Hello guys Mr. V. has just announced that the Fujiama 2024 will be held from the 23th of July until the 28th of July 2024. This time that means that we start on Tuesday, the nanosecond Monday is over and end on Sunday somewhere after breakfast. It also means that the Fujiama 2024 will last a day longer than the Fujiama 2023. More information can be found here at atarixle's Fujiama site and on my meetings site. (more information will be added as it becomes available) Sincerely Mathy PS to get an impression of the previous edition of the Fujiama you can look at their respective topics, for instance the thread about the Fujiama 2023. Pictures are usually near the end of the thread.

I Am a Child from the Dawn of the Video Game Age
GrizzLee posted a topic in Show Us Your Collection!
My Retro/Vintage Gaming Hobby I Am a Child from the Dawn of the Video Game Age Taking a side trip here away from my adventures here. Anyone who knows me personally, can attest that I am somewhat of a geek and so it’s no surprise that I became an mechanical/aerospace engineer by trade. With that stated, I always had an interest in building things and tinkering with electronics, etc.. As I was growing up in the 70's I was fortunate to experience and be able to participate in the dawn of a new era. It all started simple enough with my father coming back from a business trip in Texas one year with one of the first ever digital calculators. I was hooked. I loved the display, the tactile feel of the buttons and the ease of use. I was further inspired when I saw advanced calculators becoming available and even into my high school and college years where I always had to have the latest programmable calculators for my science, math and eventually engineering courses. Now this seems pretty minor in this day and age, but back then, looong before cell phones, home computers, high level object oriented programming languages, etc.. this was an exciting era for me. Read more here... http://rubikonadventures.blogspot.com... A long time friend of mine came by for a visit one day and asked if it was OK to shoot video of my old video game collection and my "man cave" where I hibernate during the winter months when I am not out exploring. Enjoy another facet of my persona here: https://youtu.be/818OZog0Y4I Me Meeting Nolan Bushnell, Founder of Atari and founder of the industry. -
Anyone here with the technical insight to know if ‘Hobgoblin’ for the Atari 8 bit family could be ported or put on 5200 cartridges without all too much fuzz? http://www.atarimania.com/pgedump.awp?id=21453 - - - This would be really cool to play on the 5200! ? But I don’t have the technical knowledge to know if its possible to port it. If its a question of RAM; perhaps the huge ‘hobgoblin’ fonts could be removed entirely, and black background added in stead? (I mean to remember huge pictures takes lots of memory). Anyway; it’s labeled abandonware.

atari 8 bit Atari 8 Bit support on Spy Visits Spy BBS
rcamp48 posted a topic in Atari 8-Bit Computers
i ections are coveredHekki everyone: I am working very hard to make Spy Visits Spy BBS one of the best PC run Atari BBS's on the Internet, so far I have put 500 hours into the BBS, it can be dialed up at 1-226-647-0710, or Telnet into at spyvisitsspybbs.com:21, or HTTP (the best way to get files), at Spy Visits Spy BBS, also I have FTP at spyvisitsspybbs.com port 21. I have no idea if the fTP section is working yet, but I will set it up fully. I am running Winserver 6.4 right now, I will be updating to Winserver 8.0 soon.... I have over 2,000,000 files ready to go online , all of the Atari system that exists. , each Atari section has its own file group, and file sections within the file group. I have at present 3.5 TBs online, ut I have to back up drive C , the BBS part to Drive E, and reinstall WIndows 10 32 bit, right now I am running Windows 7 64 Bit, so I have a lot of work to do there too... I am aslo looking for some co-sysops, let me know if you want to be one , this is a huge BBS and iut probably wioll take more than 1 sysop to run it as I have over 900 file sections, and over 100 file groups, everything from A to Z will be going online. I am at the moment still adding files to the file sections, take a look as you log onto my web site, do not use the WC Navigator part, instead ues Web Browser. This will allow you to use all of the chat, mail, file, etc functions from HTTP. HTTPS is coming soon. Russ Campbell- 21 replies

Since it will last ONE WHOLE WEEK we hope to see all you people there that until now have always said (or thought) that coming over for just three and a half days just doesn't pay. As always, the Fujiama 2019 will be held at the Schützenhaus, Schützenhausweg 11, 08485 Lengenfeld, Germany. For a short impression, please visite atarixle's Fujiama page, Krupkaj's parties photos or my meetings page. Hope to meet you there Mathy

I am fortunate enough now to have two land lines, one for voice and the other for data. When testing my BBS from the 8 bit to the ST on Forem ST and Bobterm 1.21 , I get a 'Press Return' on the ST and a connect 4800 on the 8 bit , however nothing happens, I am using 4800 for both on 2 US Robotics 28800 fax modems , pictures are below:

Hello guys R.I.K. of Kaisersoft just announced that the H.A.T.Z. XIX will be held at the Ascension day weekend, Thursday April May 30th until Sunday May June 2nd. Location will be the same as last year, but R.I.K. has rented the small and the big room this time. Guess that means you all really need to come, so we can fill out the room. That last remark only goes for people who come with ATARI on their mind. If you only come to drink/taste beer and try to get people to join you, please stay away. And that's not just my opinion, but shared by most. You can find more information on my meetings page. Sincerely Mathy PS sorry for the remark, unfortunately it is necessary.

Does anyone know if there is a working version of Rogue for Atari 8 bit computers? (not A-Rogue, but Rogue) The only versions I've found are .cas and .xex and none of them work properly/fully in emulation on Atari800MacX or on my stock 130XE (the .xex files; no real, hardware cassette option): all of the versions of the games play but none allow you to access your pack*, the contents of which are fairly important for the function of this game. Am I missing a control option? Are the commonly circulating copies flawed or "incomplete-ware"? This looks like it could be an amazing game. According to what I could find this game should be compatible with 400/800, XL and XE. Thank you very much for reading and considering my question! Thank you for any help or insight you all might have! Apologies if there is an answer to this question posted previously elsewhere; I searched google, AA and atarimania and some .rom and .xex sites but could find little more than the non functioning versions of Rogue and 1 youtube depicting Rogue working on an Atari 8 bit computer. * To clarify, when the white cursor + symbol is moved over the pack contents nothing happens; there is no menu popping up for accessing/using the pack item contents.

I am looking for an acoustic coupler power supply for the Atari 830 Modem, the TRS80 Interface II Modem, Cat Novation model CAT Novation 490190 modem, or TI-99/4A Phone Modem (part 490267-4). Note I am only looking for a single power supply, all of the listed modems are the same product with cases custom designed for various computer manufacturers. Preference would be for the Ti-99/4A branded modem power supply, or the Cat Novation part #901017 (this was the manufacturer of all of these variants) . Considering that this item no longer suits any real world purpose, I am looking in the $12-$15 US price range max. TIA

My brother just dug up this MIDI file that he made back in the 90s of the "Alternate Reality: The City" intro tune. Perhaps one of you RMT musicians can import it into RMT and do something really cool with it. http://www.rasterline.com/Alternate_Reality.mid My brother's name is Chris Jones, if you need to mention credit for the midi conversion. Have fun!

(Before commencing: I'm looking for open ended advice on laying out memory as a whole subject, feel free to add your own ideas, even if not addressed by my questions. Perhaps this may become a good reference article) When assembly programming, I am sat there with a pen and paper, planning out how I am going to lay out the RAM for my program and all of it's data. Occasionally I rejig it, moving blocks around. Do any of you have a best practice which you apply when deciding how to lay out RAM? My Perl based build system is pretty good at the moment and I am toying with the idea of having a parseable .csv file to decide how to lay out memory. Has anyone else done this before? People mention that they switch out the OS for extra memory. 1) How? 2) What is the knock-on effect of this, do I have to rewrite OS routines such as PMG collision detection and anything else in high RAM? Is this more trouble than it is worth? 3) Any tips in general?
