Hello, I'm new here on atariage, because I need some advice. I have bought in 2008 from Atari2600.com 2 Original Boulder Dash cartridges for the Atari 5200. Yellow one with serial: 080 of 100 Red one with serial: 085 of 100 I have only opened the shippingbox they came in and never the games them self, so they are new and in the seal. So I have the Original shippingbox and bill and email proof form JC Atari2600.com. They are Original FSS release by Atari2600.com see year 2006 (https://firststarsoftware.com/boulderdash-htm/) I only want to know what they are worth today? Many thanks!

I have a few questions related to construction kits on the Atari 8-bit. Am I correct in thinking that "Robbo" and "Robbo Konstruktor" were the only commercially released Robbo games for the Atari 8-bit and all other releases were homebrew? Who were Antic soft, Janu soft, LUK soft, LGB Soft, Robo-Soft, P.W. Software et al? Am I correct that only "Boulder Dash", "Boulder Dash II: Rockfords Revenge" and "Boulder Dash Construction Kit" were the only commercially released Boulder Dash games? Were ANY games produced using construction kits ever sold commercially? I remember some commercial SEUCK games on the ST/Amiga, did any PCS tables etc. ever get released commercially?

In my latest episode I interview game programmer Thomas Jentzsch. Many of his games are available in cart here on Atariage. He has made some great homebrews and there is more to come. I was really happy that I got a chance to talk to him about his games, his background and what's to come.

Looking for a copy of 5200 Boulder Dash.

As much as it pains me to do this: eBay Auction -- Item Number: 191353084627

There are probably dozens of people chasing this cart but does anyone have a loose version of this game for sale? If so, please PM me with you asking price. Other than eBay and this forum, is there somewhere else I should be checking? Does the legitimate ColecoVision Telegames cartridge have a silver label with black text? I want to find the original cart. If reissues or counterfeits exist, is there anything I should watch for to determine if I have found a legit one if/when I find one for sale? I'm not a hardcore collector. This has always been my favorite Coleco game so I'd like to add it to my meager collection, even if the price is borderline absurd. Thanks, Justin

Hi Atari fans, my name is Mirek. :-) Me and my brother Sebastian, like many of you, were raised on the 8 bit Atari and now we're working together on our first game - Box Kid Adventures. It's a top-down puzzle game, with action elements, where you play as Box Kid - a toy made out of carboard - going through various levels, full of nasty enemies and brain challenging puzzles. It offers simple but deep gameplay, that refers to classic games like: Robbo, Boulder Dash, Sokoban or Chip's Challenge. Short story: "In the age of electronics, the toy-robots became kids favorite playthings. However, young, ambitious designer, created a new toy. A Kid. A Box Kid! A toy made out of cardboard. A toy that should breathe life into the world of imagination. But company's CEO wasn't impressed by that idea and he threw Box Kid into the garbage chute... But was that the real reason? Unveil the truth, as you help Box Kid discover his destiny!" We submitted Box Kid to the Steam Greenlight, so if you like it, please consider voting: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=509854181 We'll appreciate your help and feedback. :-) http://boxkidadventures.com/ http://trexinteractive.com/ https://twitter.com/trexinteractive https://www.facebook.com/BoxKidAdventures https://www.facebook.com/TRexInteractive http://www.indiedb.com/games/box-kid-adventures Cheers, Mirek

I wanted to show everyone a test box and cart that I made with the help of some fellow AA members! I made this prototype to see how close I could get to making it look like a official Micro Fun release and I think it turned out great! I have always loved Boulder Dash for the Colecovision and I have always hated Telegames. Boulder Dash is one of those games that is really good and extremely rare. Do to that combination, the price for the game is around $500+ That's a lot of money for a "in my opinion" ugly Telegames box & cart. I have been wanting to make a near perfect copy of Boulder Dash that looks just like Micro Fun would have made it back in the day. I have talked to Collectorvision and if there is enough interest Collectorvision would be willing to make a official homebrew release of "The Micro Fun Boulder Dash" that will look just like my Prototype. This is not a preorder as Collectorvision will take care of that. This is just to gauge interest to get the green light on the project. My question to you is "would you want one?" I'm not sure of the price of the homebrew release as it depends on how many people would want one. The more people interested the lower the price will be. I don't think it should cost much more then a normal homebrew release but that would be up to Collectorvision to make that call. Here is my video showing off the game: http://youtu.be/-NQCfD_ZJXc As a bonus to all my Canadian Colecovision fans I also incuded in the video a special Beer Review of the best Canadian Beer I have ever had!!!! Let me know what you guys think!

After reading that Harmony Encore will be able to handle Boulder Dash, Andrew and I decided to update the demo release to the latest specs of the official release. So all updates for title, speed, graphics, bugfixes etc. with did after the old demo release are now included in the attached demo. Since are still only two caves included in the demo, we know that this will not completely satisfy those who missed the chance for the full release. But the gap now has become a little bit smaller. Enjoy! Boulder Dash (Demo 2).bin

Following the recent release of their amazing Boulder Dash® playable demo, programmers Andrew Davie and Thomas Jentzsch, in association with publishers AtariAge and First Star Software, Inc, are very excited to announce that the original game in the Boulder Dash® series, Boulder Dash® Volume 1, will be available for purchase, exclusively from the AtariAge Store, in time for Christmas 2011! Andrew Davie and Thomas Jentzsch have been working on this Atari 2600 port of Boulder Dash® for almost a decade. Together these two Atari 2600 veterans have used their insight and sophisticated knowledge about the Atari console to bring to life a faithful rendering of the classic, action-puzzle game (first released on the Atari 8-bit computer platform in 1984) from First Star Software, Inc. Game-play, sounds, and graphics have been faithfully reproduced, culminating in a game for the Atari 2600 unlike any previously seen. Here's a video of the game showing the title screen and two full levels being played: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w6Ge6G9sT9E With the full cooperation of First Star Software, Inc., this title will finally be available on the 2600! The game features exact implementations of all 16 caves and 4 intermissions of the original game, playable with 5 levels of difficulty, providing over 80 unique levels of challenging fun. The physics, sound, and graphics are as exact as possible on the Atari 2600, and the game-play and timing are exactly the same as in the original version of the game. In short, this is a not-to-be-missed masterpiece, available in a limited run of only 250 copies. AtariAge and First Star Software, Inc. will be hosting a box and label design competition! Winners will receive a copy of the game signed by Andrew, Thomas, Albert, and Richard M. Spitalny (president of First Star Software, Inc.) . Keep watching AtariAge for announcements of the competition! The game will be available only as a cartridge (with professionally printed box and manual) in time for Christmas 2011, with a purchase price of $75 USD. Pre-ordering will be available soon!
