  1. I wouldn't want to go back to the old days, but I do miss the thrill of the hunt.
  2. So here's a great deal that just popped up on Humble Bundle! It's the Nintendo Indie game bundle! Available through the Nintendo eShop for the WiiU and 3DS. It's pay what you want with the charity bit as always. (I assume most people have done a Humble Bundle before...) Current games available are: -Pay What You Want- Guacamelee! Super Turbo Championship Edition (WiiU) Woah Dave! (3DS) Mighty Switch Force! (3DS) -Pay At Least $10- Stealth Inc 2 (WiiU) Steam World Dig (WiiU and 3DS) -Pay More Than The Average- (Currently $9.24) The Fall (WiiU) OlliOlli (WiiU and 3DS) Moon Chronicles: Episode 1 (3DS) More Games Coming Soon! These are all the current titles you can get for the meager price of $10! You are welcome to pay more to give more to charity, or you can pay less and not get everything there. It's a really great deal, and I can tell you that Guacamelee! alone is worth a few dollars and your time. A metroidvania with a Latino twist. (You're a Luchador... It's pretty awesome.) In case you missed the link up above... Here's another one! ---> HUMBLE BUNDLE!
  3. In case anyone who in interested isn't tracking... The 3DS, (specifically the New 3DS) has recently gotten ports of Stella, Prosystem, Handy, O2EM, Virtual Jaguar, 4DO, and more via RetroArch/LibRetro. Emulation of these systems run full speed: 2600 7800 Lynx Vectrex Odyssey2 Game & Watch Near full speed: CPS3 Interesting, but not fast enough to be considered playable: 3DO Jaguar These are not yet part of the official build, but can be found in posts by MrHuu in the thread at gbatemp. He plans to make a separate thread at some point, but as of the time of this posting, the builds are posted at page 270 (Stella, Vectrex, & Prosystem), page 273 (Handy, O2EM, VirtualJaguar, & 4DO), page 275 (Game & Watch), and page 279 (CPS3). MrHuu also posted a playlist generator here. Also interesting is that on a New 3DS (not XL), the screen size when set to "integer" is exactly the same as the screen size on a real Lynx.
  4. The 3DS is obviously very popular and been out long enough to have a list of Hidden Gems for it. Here are 8 Nintendo 3DS games that are Hidden Gems that you will want to check out! Game Shown: Heroes of Ruin Azure Striker Gunvolt Pac-Man and Galaga Dimensions Ghost Recon: Shadow Wars James Noir's Hollywood Crimes Pilotwings Resort Frogger 3D CrossWords Plus I would love to know what other "hidden gems" you recommend on the 3DS, both retail releases and perhaps digital eShop games.

  6. I was wondering if any 3DS owners are looking forward to end of year games or anything upcoming that they are, without a doubt, going to purchase. I've been going and picking up titles that have been released already (Zelda: The Link Between Worlds and Kirby: Triple Deluxe are my latest two), but what about in the near future? How about the Mario & Luigi game upcoming with Paper Mario? The new Legend of Zelda: Triforce Heroes sparking any interest? How about Indie games? And if anyone picked up Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer, what are your thoughts on that? It's been "so so" for me, not crazy with it but still enjoy picking it up once in awhile and working on new designs for the town or animal folk. I wasn't overly excited about it after I started playing around with it. Probably because my designer qualifications are way below par. And the Amiibo Cards craze seems to wipe out my local stores' stocks in a matter of days. Didn't I go through this with the Amiibo figures? So anyway, let me know what you plan on getting in the near future so I also may consider it. Thanks for your input.
  7. The NX is imminent, right around the corner and most of us agree here on AtariAge that it's release date will be this year, most likely near the holiday season (November a a potential target month). So, this being the case, what are your plans for your 3DS? Right around the release of a new system I'm curious as to what folks here do with their old systems. There will be some more games released for it, perhaps another two years depending on Nintendo's plans, but of course there will be less and less as time goes on. Not that there aren't tons of games already available to fill up everyone's libraries that's planning on doing that. Are you going to continue to get games for it or scrap it, trade it or get credit for it, toward the new NX? Are you going to wait to see how the NX fairs over a period of time? What I find disheartening is Nintendo most likely has very little in plans for releasing "exclusive" titles for the new 3DS, an idea that will most likely take a back seat to development of the NX. Every single time something is coming down the pike, it leaves a question in my mind regarding what you're playing now and what you plan to do with it after the new hardware is in the stores with it's new gaming lineup. I doubt very seriously there will be a scarcity of games for the 3DS for awhile, so will you start trying to get those games that are still being manufactured before they end up on Epay? Conversation is appreciated and thoughts welcome, as always. Being a fairly "new" 3DS owner (again...long story), I plan to continue to purchase games for it as long as I can and as long as they're around retail stores. Then of course, I'll probably come here to see if folks have some for sale.
  8. Article: Here's step by step directions on how to transfer or copy a Mii from your Wii U to the Nintendo Switch. This will allow you to use a pre-made Mii for you Nintendo Switch user icon. What you'll need: Wii U Nintendo Switch amiibo of your choice ON THE WII UTurn on your Wii U, login to the user's profile that has the Mii you want to transfer, and go to System Settings. Go to amiibo Settings, then hit Register Owner and Nickname. Touch the amiibo to the GamePad as directed. Change the Owner if needed then hit save. Touch the amiibo to the GamePad again to register the owner. ON THE NINTENDO SWITCHHop over to your Nintendo Switch and load up the System Settings. Scroll down to User then select Add New user. Once you're given the prompt to choose an icon scroll to the Mii tile and click hit. Choose Create New Mii, then select Copy Mii from amiibo. Grab the amiibo you used before and touch it to the NFC touchpoint on the right Joy-Con. Your amiibo should be successfully copied. After it's transferred from the amiibo you can customize the Mii's pose, expression, and completely edit the original Mii. Original Article: http://www.ign.com/wikis/nintendo-switch/How_to_Copy_a_Mii_from_the_Wii_U_to_Nintendo_Switch This was helpful as I wasn't sure how to do this. Not sure what they are doing with the Mii's in the Switchverse, but I've had mine for 10 years now and needless to say i'm a little attached to it.
  9. I will have extremely limited access to AtariAge from July 11 to August 7. If you direct a question at me on the forms or PM me, it is highly unlikely I will be able to reply. Hello everyone! I've got a few things for sale. I can accept trades too! Make me an offer: I'm looking for Neo Geo MVS games and SNES essentials especially. See my signature for wanted thread link! Buyer pays all shipping costs. If you want I can ship at any USPS shipping speed (Priority, 2 Day, Overnight, etc.) if you want to pay for it. All prices are negotiable a bit, or buy a bunch to save on shipping and get a bundle deal! Pics upon request. Here is my AtariAge feedback. I'm relatively new here, so only a bit: http://atariage.com/forums/topic/248558-kreatorkat/ I've currently got some games and cables for sale, highlighted by an N64 Console. 2600: Warlords cart only- $4. Cart great condition. Front label great, a small amount of fading on end label. NES: Silent Service- $4. Cart in great condition! Jordan vs. Bird 1 on 1- $2. This one is in pretty bad condition. There is wear on the label, but it is not ripped. The cartridge itself is a little dirty, could use a cleaning. The game does work, but if you're using a toaster NES that doesn't have its lockout chip disabled, as with many NES carts, you need to try a few times. N64: California Speed- $6. Nice condition, label slightly worn, but just barely. Looks fine really, just mentioning it. Top Gear Overdrive- $5. Front label is ever so slightly worn, but back label is slightly torn at the top. Black Console- $28 Sale This Week (till next Sunday) Only! Console works perfectly, decent condition but could use a small cleaning. Comes with Jumper Pack! No cords or controllers, but if you would like I do have N64 composite cables for sale below and a couple of controllers in bad condition I might be willing to part with. No expansion slot lid, but to be honest I prefer the look of no lid if you purchase an expansion pack, which is a necessary accessory IMHO. SNES: Family Feud- $5. Label has some wear in a few places. PS2: Breakin' Da Rules (CiB)- $5. Box has a bit of wear all around but very nice. Disk and manual are great. Wii: The Amazing Race (original disk, manual, and art, fake case)- $4. Manual and disk perfect, box not perfect. NBA 2K11 (CiB)- $6- Manual and disk perfect, box great with some residue on spine. Accessories: Adapter to replace your RF switch box! Similar to the ones in the Atariage store, provides convince and a slightly better picture- $2. Works, nothing else to it lol. Radioshack RF switch box- $3. Works, nothing else to it lol. All AV cables and Nintendo switchboxes $3 (all official)- -XBox 360 AV -SNES/N64/GC AV -NES/SNES RF box (also works with Genesis) -Genesis RF box (also works with NES/SNES) Thats all for now, Thanks! KreatorKat
  10. Hello everybody, today I have a simple question: what's your favorite mario party game: 1 through 10? Actually, its more complex than that. It would be cool to hear two answers: what is your favorite game, including biases like your first mario party, a favorite gaming party or experience, etc, as well as which game you believe is all around the best, unbiased. I personally had the most fun with Mario Party 8 because it was my first even though some other entries in the series were way better. I'm exited to hear your answers!
  11. Well, here I sit, and after watching some more videos and reading reviews (and playing the demo), I have to say I'm intrigued enough to actually want to add this game to my library. I know the title is more of an "observe" than actually fully participate, but I have to say the interactions of the various Mii's looks interesting, in a weird sort of way. I'm not exactly sure what the appeal is to me at this point, perhaps it's just to own the title that some folks are raving about, but it might be a nice change to have a game of this type. It seems the sales of this game are actually doing quite well for only being out a month. Anyone here have this title, either for their kids or for themselves? What about the QR codes to obtain more Mii's? Seems famous actors can be incorporated onto your island. Short spurts of game play or long sessions? And how many of you that own this are still playing, or did you lose interest and move on to something else? The price tag (at Gamestop, anyway) is $40.00 for the most part, although Best Buy seems to be selling it for $35.00. Did you get your money's worth out of it or did you regret buying it? Did you try the demo and did that influence your decision? Sorry for all the questions, but most of you know I usually ask folks here for game-buying advice and it's helped in making a decision with some of the games over the years. Steve
  12. Okay, so once again I'm late to the party with the 3DS and the games that have been out for awhile now. However, I have to say Super Mario 3D Land is a pleasant romp with Mario once again, but so far seems rather easy. I'm already up to the 5 Worlds...and this usually never happens for me (case in point, Super Mario Bros on the Nintendo way back when..brutal for me, anyway). Anyone else find this game easy, beat it in a few days, never to play it again? Since we're on the subject, would the New Super Mario be another good title to get? I love the idea of coin collecting...any thoughts on this would be great to hear, as always. Steve
  13. Folks, After spending hours playing this game and getting my characters up to level 22, I heard tell that it's "not necessary" to grind for this game at all. I believe it was a review of the game itself that indicated "grinding" wasn't needed to be able to play through. I was a little taken aback about this, as some areas I've been to thus far required gaining a couple of additional levels to beat a particular boss. Since I'm an old-school Final Fantasy fan and player, I figured this game was very similar to that framework and grinding was just a part of it. I'm curious if folks out there that have played this needed to grind. Thoughts? Steve
  14. So, for those out there that collect for the 3DS, I was wondering how and what you collect for the system. I'm curious if you've collected bundles, individual systems from different areas of the world, specific game types, complete games, reduced price games, specific genres, etc. How do you protect your 3DS? Full body armor? Screen protectors? And lastly, how do you display your 3DS if you do so, or are you too busy playing to display it, or play one system and display your others? I have a nice, small collection of 3DS games now, and my 3DS is protected with Crystal Armor, and I bought extra styluses. What do you guys and gals do out there with your 3DS systems? Are you generally pleased with your collection or are you looking for the collectors items that Nintendo releases once in awhile? What are you looking forward to in the near future? Steve
  15. I'm looking for a complete in box copy of Bravely Default for the Nintendo 3DS. Willing to trade a complete copy of Tales of Symphonia for the Nintendo Gamecube (complete, instructions, case, manual). Pictures taken upon request. Disc(s) condition "good". Any details will provide via private message. Anyone interested contact me via PM. I'm trying to get the first game to complete my "Bravely" collection on my 3DS. I would like the case/paperwork, but can negotiate for just the cart, if that's all you have. Thanks for looking!
  16. ********PENDING******** Hey guys, I got these during a black Friday Sale because they were so cheap, and then realized I didn't have a 3DS So passing on the savings to the AA community. I'd imagine these would make a good Christmas gift for someone's kids. $9 + shipping. I'd imagine total will be less than $15.
  17. Hi everyone! Time for another posting of goodies for sale. Some of these are going to be really inexpensive... I plan on having $1 items, $2 items etc as well as some more normal priced items. I'll also have bundled items and of course, if you purchase a bunch of items, I'll try to make a deal. Let me know your thoughts. I want to make a minimum order of say $10 or more. Shipping will be actual postage price.. no handling fees or anything like that. One thing to note is that I am in Canada and shipping is sometimes high. At this point I am adding photos and will start adding the prices when I finish uploading the photos. And of course, without further delay... the items.... MegaMan NES $30 (only as I can get $40 in trade for it) Vic 20 Xonox Manual for Sir Lancelot $5 Metroid 2 promo keychain $5 Club Nintendo Playing Cards $5 Code of Princess 3DS - Game with artbook and CD soundtrack $25 5200 Manuals $1 each or the whole lot for $5 $2 items or $3 for 2 items Ok... that's all for now. 19. The 3DS eShop is a busy place for popular Nintendo franchises as well as cool indie games. I cut through the clutter to recommend 10 eShop Hidden Gems for your 3DS handheld! Games Shown: Gunman Clive AiRace Speed & Xeno Liberation Maiden Monster Shooter The Starship Damrey SteamWorld Dig: A Fistful of Dirt Aqua Moto Racing 3D Mighty Switch Force! 2 SkyPeace Undead Bowling What games should be in Part 2?
  20. Hey there guys and gals. I've been really enjoying my New 3DS XL but I sure wish I could play some of the older games that aren't in the eShop on it. Specifically I'd like to emulate Game Boy, Game Boy Color, Game Gear, and possibly Game Boy Advance if the New 3DS XL would be up to the task without lag. The problem I've been encountering though is that I can't seem to find much in the way of information on what emulators are available for the 3DS and how to run them off a flash cart without hacking the system in some way. All the popular methods of getting emulation running on the 3DS that I've stumbled across on GBATemp and similar sites seem to require some really complicated system hacking that's above my skill and understanding level to get running, and I sure don't want to risk getting banned from the 3DS eShop and online play by hacking my system. I've bought quite a few games from the eShop and there are a lot more eShop exclusives I'd like to purchase at some point, so I definitely wouldn't want to risk losing my eShop access due to system hacking. So what I was wondering is if there are any flash carts out there for the 3DS that are simple to set up and use and would let me emulate some older systems on my handheld of choice without any system hacking involved? I remember it being really easy to get emulation running off a flash cart on the old DS Lite and DSi so I was wondering if there was any similar option available for the 3DS? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

  22. Well, again I ask the masses here at AtariAge what their thoughts on the upcoming U.S. release of Fantasy Life for the 3DS. I have it pre ordered, since I've been doing heavy reviews of all the articles I can find online for the game since it was announced back at the beginning of the year. Seems to be a "variant" of Animal Crossing (which I already adore), maybe with some Tomodachi Life mixed in somewhere and The Sims sprinkled for good measure. The game is not due out until Mid to late October, and an "expansion pack" will be available from the eShop (for a fee, no less...not sure why they should charge extra for that) roughly at the same time. There seems to be many game elements mixed in, with tons of side quests available besides the main story line to keep folks busy for awhile. Level-5 Software does some great games, so this looks to be a hit. Is anyone out there in Atari Land getting this game when it's released, or are you skipping it for Smash Bros, or getting both? Do you think Nintendo should charge for the additional content, or include it in the game's release, or perhaps have it as a free download for the game owners? The job system is pretty similar to some well-known Final Fantasy games we are familiar with, but do you believe it will be a pain to keep switching back and forth to achieve certain goals? Combat elements and menial tasks also seem to go hand in hand...will the day to day drudgery of performing tasks bother you, or will you enjoy the diversity of game play? It seemed rather interesting during E3, watching the NintendpTreehouse folks demonstrate the game. Did anyone watch that particular footage (live or recorded), and if so, did that perk your interest? My only real wish is that if you pre order the game, you'd get the additional content for free, but that's just me. So, feel free to chime in and give me your opinions on this title when it's available next month. Steve
  23. I have been reading many spirited debates about the graphical power of the 3DS vs the PSP. While we all know that the Vita is graphicly superior to both, how do the 3DS and PSP stack up against each other? Please discuss...
