  1. Atari 2600 Replacement Cartridge Labels Pricing per title is based on size, number, and type of material. Many titles are only $2.50 each. Some cost more and a few cost less. If you are interested just message me (pboland) and I can send you my current catalog (too large to post here). Label Making Process: Great care has been taken to make these replacement labels. They are not just simple copies of the originals. Most of the label imagery is rebuilt from the ground up using related print materials, such as manuals, boxes, advertisements, posters and many elements have even been redrawn. Some labels in my catalog have alternate styles. In the case of “Fathom” (pictured above) both a text version or a picture version can be purchased. Most of the replacement labels are printed on six ink photo quality printers, while others are printed on color laser printers (depends on material type). Each label is laminated and computer cut to size to ensure proper fit and shape. All orders are made on demand, so these are not mass produced labels. For that reason I normally need at least a week to put an order together. Depending on order volume it may take up to two weeks to complete an order. PM (personal message) me for current turn around. Ordering information: Please message me (pboland) if interested. I will send you my current catalog and tell you my current turn around. If you can’t find the label you are looking for, be sure to ask. Keep in mind I do have a $25.00 minimum order (not including shipping). Shipping inside the USA is $5.50 (first class mail with tracking). If you are outside the USA please let me know so I can quote you the shipping cost. I invoice via PayPal once your order is ready to ship so I will need your PayPal email address at the time of the order. History: I’ve been a video game collector since 1995 and a member of AtariAge since 2006. I started making replacement labels for myself in the early 2000’s. It wasn’t until 2010 that I made my first replacement label for another person other than myself. I’ve been making them off and on since 2012. I DO NOT sell on eBay. For those that don’t know, I make/design new controller overlays and cart labels (meaning not repros/replacement) for some in the home-brew community and I’ve been doing this since 2012 as well. I can make cart labels for many pre-crash systems. 2. Hello, I have scoured the web and even SoulSeek for these...I tried to buy on eBay but the seller is not responding (I guess he was in the hospital?). For whatever reason, I cannot find free labels ANYWHERE online...Would anyone be so gracious as to send me print quality PNGs or JPEGs of the HERO and BEAMRIDER labels for activision 2600 carts? I would really appreciate it. Would be nice to have them spec to size to be ready to print. If not, could someone kindly give me the correct print dimensions for these labels as well? truly grateful, thanks! Frank
  3. Why 'bear' some 'buddies' price? Let's all chip in and share what we've got... FOR FREE! I'll start it off... This file has your standard strip, TI-Writer, Multiplan and one you all probably do not have, Video Chess! So, what do you all have? Strips001.pdf
  4. Loving Floppy Disks, so I made some labels for the Falcon 030 including: ---General Falcon Disk Labels ---System Disks ---Labels for 2 games (1) Go to a PrintShop with a USB and ask them to print the file on Adhesive Paper (A3) (2) Cut the labels (the size should fit 100% on 3.5 disks) Giorgos https://binaryvalue.com/
  5. So over the last few days, quite a few cartridges started making their way into my collection. I did one major batch/rush over a couple of days to get as many as I could. Just because I'm basically doing reproductions by adding these new labels, I decided to keep the costs reasonable as an additional challenge. Basically keep each cartridge under $10 (Canadian). I was able to do this with the only exception being Robot Tank which ended up being $14. Everything else was from $2 to $10. With eBay I was trying to keep shipping free where possible but tax added a couple of bucks. Overall I got some good deals especially a copy of Frostbite for $2, even though the label was in rough shape. I ended up getting a couple of duplicates, one of Freeway and one Sky Jinks, as in a couple of cases I bought batches. Facebook Marketplace was a great especially since I came across somewhere further south in the province that was shipped at a very reasonable price. That was 7 cartridges there. Found another one in FB for Spider Fighter. On my way to my place up north came across a person selling a bunch for $5 each and picked up 8 carts via Kijiji. Kaboom at a retro video game store for $10+tax. About half a dozen from eBay. I'm still waiting for Megamania, Robot Tank and Starmaster to arrive from a couple separate orders. Weird because these two were from Ontario and I received orders from British Columbia last week; they should have arrived quicker. Interestingly enough, there were 3 carts that were in better shape than the ones I had in my collection, so I swapped those: Commando, Decathlon, and Boxing. Here is the Spider Fighter from last weekend compared to my original copy on the left. Colours are fairly similar. Here is a picture of an immaculate circuit board for Commando (this was my original copy): Here are Enduro, Grand Prix, Seaquest, Pitfall, Hockey and Plaque Attack. Six titles I picked up for $5 each. I got Commando as well, but did it in a separate batch after wanting to compare with my original copy since it was in stellar condition. Here they are again with originals (in the left). Colours as before are not perfect matches, probably because of fading over the years (UV or just oxidation?). Ice Hockey probably glows in the dark. Here are the other 15 I picked up before I removed the labels. Decathlon, Commando and Boxing were my original copies. Some of them were pretty shoddy. Chopper Command must have something spilled into it since I took ages to clean it up without any brown stuff getting wiped (blergh!). River Raid was a mess. Couldn't get the label out after 4 days of having sitting in Goo Gone. I ended taking a Sky Jinks extra cart and re-purposing it (AG-019 for Sky Jinks, AG-020 for River Raid). Strangely enough, the RR had springs, why SJ did not. Here are they with all the new labels. This took 3 days in doing them in batches. And here are all the cartridges done so far. They all work, although some needed some extra cleaning with the contacts with three of them actually needing to be sanded slightly. At this point Megamania, Robot Tank and Starmaster should be done in a few days. I'll keep looking for copies of Barnstorming, Bridge, Checkers, Dragster, Fishing Derby, Skiing and perhaps Pitfall II. I will most likely need to spend more than $10 on some of those titles.
  6. So after some more cleaning, I ended taking another look at the Stampede cartridge and getting its new label attached. The big issue is that the game would not play. I remember that one of the two cartridges wasn't working and simply never got to it. Tried it on my usual 7800 and took out my 2600 as well. It would not work. I tried another alcohol-based clean on the contacts with Q-tips and it wouldn't work. So I gave in and opened the case. The contacts did look very corroded and no amount of alcohol-scrubbing was getting it off. So I took the finest sandpaper I could find and did a gentle scrub of the contacts and cleaned with with alcohol afterwards. I inserted the bare circuit board into the 7800 and the game came up! I wish I had taken a picture, but the interesting thing is that the shielding around the ROM chip (I presume) had "11" written on it on permanent marker. I suspect that this was for the manufacturing line to keep the mystery board clear that it was assigned to Stampede (serial AG-011). The other thing I noticed is that the Goo Gone did also make it into the cartridge. Mostly around the parts where the two halves joined. So what I'll do from now on is to open the cartridges and do a nice clean. Based on my lesson learned before, this time I applied the label from the front first (instead of starting at the top). And here is the comparison with my other cart still with its original label on. It's interesting to see that the hazelnut-brown of the original label which looks better IMHO. The picture makes it look the new label purplish, but it is brown. Here's another picture in different (more natural) light and different background. This picture shows the true tone of brown. So these are all my Activision duplicates relabeled. I will probably have a few more by EOD Monday since I have a couple of purchases scheduled and a few more should trickle in from my eBay orders.
  7. So I did receive the labels yesterday afternoon, which was a great coincidence, since I was just going to prep four cartridges for the eventual arrival of the new labels. I received about 40-50 of them. All the Activision ones and ordered one single Spectravideo cart for Planet Patrol. So I'll start with my dupes: Keystone Kapers, Planet Patrol, Space Shuttle and Stampede. I did do more of a clean, scrapping some of the residue of the Keystone Kapers and Planet Patrol cartridges a bit more. The Spectravideo cart has the infamous hole in the front where a bunch of Goo Gone ended up seeping in, so that took a while to clean up properly. Here are the Space Shuttle, Keystone Kapers and Planet Patrol carts all cleaned up. The Stampede one still has a lot of residue on the end label, so I will let soak a bit more in the Goo Gone and do a clean later today. I ended up using rubbing alcohol (weird, how during the pandemic this was so hard to find), a screen cleaning cloth, compressed air and q-tips. The Spectravideo cart is especially a dust magnet. I ended up cleaning it like 4-5 times to get all the specks of dust away. Adding the labels was easy. They do feel thicker and harder than the original labels. I started at the top label for the Activision carts (more on that below). So here's the Keystone Kapers cart with the new label. And here's a side-by-side comparison with the other one in my collection still with the original label on. The richness of the colours come through, although the green on the department store walls is significantly lighter. And here is the Space Shuttle cartridge with the new label. And here's a comparison of my other with the original label. I'd say that this is one of the carts with the best condition label I have in my collection. And now here is the Planet Patrol cart with the new labels on it. Note the bits of dust still there. I was trying to get the top label dead-centre, which is easier said than done. And here's a side-by-side comparison with the other in my collection, which is in great condition (this is from a CIB copy I have). The scuffs are certainly more noticeable in the original and the colours have lost some of their shine. A couple lessons learned: - I should have started applying the new Activision labels from the front section rather than the top label. Looking at the originals, the edge is lined up more with the front - The soak method wasn't great for the Spectravideo cart with its hole. Even though the old label was on, the Goo Gone seeped in and was a hassle to clean out completely - In case of the Planet Patrol cart, I wish I had disassembled it and given it a cleansing bath. Would have quicker and more thorough. I will probably do Stampede later.
  8. Sorry for stealing the title of another very popular thread I can't do this because I don't know how, but maybe someone could help @Mr Robot? Would it be possible to make labels that goes on the bottom of Atari hardware? Those are often in bad shape, or can get easily damaged during cleaning and restoration. It would be nice if there was a template and tutorial how to modify them, to list mods done to the machine. For example ATARI 130XE, Ultimate1MB, Sopihia2, Stereo etc. Maybe we could agree on one common format of such label. How to deal with the serial numbers?
  9. the activision labels for the Atari 2600 really deteriorate over time. So for those games I usually make a new label. Here is a Megamania label I created. It's a cleaned up scanned label so it would keep the original look.
  10. Does anyone know the dimensions of the label holder for the ti-99/4a. I am planning on making a 3D model and print ing it. I currently do not have one on my ti-99.
  11. I came across two different label variations of Xevious, originally thinking that one must be a reproduction. I read about the different label styles at http://www.atariprotos.com/other/labelvar/7800/7800labelvar.htm but the site says nothing about subtle variations of the same style. At the bottom of the two labels one says "Printed in Hong Kong", and the other says "Printed in Taiwan". I believe the Taiwan style is the one that is uploaded in the label archives on Atariage. Does anyone have any information on Atari 7800 label variations?
  12. I got a copy of Q*Bert and Frogger for the 5200 recently. But they're missing labels completely. Is there a place where I can obtain labels for printing? I've tried Google but all I come up with all 'Top End Labels' for Square 5200 carts primarily. :-/.
  13. I don't know what your Data Age carts look like, but mine didn't look that great. The truth is, trying to just repair the label is a no go. There is no good way to go about it. So, I decide to just remake the entire label. These are not perfect reproduction as I'm unable to print the color "white". For that reason I did change the Data Age logo and titles to "black" (which is used by Date Age on a couple titles so it's not totally unoriginal). Also, the foil label material is a little more shiny than the original. I think over all they turned out well. Taking pictures of foil labels is a little tricky (a lot of reflection). I'm hoping to do a short video to show how these look in normal light and how to replace the label. All my labels are laminated and computer cut to fit the carts they are designed for. If you guys are interested in buying some of these replacement labels just PM me. I have these titles: - Airlock - Bermuda Triangle - Bugs - Encounter At L5 - Frankensteins Monster - Journey Escape - Sssnake - Warplock They are a little pricy at $5.00 each (in some cases more expensive than the carts themselves) so obviously these would be for those that really want their carts to look good. I do have a minimum purchase of $20.00 (not including shipping). Shipping is $7.00 priority inside the USA, $15.00 first class to Canada, and $22.00 anywhere else). Just PM me if you are interested. If you guys have any questions at all, please do not hesitate to ask.
  14. Many of my Apple II disks have had the glue dry and the labels drop off. Any recommendations for glue that will work well and not do any damage or bleed through for the most part?
  15. This is strictly a "just for fun" thread. I'll start with this GEM of an IS2 label. Post your best finds here, OEM, Homebrew, or Repro, we don't discriminate.
  16. Silver/Foil Atari 7800 Labels (test print) I'm currently working on Atari 2600 Sliver/Foil reproduction labels (pictured below). I'm looking at the possibility of making 7800 foil labels as well. Pictured above is my test print of a cartridge face label (1984 style). I could make them in the pictured 1984 style or the newer 1986 and on style. All of which would be in color of course. Please keep in mind a couple things: I can not print the color white. Anything white will be printed as transparent and therefor will be sliver/foil. Also it's difficult to properly photograph sliver/foil surfaces. They tend to come out looking very dark. Let me know what you guys think.
  17. OK, let's try this once again. What do you folks think of the end cap labels that I remade from scratch. Did I miss any variations? Spell check appreciated too. Printed these on standard paper so not finished yet. Be kind, remember I am an amateur. Thanks!
  18. I just noticed this in a lot I recently picked up. The DK text is completely devoid of the red and yellow ink. As the title says is this a label variant or misprint?
  19. I need some help on a project i'm working on, which would be making an old "Combat" cart into a different cart... Now don't worry, I'm not doing this to resell it as a "Super Rare" Game, just as a kind of title credit to a short film i'm working on. Steps including template for printing? Pasting the printed image on the cart (Best bonding solution, that won't bleed through)
  20. Hi! I have written some cool things on the VCS in the past 3 months but now I have started a big - and quick - project. I want to do a demo and I tought I can made it load the different parts from a table of addresses. Basically I want to load the picture drawing code sequentially using an address table. But how can I know the addresses of the start of the parts? I know labels are for that, but can I store them somehow in a table? And how? And how can I read the addresses back from table to JSR them? Can I use bankswitching with this? Please help me with this! The VBLANK and - mostly - the Overscan part will be the same - and used up pretty much all avaible cycles - so I don't want to waste space by copying them in all parts... I have 1 month to finish the whole thing. Effects are more or less done. I have ordered the Harmony cart - but didn't get confirmation on the posting so I'm afraid it will not arrives in time or at all.
  21. some of my games (fortunately not many) have their labels fallen off ,what type of glue can i use in order to reattach them without damaging the exposed circuit board?
