  1. Today I have some relatively new information on a $17 controller adapter that you can obtain on Ebay that, when combined with a PC 15 pin gameport to Atari 5200 controller adapter (like the one currently being made by bohoki) will get your Atari 2600, Sega Master System, and Sega Genesis controllers working on your 5200. What's extra awesome about this is that the Sega controllers have compatibility with the two button games, and this is what the Masterplay Clone enables. (Unfortunately, no one is currently producing the Masterplay Clone for purchasing, though.) Here is the Ebay link to the product: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Amiga-Atari-Amstrad-Commodore-DB9-9Pin-Joystick-to-15Pin-Port-support-Usb-Adpt/272348471848?hash=item3f693be228:g:Df4AAOSwUd9aaMnL I've ordered adapters from this Ebay seller, Ikonsgr74, since 2015 and can vouch for his top-notch workmanship. He will not disappoint you. I have some additional good news: The Atari 2600 Trakball works with it to play the digital games that may be worth a try on the 5200. I have tried it with Gyruss, Ballblazer, and Galaxian with nice control results- especially Gyruss. The trakball unfortunately doesn't work with the analog-only games like Missile Command, Tempest, Star Wars Arcade, and Super Breakout. For two button digital games like Defender and Dreadnaught Factor, the Sega Sportspad (which is a trackball) also works great. If you have a couple of Camerica NES products (The receiver for the "Freedom Stick" with Genesis cables and the "Freedom Connection" transmitter device) you can add those adapters and get your NES controllers working on the 5200. I have enjoyed playing with my NES Starmaster joystick and NES Max gamepad on games like Dig Dug and Defender. In fact, on Defender, the Star Master joystick helped me to get my best ever score of around 89,000. That joystick has a very satisfying 'click' for each direction it is tilted- though it's not actually a microswitch-laden joystick like the Quickshot II Plus. Hard to describe, but it's just a perfect joystick and I'm very grateful to be able to use it to play my favorite 5200 games. I've detected no lag by the way, so that's good... Also there's a way to connect the 8bitdo NES Retro Receiver to the 5200 via the two adapters (and Camerica NES products and NES Fourscore) and play your 5200 digital games wirelessly with the controllers it's compatible with: The Dual Shock 4, Dual Shock 3, Wii Remote, and Wii U Pro Controller. I've tested it and had great success just last evening. Hope you enjoy the info. Special thanks to Swami for being the 1st guinea pig to try out Ikonsgr74's newly revised controller adapter on the 5200 (via being added to the bohoki adapter). I'm definitely grateful for learning about this from you.
  2. ProjectY It's ProjectY - the RPB you've been waiting for since the 90s! WIP @ 's Magical Game Factory. The Origins For the first time ever, fans of retro consoles are getting exactly the game they want! And they want a RPB! Investors, as they are called, have used their voting power to shape ProjectY to their own liking. Their first poll result was to make a game for the Mega Drive/Genesis. Then came the decision to make the game a RPB (Role-Playing-Brawler). The final big turn for the project was the setting, which the investors decided should be cyberpunk. With these defining poll results, ProjectY started to take shape while additional minor polls followed. Development is currently ongoing; you can still join ProjectY and shape the game by voting, submitting your ideas and discussing the project on the boards! 40MEG Obtained with fervor by the investors, we can guarantee the game will have a bare minimum 40 megabits cartridge. ProjectY is joining the small club of High Density Cartridges (also known as the "big, black cartridges"). This will be at least the second biggest Mega Drive/Genesis game ever, after WaterMelon's own Pier Solar! With this much storage at our disposal, we can make the ultimate 16-bit beat 'em all! Also obtained by the investors, the game will feature four playable characters, one of them to be unlocked. The Context ProjectY takes place in a post-apocalyptic world, set in an Asian high-tech metropolis. The last survivors of the nuclear war are divided into several classes, where the most powerful have the others by the balls. This has divided the governing bodies into several fractions, where ethnic mafias and a corrupt corporation are just a few of them! As you can see, this story is filled with many possible scenarios. It will demand lots of exploring and several playthroughs to get everything out of it. WHY SHOULD I JOIN AND INVEST? How do I join a project? If a project is open to join, you can join by investing at least one GEM into the project. What are GEMS? How much do they cost? GEMS are Watermelon's currency. As for now, one GEM is equal to 10 cents (USD) with the possibility of changing later on. You can use GEMS to invest in a project. If you earn some GEMS, you can use them to get discounts on products, get coupons, etc. What do I get for my investment in a project? Magical Game Factory investments offer access to voting and conversion features. How much do I have to invest to save myself one copy of the game? 500GEMS (USD 50) for one edition of the game reserved exclusively to Investors. 3. So I've got 32X once again and my life is filled with the joy of 32-bit power and Virtua things, but I can't help but wonder if I could get a slightly better picture out of my 32X with a nice thickly shielded composite cable instead of the el-cheapo generic Genesis Model 2 composite cable I have been using. I definitely don't want to drop a ton of money on a SCART cable and RGB converter box, I'm perfectly happy with using composite on my 480i CRT TV (though my TV does have component inputs too so that would be an option if there was an affordable component cable out there that does 480i), I was just wondering if anyone knows of a good Genesis 2 / 32X composite cable that's a bit more heavy duty and more nicely shielded than the generic ones you find on eBay? I had looked at Retro-Bit's Genesis 2 / 32X composite cable on Amazon but a couple reviewers mentioned that it doesn't actually output proper stereo sound, so I thought I'd ask around here for other recommendations. Any advice would be be appreciated.
  4. I ended up getting two copies of Tanglewood, one that I opened and have enjoyed playing over the last few months and one that I left sealed, and I've decided to put the sealed copy up for sale or trade. SOLD!
  5. I've recently purchased a non-working Sega CD off of e-Bay that had a problem with the tray constantly ejecting and not spinning discs. After some minor gear realignment and a belt change I was able to get the tray working 100% but for some reason I am still not able to load any games . Strange thing about this is I am still able to play audio CDs just fine. I've tested the games it came with on a modchiped Xbox and they played fine so I am begining to think this may be some kind of laser issue. I've already tried all the basic cleaning steps and am ready to consult the experts. I want to bring this thing back to life! P.S. Any experience with generic KSS-240A laser pickups?
  6. My first eBay listing in about 20 years! I have a big collection of games, action figures, and other toys that will eventually make their way to eBay but I am testing the waters with this listing first. [ebay]143110245067[/ebay] Thanks for looking!
  7. Hey there guys and gals! I'm doing some rearranging of my gaming center and simplifying my Sega setup a bit, and as such I've got some pretty nice stuff for sale! As usual to give you a reference for my reliability as a buyer and seller, you can see all the feedback I've received from selling games and related accessories on eBay over the last half a dozen or so years here: http://www.ebay.com/usr/hanz0d0gYou can also find my AtariAge Marketplace User Feedback thread here: http://atariage.com/forums/topic/254880-jin/ Before we get down to business, here's the usual info: All prices listed below are firm and do not include shipping costs. Sega Accessories Sega Genesis Controller to Master System Adapter This nifty accessory is a custom made adapter cable that lets you use a Genesis controller to play Sega Master System games that normally don't work with a Genesis controller, such as Montezuma's Revenge, Alien Syndrome, Shanghai, etc. It has been tested with both 3-button and 6-button Genesis controllers and works perfectly with both. Price: $8 Books The Legend of Zelda: A Link To The Past & The Four Swords Strategy Guide This may be my longest owned gaming related item. I've had this one on my bookshelf since I bought it new at Borders books when it first came out many long years ago, and it's definitely seen some use. The covers have a good amount of wear but all pages are present an accounted for. Price: $6 Pokémon Black & White 2 Official Pokedex In good shape with only minor wear. All pages are very clean, though the poster that original came with it was lost somewhere along the line. Price: $5 Misc. Goodies More pictures in spoiler tag below! Aliens Versus Predator for Mac OS X Complete in box and never used. The box is in rather rough shape but the disc is still clean and scratch-free. Price: $10 Box and Instruction Manual set for Mortal Kombat on the Sega Genesis In okay shape. The box does have some scratches and the front few pages of the manual are creased. Also included is a small poster advertising upcoming Sega Genesis games. Price: $5 Whew! I think that's everything! Thanks for taking the time to view my sales thread and just shoot me a PM if you're interested in purchasing anything.
  8. I have an Atari Jaguar, but lost the power adapter a long time ago. I've seen people saying the first-gen Genesis power adapter works for the Jaguar, but what about the MK-1602-1 adapter? It's intended for the first-gen Genesis, which requires 9V and 1.2A, but the adapter is 10V and 1.2A. I don't know why they made it 1 volt more, but it's meant for a system that requires 9V, so would it work for the Jaguar? From pictures people have posted, it looks like the same company might have made the same power adapter for multiple companies.
  9. Just like the title says, I'm looking for one of these little doodads: Must include the Sega Genesis / Mega Drive Model 2 adapter plate and be in nice condition with all the white lettering intact and the dust cover hinges undamaged, and working properly of course. If anyone has one they'd like to sell I'm offering $100 USD + postage for it via PayPal, and I will pay the cost for international shipping from Europe or Australia to the United States if needed. Thanks for taking the time to view my post and just send me a PM if you have a Master System Converter II that you'd be up for selling.
  10. I've been feeling the itch to swap out the 3/4 motherboard VA3 Model 2 Genesis that I have in my game center at the moment for a Model 1 system like I had as a kid, so I figured I'd ask around here to see if anyone had one in really nice shape that they'd be up for selling. To be specific, I'm looking for one of two versions of the Model 1 Genesis system. The first is the version with the "High Definition Graphics" text on top and the TMSS start-up screen, which looks like this when you power it on with a game inserted: The second version I'd be interested in in a Model 1 Genesis without the "High Definition Graphics" text on top as long as it has the EXT port on the back, which looks like this: Price wise I'm looking to pay around $45 shipped for a barebones system with just the console and official Sega power supply but I am open to negotiation and would be willing to go higher for a flawlessly pristine condition system. Thanks much and just shoot me a PM if you'd like to do business.

  12. I have figured out a way to use adapters and a powered USB hub to get Sega Master System and Genesis controllers compatible with the Colecovision 2 button games. In the presentation I use the controllers to play Rock 'N Rope, Space Fury, Cosmic Avenger, and HERO. The adapters and cables used are not hard to locate online, so this can be accomplished by anyone who'd want to get their favorite controllers fully compatible. Check it out, and subscribe to my channel for more controller fun:
  13. My local Walmart is known for being horribly behind when it comes to toys and games. most of the time, their stock is 6 months to a year behind the Walmart 30 minutes from here. They also tend to skip waves when it comes to toys, making it really annoying to collectors and children. On to why I'm posting... I went to Walmart today and as I was passing the electronics, I happened to look down the video game isle and something caught my eye. They had the Atari Flashback portable, the Genesis Portable and Genesis Flashback, along with the Atari Flashback 8. I was amazed that they had these, since I've NEVER seen any of the retro systems here. I know the Atari Flashback Portable has been around for a while, but I'm not sure about the others. I know this doesn't seem like something really important, but knowing how horrible this Walmart is, I was really surprised. What makes this Walmart such a horrible store is the fact that we have a Distribution Center right here in town, yet nothing is ever stocked when it gets released. I'll give you an example, I collect Transformers. Like most other toy lines, they get released in waves. Let's say wave1 gets released in January in the next town. It may be May or June before it shows up here and that may be the only wave that ever shows up, since the next line starts before this Walmart ever gets the second wave in. This isn't just an issue in the toys, it's also the same in the electronics and games. The only thing they seem to stay up to date on are the Blue-rays. Even the PS4 games are late. So, I just wanted to share my amazement that something fairly interesting had shown up at "the Walmart that time forgot".

  19. Once again, it's time to start clearing stuff out and raising money to buy homebrews. For the moment I'm just going to use this thread list some of my newer and higher-value items. I also have an old sale thread with items that I'll gradually migrate here. Anything there is still available. Prices do not include shipping, which will always be charged at exact cost. I'm mainly looking for sales, but will consider trades for certain items on my wantlist, e.g. the 32X games I don't have or a CIB Star Control II for 3DO. OK, let's dive in: Sega 32X: World Series Baseball '95 Starring Deion Sanders - box and manual only - $50 or best offer I actually bought a box and manual for this game, and only a couple weeks later ran into a CIB copy in the wild. The box and manual I bought was in better shape, so I kept those + the "wild" cart, and am selling the "wild" box/manual. I'm not sure if you can easily see the sunfading in the pictures. On the box/outer sleeve itself, it's present on one side, but really pretty mild and not too bad at all. (The top of the yellow tray is severely sunfaded, almost white, but those are easy to replace if necessary.) The box isn't mint and there's some wear on a couple edges, but overall it's in quite reasonable shape. If the price seems bizarro, this is the 2nd rarest US release for the 32X, and regularly goes for well over $100, so this is a good way to save money by piecing together a copy. Sega Genesis: CIB: Gauntlet IV - $16.00 Mortal Kombat - $8.00 Revenge of Shinobi (Sega Classics) - $11.00 Strider Hiryu (JPN) - $15.00 Boxed: Street Fighter II: Championship Edition - $5.00 Superman - $7.00 Thunder Force II - $8.00 Other: Game Genie - $5.00 I have lots of other Genesis stuff that'll be joining this thread sooner or later. Much of it is in the old thread linked above. PlayStation 1: Sealed games: Crash Bandicoot 2 (Greatest Hits) - price TBA Mortal Kombat Trilogy (Greatest Hits) - price TBA Shrek Treasure Hunt - $5.00 Shooter Starfighter Sanvein - $5.00 Speedball 2100 - $6.00 Spyro the Dragon (Greatest Hits) - price TBA I also have 12-15 other games available for sale, mainly Crash Bandicoot and Tomb Raider games. Details forthcoming. GameCube: Wavebird controller: I have one, but I don't think I really want or need it. Details TBA, or ask if you're interested. CIB games: Mario Golf: Toadstool Tour (Player's Choice) Pac-Man World 2 (on the fence about selling this) Super Mario Sunshine (Player's Choice) I also have a CIB Lego Star Wars with a totally trashed case. Buy the two games above and it's yours for free. Atari ST: Harrier Strike Force (sealed) - $7.00 (no idea what to charge for this!) ------------- Prices do NOT include shipping. Buyers within the US and Canada preferred. All items will be well-packed in a box unless buyer and seller agree on a different shipping method. Payment via PayPal; gift payment (or adding 3% to cover fees) is always appreciated, but never demanded. Also feel free to look at my trader feedback thread; I also have one at Sega-16. Please provide references if you're new to Atariage. More to come, including Miracle Piano Teaching System stuff for NES & SNES.

  22. For the last few months, I supplemented my money from work with sales on ebay. Now this thread will show what I have left over. There are going to be more items added eventually, and I am going to make a text only list of complete in box music cds I have at the bottom for those who are interested in buying any of those cheap from me. I buy them cheap so I will sell them equally cheap when I am done with them. All games with pictures shown are available. Ask for prices of games that don't have a price shown yet if you want them. The items will be arranged from most expensive first to cheapest last so collectors who are really into it can see the rarest stuff first. If you buy enough stuff from me at once I won't charge for shipping. I'm having a hard time selling the complete in box Atari 2600 games on ebay as the demand is low for pre-NES stuff there. Haggle with those if you want them. 23. I recently picked up a Model 1 Genesis without the "High Definition Graphics" on it and there is a problem. When I go to play some games, like Outrun 2019, X-Men, Sub-Terrania and Phantom 2040, I get a message like "This Game Was Designed for a NTSC Genesis". When a console says "Genesis" instead of "MegaDrive" on it, it's NTSC as far as I know. It also works fine with my NTSC TV and American AC adapter. Is there any reason for this? I can furnish pictures if requested. I really just want to play some Genesis games and I can't
