I borrowed an Atari/Sega adapter for my Intellivision 2 and Telegames Super Video Arcade consoles from a friend last month, and got some interestimg results. This particular adapter was made by Grips03 back about 3 1/2 years ago, and it really is opening opening up new possibilities for controlling games on the Intellivision- with even some very cool mice and trackballs. I made a batch of Masterplay Interface clones based on the schematic at Dr. Scott M. Baker's awesome website. My own schematic and BOM are posted below. I'm not making any more of these 😂 Basic info: - These let you use Genesis controllers to play most of the Atari 5200 library - The acrylic top of the clone can be removed with 1.5mm hex bit to access jumpers (rotate jumpers 90° to change button mapping) - Calibrate x and y axes with a small screw driver if necessary Games that can't be played with the Masterplay Interface clone: - Missile Command - Super Breakout - Kaboom! - Centipede - QIX works only after cycling the d-pad $60 + shipping for the Masterplay clone, custom keypad, and extension cable Thanks for looking! Today I've got a presentation to share that has to do with two products: 1) The new Playstation to 5200 Controller Adapter designed by Dr. Scott Baker and provided to me by Tony Stout. 2) Wico Command Control fitover joystick add-ons (3D-print design by Tony Stout). I've tested and completed my review of the latest and greatest Atari 5200 controller adapter made by Atariage member, Ikonsgr. It's essentially a bohoki-clone that enables you to use PC 15 pin controllers on the SuperSystem. In the video, I've demonstrated a good number of analog and digital PC controllers (gamepads, keypads, joysticks, steering controllers, and flight yokes) being used to effectively play 5200 games. Some of these controllers have the ability to be used as both analog and digital controllers (Makopad PC gamepad, Radio Shack gamepad, and the Vortex 3D), right-hand/left hand switching digital gamepads (Gravis PC Gamepad and the Reveal Gamepad), and there's even one which has the ability to switch between self-centering and non-self-centering ("dead-fish stick") analog joystick control. I found a decent item for cheap at around 2004, a 3D Zero SNES controller adapter. At first it worked, for both a control pad as well as a fight stick. Then later I bought Pataank, and the 3D Zero didn’t work. It didn’t work with neither the SNES Pad nor fight stick. But the Goldstar 3DO controller and Panasonic fight stick work fine. Also I tested the daisy chaining abilities of the 3D Zero, it worked anywhere from Player 1/4 to Player 4/4. I know it can work with up to 8 people, but I don’t have 8 controllers. First of all, any 3D Zero owners notice an incompatibility with Pataank, or is it just mine? Second, can anyone name a 3DO game they have that doenst work with a 3D Zero? Finally, how do other SNES->3DO adapters work with their 3DO games, i especially what to hear about incompatible ones with 3D Zero, like Pataank?

Today I've got some information to share on how you can get your Playstation controller working on your Colecovision with adapters. This required some experimenting with using a current-day USB hub with power supply. Check out my results here: Here are the adapters you'll need: 1) 9 pin Sega Genesis extension cords (2) 2) Edladdin Seagull 78 controller adapter (converts Genesis controllers to be fully-compatible with the Atari 7800) 3) Tototek Joypad Converter version MD (converts Playstation controllers to be compatible with the Sega Genesis console) 4) PS1 Multitap 5) Speedlink Redeemer Beyond Total Control Playstation 2 mouse/keyboard adapter 6) powered USB hub with power supply The method: 1) Plug in a Colecovision controller into port 2 of your Colecovision (consider connecting a 9 pin extension cable to it in case you want to sit a little ways away from the console.) 2) Plug a 9 pin extension cable into port 1 of your Colecovision, but don't plug any adapter into it yet. (wait) 3) Connect all the above adapters/PS1 Multitap together but leave the Seagull78 adapter unconnected to the 9 pin extension cable that's plugged into port one of the console. 4) Plug your Playstation controller into port A of the multitap 5) Plug the Speedlink Redeemer into port B of the multitap 6) Connect a powered USB hub (with power supply plugged into the wall) to the lower USB connector of the Speedlink. 7) Turn on your Colecovision and use the keypad of the port 2 Colecovision controller to make your game selection and start up the game. 8 ) Now plug in the adapters to the extension cable that's plugged into port 1 of your Colecovision and play your game with the connected Playstation controller. This method works for many, but not all Colecovision games. The ones that are incompatible with this method are the ones which don't allow a keypad controller that's plugged into port 2 of the console to start up the game, but only a keypad that's plugged into port 1 of the console. If you want to know how to get around that with a 9 pin splitter cable method, take a look at the video presentation. The nice thing about using Playstation controllers is that both buttons- not just one button- will work in the games that have the 2 button access. Another really nice aspect is that you can use a flightstick to play games like Zaxxon and River Raid. Also, it's nice to be able to use an arcade stick to play games like Q-bert or Ladybug.
