  1. So recently I've been looking into acquiring various prototypes for the Jag CD like American Hero, Demolition Man, Native, Fallen Angels, Varuna's Forces, Soul Star and Black Ice White Noise. I had minimal luck finding anything and nothing for those ever pops up on eBay. Regarding the latter I email Kelp Entertainment after hearing rumors that they had released it a while back. I got this response: Hey Rick. Sorry it's taken me so long to get back to you. I do still sell Black ICE, but it isn't old stock, I burn discs fresh for each order. http://bjwest.com/BIWN/ These are encrypted discs, so they work on any Jaguar with a CD drive, no need for a bypass cart or developer board. Thanks, B.J. West So there it is. Revision 18, 23, and the Soundtrack, still available. Now I just need to get Custom Game Cases to make a DVD box with art for it... They come in slim line CD cases with printed insert and label. I think I actually stumbled upon this page when I first started collecting for Jaguar, but had no idea what it was at the time. If anyone knows where to find any other rare Jag CD protos, please do share!!

  3. So I got my copy of I-War in the mail yesterday. I throw it in the Jag CD and get the boot screen, and then nothing. But then I can hear the I-War music. I did this several times and same thing. So I play a few other games, (missile command, ruiner, etc.) and they all work fine. Finally I pull out my Jag CD (which I pretty much never do) and toss in I-War, and it plays fine on the base console? Had anyone heard of this happening? Audio but no video through my Jaguar CD on I-War only, but it works on the base unit?!? Then, after plugging the Jag CD back in, I try I-War again, after playing it for like 30 minutes on the jag base, and sure enough audio but no video. Then I went to play Jaguar CD games, (Vid Grid, Battlemorph) and they start freezing on me!! (never happened before) I'm guessing it didn't like being pulled off and popped back down. I let it cool down for a bit and then was able to play an hour of Battlemorph with out it freezing on me again. (Battlemorph never ceases to amaze me by the way, one of the most polished games with the best graphics on the Jag). Talk about fragile/temperamental! Has anyone had any of these issues, and if so any suggestions? I'm going to play it again tonight to make sure the freezing issue is gone, but having these issues made me realize a few things. 1. I'd rather not have to track down another Jag CD 2. I'm not pulling it off the base unit anymore because it's seemed to react poorly to being moved about.
  4. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hQoGZ0yEdOI&feature=plcp Above is a Video of my Game Room. I know it is a little small and stuff is crammed in there but I am trying my best. The drums aren't always set up they fold away into the closet for the most part. Please enjoy and below is a list of ALL my systems. Thanks for looking and if you guys know why my Jag CD causes interference when attached please let me know. It does it now and it did it back when my Jag was brand new with a brand new CD attachement so I am not sure. XBOX 360 XBOX PS1 PS2 Neo Geo AES Neo Geo MVS Sega Genesis Sega CD Sega 32X Sega Saturn which I forgot to mention, it has Guardian Heros in it. Sega Dreamcast Colecovision Atari 2600 Expansion thingy for the Colecovision Starpath Supercharger. Supercharger interface multiplied the Atari 2600's RAM 49-fold, from its meager built-in 128 bytes to 6,272 bytes, i.e. giving it an extra 6 KB, allowing for larger games with higher resolution graphics. NES SNES N64 GameCube Gamboy Adapter which plays Gameboy, Gameboy color, and Gameboy Advance games Atari Jaguar Atari Jaguar CD Gameroom Classics Mini Arcade Machines The Video is too dark to show a stack of loose 32X carts next to the boxed games.
  5. I have a boxed Memory Card (missing instructions) and 4 complete games. Dragon's Lair (disc has one little blemish), Myst (a couple light scratches on disc), Baldies (some light scratches and Highlander (disc mint). The boxes show wear whether it's a wrinkle or bowing of the cardboard box. Asking $130+pp fee shipped in the US only. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- SOLD I have a Jaguar, Jaguar CD, power supplies, composite cable, 2 controllers, memory cartridge, Cyber Morph cart only, Wolfenstein 3D 9cart, manual and overlay), Vid Grid (many light scratches), Blue Lightning (some scratches, missing overlay), Iron Soldier 2 (loose disc) and I have the manuals for the Jag & CD. The Jag has a little blemish (see pic) while the Jag CD is in really nice shape (mint?). The open latch is a little sticky on the Jag CD but that's no big deal. Asking price $350+PP fee priority shipped in the US only. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I have feedback as synbiosfan at both Game Gavel and Neo_Geo.com http://www.neo-geo.com/forums/itrader.php?u=30321 http://www.gamegavel.com/display_ratings.cgi?view_user=synbiosfan Feel free to ask any questions! Thanks for looking!
  6. I am looking to add primal rage to my collection shortly. It is VERY expensive for the Jaguar CD, and is best played with the pro controllers. Because of this I've been thinking of snagging it on another platform possibly. I was thinking the 32x edition might compare more favorably than the SNES/Genesis ports. Also Genesis 6 button controllers are easier to come by, and I don't feel bad tearing them up with fighting games, whereas I'd be more apt to not use Pro Controllers for a fighting game that will put lots of hard use on them. What are your thoughts on the 32x Primal Rage vs the Jaguar CD game? Any other ports I should be considering that are good adaptations of the arcade game? Thanks. I have been reading the Jag V. 32x post, which is excellent, but doesn't quite answer these questions within the greater picture of prices and rarity today. http://atariage.com/forums/topic/107368-jaguar-vs-32x/?hl=%20primal%20%20rage%20%20vs%20%2032x

  8. So I'm a long time Nintendo collector, and new to the Jag scene, so feel free to berate me for asking a stupid question, and banish me forever, but why has no one been able to release Battlesphere Gold for the Jag CD? It seems like there are plenty of people who want to play it, and not enough copies to go around. Wouldn't it make sense to do a Jag CD release? I'd snap it right up and I'm sure a few hundred other people would as well.... And I'm sorry I don't want to play it on an emulator! I want to play it on the Jag! I just don't care if it's on a cart or on a CD.
  9. Hey Guys, LONG time reader, first time poster here. I work in a classic game shop here in Dublin, Ireland. My job mainly entails repairing and refurbishing old consoles etc, anything from SNES to Neo Geo, Vectrex to Virtual Boy. I seem to have a knack at fixing these things, decent enough to stay in the job anyway But I find myself stumped... I recently acquired a Jaguar CD to sit atop my beloved Jag. It's probably my favourite console (GameCube and VCS competing), so I was chuffed to find a working unit for a somewhat-decent price. The issue is, it worked on arrival. But ever since, all I've been getting is the infamous Red Screen. I figured out it that this means a connection problem between the console and CD drive, so I disassembled the unit and cleaned the pins, as well as the cartridge slot on the Jaguar itself. I also repeated this inside the CD Unit, where the connector board meets the main board. Everything seems to be completely spotless... and nothing. Still the red screen. The laser will jump slightly, but nothing more. So I cleaned the board, made sure everything was sitting nice and flush in the case. I've heard of the placement of internal components such as the RF shielding causing poor the unit to make an improper connection but this doesn't seem to be the case here. As I said, the unit DID work at first, and has been well treated in my possession. I really love the Jaguar and would love even more if I could get my CD unit working. Help me Atariage, You're my only hope!
