I was unable to find any mention of this at the forum so sorry if this has already been posted, but I have just found out that the Atari Turbo Basic source code had been released back in May 2017. You can find it here: https://atariwiki.org/wiki/Wiki.jsp?page=TURBO-BASIC+XL#section-TURBO-BASIC+XL-SourceCode This could make for an interesting study material and maybe even for improvements to the Altirra Basic.
At the end of January I delivered a 35 minutes presentation about the VCS, its history and architecture and how to code for it using WUDSN IDE. Especially the live coding part was very appreciated by the audience. Changing a single line of code and seeing immediately what happens brings you as close a possible to the machine. The recording of the presentation is now available on my youtube channel. The slides (PDF) and the sources can be downloaded from here. I recommend you open the slides in parallel, so you can read the content and code correctly. Thanks to Julien for the event and SvOlli for the slide templates. Nothing new for most people who have already found their way into this forum probably, but maybe something you can share with others to givem an idea esp. how a full roundtrip "code, compile, run" can look like. And sorry for spelling it "two thousand six hundert" instead of "twenty six hundered". I German we only count that way up to 1999 :-)
