So after years of foot dragging I finally got a steam. It works well and is a pretty intuitive program and game launcher. Digital games are nearly worthless to me....but....I can't help like i'm getting a good deal if i'm only paying .97 cents for a game when some of the crazy sales going on. A few questions: -How would you integrate a game you didn't buy on steam into the launcher? -How is GOG in comparison as far as ease of use goes? Seems more up my alley as far as the retro catalog, but harder to get games to run? Anyway, seems like many games don't need a particularly powerful machine to run on, and lots of good legacy titles. For anyone who's been holding out i'd say go for it. Cheers'

LIFT OFF FOR NEW BUBSY GAME! EVERYTHING IS GO GO GO
doctorclu posted a blog entry in Bubsy Bobcat Fan Blog
Today is release day (10 am PST, or 12 pm CST for us here in Texas) for the new Bubsy game.. The Woolies Strike Back. Of course for myself, SpongeFox, Robert R, Gold Leader, Jinroh, and other Bubsy fans over the years, this day is also... HALLOWEEN!!! Hahah... Latest fan art from SpongeFox who has contributed Bubsy art over the years, and who doodled art while we talked to Michael Berlyn and Faran Thomason a while back. So this is it folks, the release day for the new Bubsy game and already even before I can get my Bubsy copy out of Game Stop prison.. er. official release time, there are those that found copies and already made reviews even showing all the bosses in the game... What I am hearing is the game is fun, and as Robert R commented, there are many new moves that look inspired by the ScratchPad Bubsy such as breaking through walls and climbing moves. I can definiately see that, and am looking forward to this game when I get off work today. In the meantime, "Bubsy" is answering questions as previously advertised. It was a bit hard to track at first as I was looking in the Bubsy and Bubsy24x1 twitter feeds, Even checked the steam chatroom. However, then I got an answer to my question... I eventually realized that you have to check Bubsy's replies at the following link... https://twitter.com/BubsyThe_Bobcat/with_replies Some of the responses are hilarious so check it out! And with about six hours till release time you could probably still send off a question to #bubsy24x1 and maybe get an answer! More Bubsy news coming soon! ---- SPEACIAL NEWS FLASH... BUBSY WEARS PANTS!!! ------- (And a special 34% offer for the PC release plus free OST, but seriously, for the first time in 25 years Bubsy wears PANTS!!) Dream come true for some fans... film at 11...- 1 comment

I have a ton of consoles and games, and a few old computers, but I don't really do much "modern" gaming. The newest systems I have (and will likely ever have at this point) are Wii U and PS3. I have a friend who is a retro gamer and keeps talking about steam, and how great it is. Can anyone explain how it works, what it is, and why it is a good thing for retro gamers. Does it suffer from the same update/always online issues as modern consoles? Will I have to re-buy games every few years? Are there compatibility issues (i.e games run poorly on an average laptop, you need a gaming PC.) Please school me on what the hell steam is and if it's worth my time. Thanks in advance!

It's so Earthbound, and so adorable, that I wish it was on more than just Steam!

I'm new to mixing video and audio with OBS and Soundflower so this is a work in progress.

Sounds like a pretty good idea: http://www.sega.co.uk/news/sega-mega-drive-classics-hub 'The new-look system is based on a bedroom of an early nineties SEGA fan with dynamic time-of-day conditions, retro SEGA paraphernalia, a shelf full of MEGA Drive games (including the ones you own) and of course a CRT TV! That’s not all, every single MEGA Drive game will now feature Steam Workshop support allowing you share modified versions of your favourite retro SEGA titles!'

Hi Atari fans, my name is Mirek. :-) Me and my brother Sebastian, like many of you, were raised on the 8 bit Atari and now we're working together on our first game - Box Kid Adventures. It's a top-down puzzle game, with action elements, where you play as Box Kid - a toy made out of carboard - going through various levels, full of nasty enemies and brain challenging puzzles. It offers simple but deep gameplay, that refers to classic games like: Robbo, Boulder Dash, Sokoban or Chip's Challenge. Short story: "In the age of electronics, the toy-robots became kids favorite playthings. However, young, ambitious designer, created a new toy. A Kid. A Box Kid! A toy made out of cardboard. A toy that should breathe life into the world of imagination. But company's CEO wasn't impressed by that idea and he threw Box Kid into the garbage chute... But was that the real reason? Unveil the truth, as you help Box Kid discover his destiny!" We submitted Box Kid to the Steam Greenlight, so if you like it, please consider voting: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=509854181 We'll appreciate your help and feedback. :-) http://boxkidadventures.com/ http://trexinteractive.com/ https://twitter.com/trexinteractive https://www.facebook.com/BoxKidAdventures https://www.facebook.com/TRexInteractive http://www.indiedb.com/games/box-kid-adventures Cheers, Mirek

Today I just want to ask what everyone's favorite game of 2015 was. It can be a next gen console game, Steam game, homebrew title, or anything else you can think of. My favorite was Undertale (on Steam). It's a retro styled RPG that does it all: it's original, difficult but not too hard, has amazing replay value, hilarious, has a deep story, amazing music (you telling me you haven't seen the million hopes and dreams remixes on youtube), and best of all is only $10! Rant away!

Okay so I've been having problems with Steam with installing and updating games like Left 4 Dead and Garry's Mod so I ask Steam support for help what do they tell me they tell me on how to fix the problem like three or four times and I did still doesn't work so I ask them again they say the same thing over and over again still not working anyone have this kind of problem besides me? I know I'm supposed to be asking for help from Steam but they're not much help so if anyone up here can tell me how to fix the problem I'd appreciate it and all. If anyone needs more info on what my problem is with the installing/ updating then here it is. Everytime I try updating Garry's Mod it keeps saying Queued and I try different servires and etc. but that doesn't help one bit any ideas how I can fix it? Thanks

This game is seriously awesome. Not without its faults, but since it's still in alpha stage, I'm forgiving. Even if nothing gameplay-wise is altered, I'm still very happy with it. It really reminds me of that old school feel, the kind you get from Crazy Taxi or even Twisted Metal, with a good, solid core of Road Rash within. Playing it gives you a rush, something you don't get from slow games like Civ 5 or Skyrim or even many of these modern FPS's. These are the kind of modern games I wish developers would make. Anyone else kickstart it/plan on buying it?
