does anybody knows what the codes mean on the side of the starpath tapes? i dont mean the numbers 1 to 10 on the side if the boxes. the reason i asked i want sword saros and survival island but i see them on ebay with varous numbers. is there some logic to it? Alexander

I have been collecting for the emerson arcadia and its many clone systems for about 15-20 years. This is such an interesting system to collect for as it is probably the system with the most clone systems out there. And its origin is probably one of the most mysterious. I have been documenting the clones and at last count there are 43 different versions of this system that at best was not at all popular. And the strangest thing about it is that most of the clones had their own set of the games in their own unique packaging. Many of the same games were available on multiple clones but some of them had exclusive games to that particular clone. And in the usa we only got 22 of the 55 known unique titles total that got released across all the different systems. While the games are all compatible rom wise, between the 43 versions there are 5 different cart slot pinouts....meaning not ever type can fit in every other model. To my knowledge this will be the first picture of a collection where someone has collected a unique game of every single title across all the systems. And they are all in box! And all cib except for a manual for macross by bandai...can anyone help me with that 1 piece!!! Hahaha Here is all 55 known titles pictured with the emerson ntsc model we got here in the usa. There were 41 silver box games. These were the games that worked on the models like the emerson and used the same box design format. 4 of these were made by bandai and the rest are presumed to be made by UAL- Universal Appliances Limited. There were 11 more titles that were unique to the mpt 03 and mpt 04 consoles. Then 3 more that were unique to the palladium/polybrain/trackton/mr. Altus consoles. These are the 3 in the black boxes. 1 title is lexikon - dictionary. This was an interesting game that you put smaller carts into the side of the main cart to convert english words back and forth from german. I assume they planned to make mini carts for other languages to go with it but never did. I have many more games for the various clone systems that i can hopefully document here more later. But this is particularly neat to see a complete set of every known unique title. Enjoy!

As revealed in the latest @ZeroPage Homebrew show the Starpath/Arcadia SuperCharger is now supported by the PlusStore. The "SuperCharger" folder in PlusStore is shared with all users, so users can now use their smartphone (or any other device with a browser and an audio jack) to load the games via the nextcloud music player app. A PlusStore account (not a PlusCart) is necessary to use the player (Registering a PlusStore account is free). @Prizrak and I uploaded the "Stella gets a new Brain" CD rips and all SuperCharger hacks done by @Nukey Shay to the new PlusStore folder "SuperCharger". This was a lot of work, since all the hacks were bin files and had to be converted with makewav to an audio format and none of the rips and hacks had any useful ID3 tags or cover images. We mostly used @Rom Hunter's database at atarimania.com for the ID3 information and the covers. Some of the information is from the AtariAge Rarity Guide. To organize the album view of the player in a useful way we had to store the game name in the "Artist" ID3 tag and the programmer in the "Album" tag. A new feature is that all new homebrews of 4K and below will be automatically converted to the WAV format and appear in the music player to test with the SuperCharger (currently in the "ZZ_Generated" folder under "Unknown Artist"). PlusStore users that are using the nextcloud/WebDAV client to sync the PlusStore to a local folder and don't have a SuperCharger might unshare the folder if they want to save the 200 MB additional space needed locally. Before using the music player the first time you should set the folder for the library to "/SuperCharger/" here (so scanning will be faster): initially you have to scan the folder:

Repairing an Arcadia 2001 Controller I had problems with a fire button of the left Arcadia 2001 controller, not firing anymore. The Arcadia-controllers are very simple and were cheaply made. Even working, they are not great controllers. In the end nothing will help, but making complete new controllers of quality components, with real switches. I might do that sometime, if there should be some games I really like and want to play decently. Not sure yet. But for the beginning a repair should be enough. Simultaneously I'm using the opportunity to preserve that technology by uploading a few pictures. That's my left controller: Inside everything is glued together. By pulling carefully the parts can be separated. The mylar is quite corroded and a bit dirty: Showing the color scheme the plug: The wiring of the mylar itself, in case somebody wants to make a reproduction (or wonders, why pushing the "2"-key, also triggers the gun). Both red fire buttons are wired in parallel. They are just simple buttons, no rocker switches, no up and down. It is a 5x5 millimeters grid in the background. I cleaned the corrosion and without heavy rubbing, not only oxidation went off, but also the printed conducting traces. They really are not bound firmly with the plastic carrier. Look at the red circle. I cleaned away part of button and wire, by using alcohol, an ear pad and too much pressure and rubbing. Cleaning must be done extremely careful: For the first time I tried to repair with conducting silver, since soldering is impossible. I made a mask of transparent tape for painting the new trace. I learnt, painting one time is not enough: To lower electric resistance, the trace must be thicker. I painted three times. Narrow traces are bad, too. They have to be wide. Contact with the original traces must overlap as far as possible to make good contact. Left picture: painting a few times. Right picture: pulling off the tape. I also re-painted the conductive pad of the fire-button later on. I took no photo. Before reassembling I protected the new traces with transparent tape, since the silver color can't get inside the mylar's surface and gets scratched off quite easily. Reassembled the controller, checked it, working again! I can't predict, how long the new pad of the button will last, of course. Hopefully some time...

So I have an Arcadia 2001 with one game, cat trax, since I got it last year the thing will not display color on any of my crt televisions. It will display color on my 4k. Is there something I need to do on the crts? or is it not really compatible? I mean it's an arcadia, it's not the end of the world if it doesn't work on my crts, just thought I'd get some clarification on the issue. Thanks

I have 3 Atari 2600 Supercharger tape game manuals for sale. The titles are "Killer Satellites", "Dragonstomper", and "Suicide Mission". Condition varies, so please see photos. Killer Satellites has a tiny discoloration. Suicide Mission has some creasing and a tiny tear or two on the front cover. Shipping within the continental US is $3.66. I'm asking $13 for the lot including the shipping charge, but I'm open to reasonable offers. Hoping to get these to someone who will appreciate them.

The Emerson Arcadia 2001 was a console that had a ton of clones (some by Emerson, some not) and a lot of these clones have different cartridge ports, same hardware though. I've tried to look at pictures to see what's compatible with what, but the pictures don't help much. Looking at these two consoles, the dust flap where the cart goes in appears to be the same size, but the pinout may be totally different. I'm looking to buy an Arcadia system, but the original, the Arcadia 2001, is just too pricey. I've seen some clones, however, go for a lot cheaper; So I'm trying to see if i can find out which clones are compatible with the American release of the Arcadia 2001, meaning they have the same cartridge pinout. Some examples of clones I would be interested in knowing about would be the Bandai Arcadia, Tryom Video Game Center, Ekusera, or any that aren't in the PAL format. If anyone has any info on this, I'd love to hear it! -

If you have a crappy MP3 player on hand you can just load it up with the Stella Gets A New Brain audio files (They're all over the internet), Plug in the Supercharger and it will actually read the files and play the games, and it's still much cheaper that buying S.G.A.N.B. or any of the other games physically, though I would recommend you buy some of them just for the box art alone. -
I've been working on a video capture setup for a project that involves getting footage of Atari 2600 games, but as a side project I also have the idea of getting direct-feed video capture of pre-NES game consoles in operation to help make an "archive" of sorts for people down the road, when these systems are going to be nearly impossible to find in working order. While a friend was visiting over the past weekend, we did some video capture for his own website of the Arcadia Gundam and Macross games - he discovered that there aren't any direct-capture videos of either game on Youtube, and none period of Macross that he could find. Figured folks may like to take a look in case they've never seen these games in action! Video was pulled from a Canadian Leisurevision running the multicart from a few years ago. RF cable running into a demodulator, that composite signal running to an amplifier/splitter and that going into a CRT and an Elgato Game Capture HD. I'm not satisfied that youtube can't do 60 fps off of a 240p video, but I've got a framemeister on the way so I may do a second take using that as a 720p signal upscaler. Hello, I was wondering. When was the last time someone tried to secure the rights to any of the Starpath games? Bridgestone Multimedia Group, the current rights holder, has a mailing address and I was considering writing them a letter. My goal would be for them to freely release Dragonstomper under a GNU General Public License. You have to start somewhere. I figure getting a single title released might carry a higher chance of success than a full library release. I believe they could get some positive PR from gaming websites if they/we did a little groundwork and I might play this up. As Dragonstomper might be the first console RPG I believe it to be the most important Starpath game, but it is routinely overshadowed by The Official Frogger and Phaser Patrol, titles that Bridgestone is more likely to make money off of in the future via Atari compilations and the like. Having them keep these titles might make a solitary Dragonstomper release more likely. If this initial goal fails, the goal of my second letter would be for them to name a price to sell the rights, again for the single game. To the best of my knowledge they haven't made a penny off the Starpath rights the entire time they've owned them, so I feel that getting them to release one game for free as a good will gesture might not be that far fetched, and failing that, that the price for the rights to a single game might not be too steep. What do you guys think? Is it worth a shot? Are there any lawyers in the audience who could provide any insight as to the best phrasing and terminology for making a pitch like this, or what the rights might cost if the initial pitch fails? Also, do you think they have the source code for these games or would that more likely be held by the original programmer? Best wishes and thank you for your time.

So just got my Arcadia supercharger in the mail but even after extensive cleaning of the pins it still just starts black and flashes yellow. I have no idea what to do. Im afraid there's a blown capacitor or something inside it. What say you? Any ideas? BTW before I forget Im using an Atari Jr so its not a 7800 issue.

I've been reading up on the Emerson Arcadia 2001, and I found it surprising to learn that Emerson had programmed versions of Pac-Man, Galaxian and Defender for the Emerson Arcadia 2001 but due to Atari owning the rights they were shelved apparently. Have these ever been found and dumped? Would be interesting to see what those games look and play like.

The sprites are sticking on the SuperCharger... anyone have an idea what's different? BreaksOnSC.bin The code runs fine on Stella and on the Harmony but when I run it on the SuperCharger the sprites get stuck. I'm guessing there may be an "environment variable" (register) I'm not setting that is pre-configured when Stella or the Harmony runs a SuperCharger game?

Good for all. My name is Hector and took almost a year infojuegos programming, a website with games information. For a few days I have begun to upload content and I'm starting with the early consoles, including Emerson Arcadia 2001. Unusual question: is it possible that there was a bad batch of certain titles? The reason I ask is that I have nine unique titles and many dupes of Arcadia 2001 games. Of the nine, all of them work except Space Raiders and Space Attack. However, I have dupes of those, and the dupes don't work either! I cleaned the contacts with isopropyl alcohol and contact cleaner. Anyone else have this issue?

I recently picked up an Emerson Arcadia 2001 and a bunch of loose carts for pretty cheap. The console works except for two things that make it unplayable. The first is that the Player 1 disc/joystick acts as if it is always pushed to the right. The second is that when the Player 2 disc/joystick is depressed in any direction, the screen garbles up. I don't have any experience with this console and haven't even cracked it open yet. Do these issues sound familiar to other Arcadia owners?
