  1. Hey guys, I'm starting this new thread for the various adapters I make since the old thread was getting a bit long, and the original posting didn't contain the various adapters I now offer. The original thread can be found here. Here is the current lineup of adapters and extension cables I have for sale: Intellivision 1 Flashback Controller Adapters (for the original console, INTV, Radio Shack etc. variations with the "hard wired" controllers): These are $24/pair (only sold in pairs). Approximate length is 18 inches. Intellivision II / Sears Flashback Controller Adapters (for the Intellivision II and Sears consoles with the removable db9 connector controllers): These are $14 each, or two for $26. If desired, you can specify the color of the decorative heat shrink tubing near the cable ends. Black is also an option. If not specified, you will receive whatever color I have in stock at the time. Approximate length is 6 feet. Standard db9 controller extension cables - 6 foot length (for Intellivision II / Sears consoles, Atari 2600 / 7800, Sega Genesis, Atari and Commodore computers; basically anything that uses a standard db9 type connector): These are $7.00 each. Colecovision Y-Adapter cable - allows connection of standard Colecovision system controller and an additional compatible joystick (Atari 2600, etc) without the need to unplug / swap controllers one at a time. Should work fine on other consoles that use db9 connectors - but only tested on a Colecovision): These are $12 each. If desired, you can specify the color of the heat shrink tubing, including black. If not specified, you will receive whatever color I have in stock at the time. Approximate length is 24 inches. ----------------------------------------------- Please send me a PM here on Atari Age if you are interested in any of these cables. Include your shipping / address information, and preferably an email address, and I will get back to you with a total. Payment is via PayPal. Credit cards (processed through my business - White Flag Computing) are also an option if you don't use PayPal. You can also email [email protected] instead of sending a PM if you prefer. Shipping is not included in the above prices. USA orders will be shipped via USPS Priority Mail (usually flat rate small box, which is $6.80 - the price went up January 2016, it used to be $5.95). I can also ship USA orders via First Class Mail in a padded mailer for a little bit less. International orders will be shipped via USPS International First Class (padded mailer - price varies depending on weight and destination). Thanks!
  2. Well, finally it’s here, courtesy of Nurmix (and the Intellivisionaries) a dream has come true for many Intellivision players: The Dual Action Controller has been released! Thanks to Nurmix’s kindness, I have been lucky enough to be the first one to receive a copy of this device and I would happily share my first impressions with the rest of the community. In this thread, I will concentrate on gameplay (more information on the controller can be found here). In a nutshell, the Dual Action Controller allows the player of certain Intellivision games (like AD&D Cloudy Mountain, Tron Deadly Discs, Night Stalker and the recently released Ms Night Stalker) to move AND shoot at the same time (due to technical constrains a normal controller requires the player to first stop, then shoot and finally continue moving). Even better, Dual Action functionality allows the player to shoot in a different direction to the one where the player is moving! Moving to one direction while shooting in a different one (as seen in the arcade classic Robotron 2084) radically changes the gameplay of a shooting game. This functionality was achieved in the arcades with dual joysticks and was almost impossible to implement on home systems until the appearance of the Playstation Dual Analog controller in the late 90’s. So, having these features in some of the best and most popular Intellivision games in my perspective is a big, big deal! I have decided to start this thread to not only attract other gamers’ attention but also programmers’ in the hope that new games with the Dual Action feature could be created for our beloved console. So please feel free to share your Dual Action gameplay impressions and ideas below. I am also adding a couple of high scores so we do not forget about the really important things . By the way, I am playing using a RGB modded Intellivison II with a Dual Controller connected via a pair of Nurmix’s Intellivision Flashback Controller Adapters (see photo). Please note that the Dual Action controller needs to be connected to BOTH controller ports.
  3. I'm getting dreadfully behind on the Intellivisionaries Podcast. I don't have the free time I used to and I'm looking for a better way to listen on the go. I know many people use an App for their phone, but I don't know where to begin and I'm looking for suggestions. Which App should I use for Android? Do I actually download them onto my PC or phone? How big are the files on average? On the Intellivisionaries page, I saw an option to "Download .mp3 of this Episode", but when I clicked on it it just opened and started playing (PC/Windows 7/Chrome). I figured there would be some way to just download the files as mp3, move to a folder on my phone, and access with an app. Is this not correct? Sorry, I'm new to this
  4. In our upcoming Intellivisionaries Podcast (episode 10), we are reviewing Treasure Of Tarmin. I am hoping to get another interview with programmer Tom Loughry (we last talked to him in episode 6 about The Dreadnaught Factor). I already have a lot of things to talk about with him, but I thought I'd ask here for specific questions for Tom / Treasure Of Tarmin that I can use for the interview. Depending on the questions, and how many are asked, I may not be able to get to them all, but I will certainly try. So, fire away!
  5. What's this!? A Christmas surprise episode from us? Yes, Special Edition 10 is up! http://intellivisionaries.com/special-edition-10-christmas-2018/ Merry Christmas & Happy Holidays from all of us at The Intellivisionaries Podcast!
  6. In this episode, we review... nothing! That's right, no game review this time around (part of the format changes), but we still have a heck of a show... We interview the guys behind Throwback Network (Rob O'Hara and Sean Johnson) in our 'Mentions' segment. We also have a listener / Intellivision hacker interview with Greg Goodwin (our own 'doctorclu'). And there's Feedback, News, and George. Our guest Corrections person is Ryan Waltrip ('S1500' here on the forum) from Classic Console Gamernews. The website will be updated tomorrow - for those who listen there. In the mean time, you can grab it from our RSS feed, or directly on iTunes, or on our Libsyn, Stitcher or TuneIn pages (our Libsyn episode 21 page is below): http://intellivisionaries.libsyn.com/the-intellivisionaries-episode-21-deck-the-shelves-with-new-brew-multis
  7. Hey, guys. We're going to be covering Imagic's Truckin' on the podcast (there will be a programmer interview with Rick Levine as well), and we'd like to hear what you think/thought of the game. Did you play it as a kid? Do you play it now? Does it hold up? Any tips and tricks, etc. Thanks in advance! We'll likely be including your feedback in the review.
  8. As discussed in our Intellivisionaries Episode 5 thread a while back ( http://atariage.com/forums/topic/221183-intellivisionaries-episode-5-is-up/ ), I am looking for questions to ask Keith Robinson. All the ones already asked in that thread have been sent to him, but if anyone else has more for him, please post them in this thread, and I will make sure he gets them. I will have him in the studio next week to get answers to them, which will [hopefully] be in episode 9 toward the end of May.
  9. Just a quick note... Due to several requests, I've uploaded a high quality mp3 of The Intellivisionaries intro and outro theme music (which are my original compositions) to our Libsyn page. So, your RSS feed catchers will see it soon, if they haven't already. You can also grab the mp3 file itself there, if you don't want to just stream it. Visit the URL below: Thanks, and enjoy! P.S. Extended versions of both tracks are in the works. And look for our December episode later this month. http://intellivisionaries.libsyn.com/
  10. Episode 27 is up! No game review, but plenty of entertaining content. Special guest host "Cmart" (Christian Martin) joins us this time around. There's expo talk, an Ultimate Flashback review, Coleco reproduction box set review, a Mattel/consumer catalog segment ("Collecting With Cmart"), Feedback, News and George. Oh, and Rick is tooling about town on a Penny-Farthing bicycle for some reason. BIG thanks to Benjamin "Vipp" Stirling (aka "George") and Shaun Holley for the 'Rick on a Penny' artwork! http://intellivisionaries.com/episode-27-rick-rolled-retro/
  11. I just wanted to let everyone know that due to some family / work / time issues for myself, Rick and Will (and not being able to get interviews scheduled in a timely fashion - especially this month), episode 18 is running behind. So much so that the episode won't go live until some time in early April. This will be the first time we've missed the end of month cutoff on our self-imposed monthly schedule, but at this point, and moving forward, we are going to have to relax the pace a bit if we are going to continue to do the kind of show we want to do. The last couple episodes barely made it out on time, and with 'real life' and everything I mentioned above, we really can't keep up the pace we've been on thus far. But rest assured, the show will continue. Whether that means new episodes will come out every 5 weeks, every 6, or maybe every 4, I can't say right now, but we WILL keep going. In the mean time, we appreciate your understanding, and sincerely thank you for listening to the show. -Paul
  12. Just made it before the month ended! Whew! In this episode, we review the Mattel and INTV Corp. ‘educational’ games Math Fun, Word Fun, Learning Fun I and Learning Fun II. We interview designers / programmers Kimo Yap and Dave Warhol about the games. We also have a listener interview with Intellivision enthusiast Karen Overstreet. The Intelli-Virgins are back discussing Lock ‘N’ Chase, and of course there’s Feedback, News, the Odyssey 2 and lots of George. So sit back and have Fun and Learn! http://intellivisionaries.com/episode-17-math-word-and-learning-fun/
