ProjectY It's ProjectY - the RPB you've been waiting for since the 90s! WIP @ 's Magical Game Factory. The Origins For the first time ever, fans of retro consoles are getting exactly the game they want! And they want a RPB! Investors, as they are called, have used their voting power to shape ProjectY to their own liking. Their first poll result was to make a game for the Mega Drive/Genesis. Then came the decision to make the game a RPB (Role-Playing-Brawler). The final big turn for the project was the setting, which the investors decided should be cyberpunk. With these defining poll results, ProjectY started to take shape while additional minor polls followed. Development is currently ongoing; you can still join ProjectY and shape the game by voting, submitting your ideas and discussing the project on the boards! 40MEG Obtained with fervor by the investors, we can guarantee the game will have a bare minimum 40 megabits cartridge. ProjectY is joining the small club of High Density Cartridges (also known as the "big, black cartridges"). This will be at least the second biggest Mega Drive/Genesis game ever, after WaterMelon's own Pier Solar! With this much storage at our disposal, we can make the ultimate 16-bit beat 'em all! Also obtained by the investors, the game will feature four playable characters, one of them to be unlocked. The Context ProjectY takes place in a post-apocalyptic world, set in an Asian high-tech metropolis. The last survivors of the nuclear war are divided into several classes, where the most powerful have the others by the balls. This has divided the governing bodies into several fractions, where ethnic mafias and a corrupt corporation are just a few of them! As you can see, this story is filled with many possible scenarios. It will demand lots of exploring and several playthroughs to get everything out of it. WHY SHOULD I JOIN AND INVEST? How do I join a project? If a project is open to join, you can join by investing at least one GEM into the project. What are GEMS? How much do they cost? GEMS are Watermelon's currency. As for now, one GEM is equal to 10 cents (USD) with the possibility of changing later on. You can use GEMS to invest in a project. If you earn some GEMS, you can use them to get discounts on products, get coupons, etc. What do I get for my investment in a project? Magical Game Factory investments offer access to voting and conversion features. How much do I have to invest to save myself one copy of the game? 500GEMS (USD 50) for one edition of the game reserved exclusively to Investors. Hi everyone, its finally happened, I'm at the point where I'm ready to start unloading my collection. I wanted to give you guys the good folks at AA first crack at anything you might be interested in. This list contains something like 350 games, so unfortunately I'm going to start if off as a list with no pictures. These games are in various states of conditions, but assume the vast majority of them are working, have been played by me personally, and are usually in PAL UK version where applicable. Some of the older stuff like the master system might be Japanese or US copies, but generally is not an issue. If I own it, I can play it on a European console, as that's my near exclusive limit (outside a neo geo AES - not being sold!). Some are boxed, some are not. Some have instructions, some do not. They are all unsealed, there is no Wata level quality here. I'm a gamer, and these games were played. Please PM for interest in items, I can send prices for those games with images of boxes, manuals and state of disk/cart. Use this topic for general queries. I might be able to do pictures of specific collections of things, but nothing is in an easy to view format right now other than this list. Some things I can do prices now, but the lists are far too big. I'll try and update with time if I can. Hopefully obvious, but my native country is England, United Kingdom, prices will be in GBP £££ but will happily convert to your local currency, and give you potential postage to your country - just let me know where you live! Big orders I will try to do free postage, but all orders will be tracked shipping. If you live in Manchester/Liverpool, Cheshire, Birmingham area, Gloucestershire or Wiltshire we can discuss potential dropping off/meet instead, but note I live in Cheshire. About 6 months ago I started this topic: This was me processing letting go of significant number of games. Soon after I put my house on the market, and bought my next one up. In the process this took a backseat - and initially I had boxed about 100 games I was "ready" in mind to sell. This has now increased to something like 350, including PC games (hence why I'm going to start with lists, then will do pictures as requested). A few other things have happened, the work on the house has cost us considerably more than we planned, and the profit from the first house has already emptied to 0. We also had our car break down on moving day, and this caused issues with our buyers which cost us more money. The car has now fully broken down and we have had to borrow money to buy a 'new' (and by new, I mean 15 year old!) car. This is a bit of a boo-hoo story I know, but it leads to me realising that I have boxes full of cash I just need to get rid of, and I might be able to pay off the debt at least. I would also like to make sure I can manufacture some more Odyssey 1 multicards which I was planning on doing this month, but due to car - needs potentially delaying. Anyway... onto the list. I think there will be another cull at some point, but this is "second wave" culling and includes games like Zelda that I thought I would never get rid of. I've decided to get rid of my entire collection of N64 games, but don't get excited most are unboxed and all are relatively common-uncommon. PC: I need to form a list of PC games but I have already divided some up into prices, these are mostly "big box" games, though a mix of CD and floppy disk. If anyone is interested I'll try and develop a list asap. DOUBLES: These are just doubles I have for sale, I won't be selling any other games for these systems (1st, 2nd and selected 3rd gen consoles) Magnavox Odyssey: Volleyball boxed and complete. I'll take £90 for it as someone on ebay is going for that much. Atari 2600: Would probably sell both these games for a £5 to get rid of it. Both loose. Pac Man (double) Pitfall (double, I don't think this works on all 2600 machines... rubbish label before you ask) Voltmace Database (This is a 1292 alternative system, there is an adapter to use it in more common formats like the acetronic system, but I'm not selling it!): Various games, many boxed with instructions £10 each, 2 loose with instructions, £5 each. Collections being sold off: These are 1st and 2nd wave removals from my collections, other than the N64 which I'm selling fully there may be other games on these systems I'm selling in the future. Stuff like Neo Geo, Atari, Amiga and Philips alongside 32x, Mega CD, 3DO and TG16 etc are currently intending to be kept. NES: Adventures of Bayou Billy, The Bubble Bobble Donkey Kong Double Dragon III - The Sacred Stones Dr. Mario Duck Hunt Excitebike Golf Iron Sword: Wizards and Warriors 2 Jack Nicklaus 18 holes Kickle Cubicle Lemmings Mission: Impossible Pac-Man Super Off Road (Ivan Ironman Stewarts) Super Mario Bros. - Duck Hunt Teenage Mutant Hero Turtles Zelda II - The Adventure of Link Sega Master System: Note some of these are US or Japanese carts, but work on PAL machines too. Most are boxed, but no instructions, so I'm cutting down the price on most of them. Ok, so in this thread there's a lot to talk about, and I also needed to split Sega's 8-bit systems into another topic so I can focus on the 16-bit hardware, this is a sequel to the threads I made about clones of the NES and SNES: (In retrospect, the SNES thread looks very incomplete and doesn't have a lot of information and details) So, I just want to start with the fact that no clone console is ever going to have 100% compatibility, even FPGA ones, why? Because there's also no Mega Drive official model that has 100% compatibility, see, unlike Nintendo, Sega didn't thought the world would get tired of their games if they kept releasing new models every year or gave a license to third parties to do so. So I am going to list some of the specific models that have their own software just as an idea, a Mega Drive PC, a module for a computer that plays Laser Disk versions of Sega CD games, as well as some exclusive games, 3 arcade boards variations, and two Brazilian models that have either 4 EA games or a Guitar Hero clone (guitar peripheral included). Now, taking these uncommon models aside and considering just the main ones there's still a lot to discuss, like: Sega CD support The only modern clone that can use the Sega CD on the expansion port is the Analogue Mega SG, and it still has some small problems, the reason why it's the only one is because companies don't think it's worth it putting the expansion port there since the add-on isn't that popular, but many clones have support for the Terraonion Mega SD that plugs in the cartridge port. 32X support Nope, there isn't a single one, but Krikkz seems to be developing a 32X clone that will work on modern systems, we just need to wait. Now, for the sake of simplicity I'm going to define three levels of compatibility, original models(it plays "everything"), Genesis 3(small incompatibilities with some games, doesn't even start others) and Nomad(doesn't play some games simply because it's portable). So, to start things out I'm going to talk about the special clones so I can get them out of the way. Atgames/Genesis Mini Android Clones There are some clones that use systems similar or almost identical to the emulated systems licensed or made by Sega in the past, these have SD and cartridge ports included, the drawbacks are the fact they are emulated, so, only games that just have a simple ROM file. Portable/Nomad Clones These are on the same level of an actual Nomad but with problems similar to the ones found in the Genesis 3, interestingly, I found some clones that have exactly the same outsides as the Atgames portables, but with cartridge slots, some with custom designs, and a clone on a cartridge that can plug into some portable SNES clones. Clone Consoles Now, one of the things that held me from doing this is the weird compatibility with these clones, first, there are only Systems-on-a-Chip(technically on 2 chips since there's also the 8-bit one) available on the market currently, no full hardware clones. But to the clones themselves, they seem to use the same chips with little variation, but compatibility and quality are wildly different for each one, most surpass Genesis 3 compatibility by not too much, but others don't. A common problem that I found is the Mono audio, the only one with Stereo audio that I found is the Hyperkin Mega Retron HD. Since there are too many special cartridges for the Mega Drive I'm going to list the issues on another day

Sacred Line II is a brand new adventure game being made exclusively for Sega Mega Drive / Genesis, which serves as both a sequel and a prequel to Sacred Line Genesis. It follows the story of Sarah, a girl with a troubled past, who was kidnapped by the religious cult Svete Namjere ("Holy Intentions"). She dies after being attacked by one of the cult members, but then comes back to the world of the living aided by a mysterious force. Set in the year 1999 of an alternate reality world, where Yugoslavia still exists, she tries to keep it from crumbling. The game is about 2-3 times bigger than Sacred Line Genesis, featuring more exploration options, puzzles and battles. Status: 95% Complete Finished game date: March 2022 Official page: http://sashadarko.com/sacred-line-ii/ As for the cartridge release: there's a publisher who is interested in releasing the game on cartridges, but it all depends on me providing a satisfiable product. There are two special options available for a limited time for people who wish to support the game financially and become a part of it. You will get a beta version of the game before its release after the and you will get a full version once it's finished, along with the soundtrack. One of these two options is to become a Founder of the game, your name will be mentioned in the Credits as a significant person who helped make it happen and you will also get a separate version with your name being featured in the game main menu. There's also an option to get your own personal DLC Game with a Survivor story where you are the hero inside the game world, featuring your own adventure. It will be finished in 21 days after the order and you will get a full game with an unique script having over 10.000+ characters, 10+ new graphics scenes and a new soundtrack (with at least three music tracks). More info on the game page: http://sashadarko.com/sacred-line-ii/ Screenshots:

I Am a Child from the Dawn of the Video Game Age
GrizzLee posted a topic in Show Us Your Collection!
My Retro/Vintage Gaming Hobby I Am a Child from the Dawn of the Video Game Age Taking a side trip here away from my adventures here. Anyone who knows me personally, can attest that I am somewhat of a geek and so it’s no surprise that I became an mechanical/aerospace engineer by trade. With that stated, I always had an interest in building things and tinkering with electronics, etc.. As I was growing up in the 70's I was fortunate to experience and be able to participate in the dawn of a new era. It all started simple enough with my father coming back from a business trip in Texas one year with one of the first ever digital calculators. I was hooked. I loved the display, the tactile feel of the buttons and the ease of use. I was further inspired when I saw advanced calculators becoming available and even into my high school and college years where I always had to have the latest programmable calculators for my science, math and eventually engineering courses. Now this seems pretty minor in this day and age, but back then, looong before cell phones, home computers, high level object oriented programming languages, etc.. this was an exciting era for me. Read more here... http://rubikonadventures.blogspot.com... A long time friend of mine came by for a visit one day and asked if it was OK to shoot video of my old video game collection and my "man cave" where I hibernate during the winter months when I am not out exploring. Enjoy another facet of my persona here: https://youtu.be/818OZog0Y4I Me Meeting Nolan Bushnell, Founder of Atari and founder of the industry. -

I've heard some good things about the Genesis's racing games library, and with my recent acquisition of my very own console, I was hoping that some of y'all could fill me in on some of the good racing games to try. I've currently got Super Monaco GP, and Hard Drivin' in my collection, I'm just curious as to what else I could add in the future. Sports games are a genre I haven't really dabbled in much, but from what I've heard, the Genesis is basically the go-to console for 90s sports games. Seriously, from what I can tell there were an ungodly amount of sports games released for it. With that said, what do you think the best ones are?
