  1. I am wondering how many of you have Ultimate 1MB or another 1mb or 4mb upgrade plus stereo pokey sound and fast loading from SD or sio2USB or similar device... I am doing little research. And how many of you will be able to pay 5-10usd/euro for game every half of year. Its good information not only for me but for others too. With 1088xel this will be standard...So lets use XEL word for such games or apps/demos specs... I own: 1x Ultimate 1mb, Raster Stereo, Raster SDrive all in Atari130XE
  2. Hello, I just looking for some info about copy files .atr or other files can be copied to real Disk on Indus GT Disk Drive. Is this possible?. If it is possible, how is the process? Comments, suggests i will apreciate. Thanks.
  3. Is anyone selling these still? I'd eventually like to move away from disc based media, as it's unreliable and fragile as hell. I seen these in the past for 3DO, Saturn, and PS1, but not much on them lately. Any news on the USB adaptor that replaces the 3DO laser and you can load rom images from? Thanks.
  4. Is there a way to get games to save data when using the Atarimax MyIde 2 ? When using the MyIde 2, I noticed that when i play a game which saves high scores, etc, it isn't there the next time i power up and load the game again via MyIde 2. Do programs running on the computer ( in this case i use with 800XL and 130XE machines) have the ability to write data to the SD card in the Myide 2? Thanks! -Eric
  5. This is intended as a quick guide for folks who may come across a used SatanDisk and want to transfer some files from a Windows type PC to an SD card for use on their Atari ST computer. There are more detailed resources on the web that cover all the ins and outs and potential pitfalls or alternate methods but I will try to keep this a simple and brief description of what worked for me. Your mileage may vary as they say. First, this is for the original (now out of production) SatanDisk not Ultra Satan. 1. Have an Atari ST with TOS 1.04 or better. 2. Have HDDriver on ST floppy disk. 3. Have a 512mb SD card. Use a Windows PC to format the SD card as FAT (not FAT 32) Put the SD card in the SatanDisk and the HDDriver floppy in your ST and boot the ST Switch to medium resolution if you have a color monitor. Load HDDRUTIL.APP from the floppy. On the Hard Disk drop down menu select Partition. It will tell you a capacity value for your card. Enter a slightly smaller number on line 0 right hand column under heading MiB. Click on Compatability button then next to where it says Windows check Tos & Windows Click OK and click through the next few dialogs to complete the partition of the SD Reboot the ST Load HDDriver from floppy again From the File drop down menu select install HD Driver and click OK (or whatever to install the driver on the SD). From the General drop down menu Next to Cache for FAT change 10 to 2 Next to Cache for Data change 10 to 2 Next to Additional Folders change 100 to 0 Click OK or whatever it says to accept/save those values From the File drop down menu select install HD Driver and overwrite the previously installed HD Driver. Reboot the ST. If all went well your SD card will look like one large hard drive to ST and Windows will also be able to see it and read / write files on the SD card when you insert it into a PC. This process worked for an Atari 1040STf with 1MB and TOS upgraded to 1.04. By default HD Driver configures without the ability to transfer files between TOS and Windows and also configures itself some nice fat caches. I assume the author had a higher end ST or a TT or Falcon. Reducing those caches will allow the smaller memory machines to run more programs. Good luck.
  6. Hello. Does anyone know what the best way to read .dsk images via SD card is for an MSX2? The one I have has only 64K of RAM and doesn't have a disk drive. However, it does have the standard two cartridge slots. It's a Sony HB-T7
  7. OK well, i got my flashback about a week ago not only because I loved most of the pre bundled games that came with it, but the idea of being able to add roms sold me! Now onto the problem..... First let me say, YES ive read every FAQ, help, and such thread on this issue. My flashback will NOT read my SD card UNLESS....I put the card in while the system is already powered on. Ive tried 3 diff cards; 8GB SDHC, 4GB SDHC, 2GB SD. Ive used the recommended formatter software, the games are in the correct extension (first letter uppercase, rest lowercase). Ive created the "game" folder. I know the roms work because like i said the system reads the card IF i put it in while the system is already on. Help on this please?
  8. Hi I apologize if this is a common question but a search didnt yield any good matches. I have a reasonable collection of atari's but frankly havent been really using them much. Recently I got a Falcon and installed a new CF card in it from Best. I wanted to transfer a bunch of games to it that I have either sitting on my mac or that is on an SD that is formatted / works with an ultrasatan controller on a regular ST. I tried the SD with the falcon and it doesnt recognize it (people in the know are probably laughing at me now saying they are of course totally different). How does one "en-mass" copy stuff from an old ST Hard disk (effectively) to a falcon? Thanks in advance. humbly Chris
