I found this chip in an Atari 2600 clone board. I find it difficult to get its datasheet I guessed that this chip is a ROM because its name is similar to the most of flash chips in the market. what is its datasheet ?

Hi, I´ve a PAL 600XL for repair and was surprised about the fact, that only GTIA, ANTIC and CPU were in sockets - all other parts are directly soldered in! Until today I never have had an Atari 600XL seen with a mainboard, where NOT all chips are in sockets. Not dependent if it was a PAL or NTSC 600XL mainboard. I´ve made some pictures... (Both DRAMs, both 74LS158, the 74LS375 and 74LS32 were desoldered and sockets placed in by the owner - originally these chips were also directly soldered in) Also not common: Basic "C" - I never found a Basic-C version in an Atari 600XL. Datecode "1284" is very late for 600XL...? Also I never saw such "rubberfoam" at the PBI´s connector (bottom, solder side). Any comments? BR Jurgen

So my main PS3 now is a PS3 80GB "CECHE" model. I play a good amount of PS3 on it still, PS1, and PS2. I've heard two stories regarding this model: -It has half the PS2 chips, others are emulated -It uses 100% emulation to run PS2 games Now, a little research tells me: "North American CECHE 80GB model excludes the PlayStation 2 "Emotion Engine" CPU chip with it being replaced by an emulated version via the Cell Broadband Engine.[11] However, it retains the "Graphics Synthesizer" GPU resulting in a hybrid hardware and software emulation.[16] Due to the elimination of the "Emotion Engine" and its replacement with a software-emulated version, the level of PlayStation 2 compatibility was slightly reduced." So it seems like the first is true, it's a mix of PS2 chips and emulation. I've thrown a lot of PS2 games at my CHECHE and never had any problems. Can anyone say they have, or seen a list of PS2 games that don't work on the CECHE model? That would be a forever system for me if it worked. Keeping my fingers crossed the PS5 is fully backwards compatible as rumors have stated it may be. -

So I received an Atari 2600 a while back and in the box was this. They seem to be chips but I have no cart to plug them in. Was piracy widespread when the 2600 was in it's prime and what would this be plugged into? Here is another picture mind you I own proper carts for all of these titled carts. I am just interested on how this process worked. What are your thoughts or information on this, have any of you found anything like this when collecting? -

Sunnyvale, CA 94086 Manufactured: 1977 Manufactured by: TRW Electronic Components Company In Taiwan Model: CX-2600 Box: Copyright Atari, Inc. 1978 Light or Heavy Sixer: Not sure? I have a question (or maybe questions) about my Atari 2600 (CX-2600) that was given to me several weeks ago. A friend of mine passed away in 2007 (age 38) due to a chronic disease that he had all his life, and I've kept in contact with his Mom for the past 6 years. She learned (from my e-mail signature) that I liked Atari. She asked if I wanted her son's (Charley) Atari 2600, because it had been sitting in the closet for 25+ years. I said yes. She sent the Atari 2600 with the original box (Copyright Atari, Inc. 1978), but the motherboard inside reads copyright logo © 1977. She said they got it for Charley the first Christmas that the Atari came out, so why would the box read 1978? I opened the console and took it apart to clean the inside. I was shocked to see that it was spotless. The inside cover of the Atari console was a bit dusty, but other than that, it looks and works great. The switch board and main motherboard both read © 1977 (pictured), but 3 out of 4 chips (4th has no date on it) read 8108, 8120, and 8121, which I thought that meant the year (1981) and the 8th, 20th, and 21st weeks of that year. I noticed the piece of paper taped to the top of the EMI shield cover reads the letter Z (it could be 2), and also the date (in red) July 13th 1981. From what I've gathered from the enclosed photos (with detail), my friend received his Atari 2600 in 1978 (made in 1977), but... had it worked on in July of 1981. Something must have happened to where they had to replace 3 out of the 4 chips inside the console. They didn't have to replace anything (chips) on the switch board, just the main motherboard. I could be incorrect about my assumption(s). None of the boards have been replaced. Does this all mean they had it repaired in 1981? Why does the box read 1978 when it was built in 1977, unless it was built in late 1977? Is this Atari 2600 a Heavy Sixer? It looks more like a light sixer. I noted which chips were replaced. I apologize for the flashlight, but I wanted to note the dates perfectly. Again, I apologize for so many pictures, but I've read on here that people want pictures if someone is having a problem or question. Thank you for your help.

Hello, You guys wanted me to notify you when I started putting the Probe2000 Cartridges up for auction on eBay, well the first one just went up on ebay. It is Ice Hockey, that is a complete game, but was done in house at Probe2000/NAP as is evidence by the 2 screw case and the custom pcboards and chips, that have only been seen on the other prototypes created by Probe2000 also. I have verified these games as working, and have included all the pictures of the games running, and the inside of the shell, and outside as well. I have been informed by people on other atari sites to start the bidding at $250, so this is what I have done.
