bad tearing them up with fighting games, whereas I'd be more apt to not use Pro Controllers for a fighting game that will put lots of hard use on them. What are your thoughts on the 32x Primal Rage vs the Jaguar CD game? Any other ports I should be considering that are good adaptations of the arcade game? Thanks. I have been reading the Jag V. 32x post, which is excellent, but doesn't quite answer these questions within the greater picture of prices and rarity today. http://atariage.com/forums/topic/107368-jaguar-vs-32x/?hl=%20primal%20%20rage%20%20vs%20%2032x
  20. I am about to plug a 32x into my model 1. I often use the headphone jack at night on my genesis model one so as not to wake the house. If I have a 32x plugged in, will I still be able to use the jack (to listen to both 32x and Genesis games plugged into the 32x unit)? Or am I better off getting sound from my TV or receiver via the Genesis 2 av cables? I also noticed that sound from the headphone jack has a reasonable amount of background noise compared to getting it from the receiver (from the same source!-that is to say I plug the headphone jack into the "aux in" on my Sony Surround sound amp. I'm thinking this is because most modern receivers have built in Noise Reduction technology for any analog signals it receives. Has anyone else noticed this? Lastly I have seen cables that connect the headphone jack and genesis to the 32x. Are these necessary? Isn't true stereo for both 32x and Genesis games coming out of the back of the 32x via the Genesis 2 AV cables? Thanks

A few months ago, I was unemployed, broke, and needed money for medical bills. I sold off many things including my Sega 32x complete with power supply, model 2 connector cable and model 2 spacer. Now I am employed again and my bills are caught up. I miss my 32x. If you have one in working condition and maybe were thinking about giving it up, I would be most happy. PM me and name your price!
  22. Today, Hal Hawkins, the owner, creator, and director of the On Fire! Championships, announced its first inaugural NBA Jam championship tournament to debut this October 4 at the Hilton in College Station, TX. The tournament will consist of a 1v1 Championship open to 256 entries and a 2v2 Championship open to 128 teams. The tournament will feature the game NBA Jam T.E. for the Super Nintendo System and will be played in HD on large, flat screen TVs and a massive, championship projection screen. “I have always dreamed of having a large and fun tournament for this game since first playing it 20 years ago,” said Hawkins. “The love of retro games, especially NBA Jam, continues to exist among millions of people today. As a businessman, gamer, and former college athlete, I want make sure this event is of the highest quality, competitive, and rewarding. I want everyone to enjoy the game as much as I do and come compete in this tournament for many years to come.” The tournament will include a cash purse for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places in both Championships and “The Flame”, a tall, flame-shaped trophy in honor of the game’s trademark feature, which is awarded to each Champion. 23. Hi, everyone! I've got a complete Sega system that I'd be interested in trading for a TurboDuo, or maybe a Jaguar CD, perhaps a PS3 with some extras, or maybe even an Atari 5200 and cash or other incentives. If you have something you think might interest me, feel free to make an offer! Here's what I'm offering in addition to the Genesis (model 2), Sega CD add-on (model 2), and Sega 32X add-on: 1 Genesis controller, 1 Genesis-to-32X cable, 1 RF cable (also works with Playstation and SNES/N64/Gamecube). Also included is a custom power supply that powers all 3 units! You originally had to have 3 separate AC/DC adapters all plugged into the wall to power these systems, but this custom-made power supply eliminates clutter and lets you use only one outlet! Sweet! I am including the game "Golf Magazine Presents 36 Great Holes Starring Fred Couples" for the Sega 32X. I am also including Night Trap (32x edition) for the Sega CD. PLEASE NOTE: this is only a COPY, no the original; I am providing it simply so you can verify the functionality of the Sega CD unit. Let me know if you have any questions!
  24. I'm looking for a reasonably priced Sega CD, I don't mind a system that need fixing, but I'd like to know what is broken before hand.
