I much prefer battling robots to battling viruses, so I've been inside spending a lot of time on Berzerk in the last few weeks. I wrote up an animated strategy guide and attempted to backwards engineer the AI. So tell me about your experiences with the game. Are the ports any good? And why doesn't Evil Otto have his own game yet?

So I recently got asked by a friend to make a reproduction Box for the Game Air Support. The only problem here is that I can not find any picture of the box. The only thing I found was this redesign: https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/15354/my-remastered-atari-800-covers-and-logos-recorded-videos Where I think he mistook Air Support with a different Air Game by English Software. The actual game is by Synapse. Does anyone have a copy that could be scanned ? Help would be very much appreciated. Cheers'

I picked up Championship Rally at Portland Retro this weekend and I’m looking for strategies for Tournament mode. I haven’t yet beaten the first circuit...I can reliably get 2nd in every race, but can’t quite rack up 8 points. some questions for you all: 1. Braking (button B) doesn’t seem to do anything in tournament mode. I feel like it’s the same as just letting off the gas. Am I doing it wrong? Should I be doing some heel-toe motions? 2. What’s up with that moveable bush on the Desert map? It’s at the first turn, and I don’t believe any of the others are moveable... 3. What’s the best path on the City map? Should I take the first left, or the second? 4. Any tips for getting into first place?

So after playing through Treasure Island Dizzy the other night I thought i'd give this a whirl. My first thought is: What a beautiful game and high production value to boot. This is as stunning now as it was when it first came out. My game lasted about 20 minutes; and I got my rear handed to me. So my questions are as follows: 1. What is the best (i.e.) easiest character to start with of the four if you are just starting out? 2. Is it possible to increase your income in the game? Or can you only do that by conquest? I found it hard to afford more than soldiers and could never afford knights/cavalry or anything higher. 3. When i would go to conquest, it would say "you have no army" even though i had 8-12 troops. What qualifies as an army? 4. When i would raid castles, it seems like one button is strike, one is block. I couldn't block much. Seemed like i would take an obligatory amount of hits no matter what. Should I be backing up? What is the best way to do this sword-fighting mini-game? 5. At a certain point i had to go save a maiden; which i did (it was awesome!) Even brought Robin Hood along with me. but then i was attacked from all sides. A "what is your strategy" window popped up. I was pondering what to do next for all of five seconds when it dissapeared and I lost the game. Didn't realize it was that fast!! When you have seconds to consider on these; what is the best option to pick quickly to try to get a leg up? 6. Jousting--never had the money to do this. 7. What is your general winning strategy/strategies for this game? Can't wait to give it another few goes and hear from you all as to your thoughts on the various aspects of this beautiful game.

Se we had Gridrunner in the HSC recently and I really enjoyed playing it and want to bump up my score. I think i hit 63k or so recently. Since the game was an easter egg and not in the manual, the controls and "tips" aren't in there like for the other games which makes that a little harder. I reached out to CJ RE controls: a/b are the shooty things c pause # * As far as I can tell: a-holding locks secondary ship/shoots, pressing brings it toward you from wherever it is on the map b-Shoots c-Superzapper type weapon, turns all ships on screen into bonus llamas, but I think costs you one life pause- pauses game #-back to game *-restart And for strategy: -Watch for ships coming from the bottom of the screen, you can see their outline before they pop up usually -Collect bonus llamas when you see them for extra points -Avoid lazer hits from roving mechs on top/side of screens -Shoot ship trains when they are turning to take them all out at once (a la Centipede) I noticed near the end of the second level a missile shoots up from the bottom of the screen and kills you. Is there any way to avoid this? I'm usually pretty short on lives by then and it's ended my game twice now. Any thoughts on this or any other Gridrunner strategy would be much appreciated. Hi, Well with AtariVox+ support on hold, I am interested in knowing how you would like me to proceed. There are 2 types of game types I would like to use for my game. Read the descriptions below and vote on the poll on your favorite. The winner will be considered as a possibility for the game's new type. Strategy: In this genre type, you control the president via the keypad controller. You enter commands via the keypad buttons in the order you would like to execute them. After entering the desired commands you press another button and the commands are run in the order they are entered until they are all executed. Your goal is the reach the goal in the least amount of commands. You will be able to hear speech and save your high score via the AtariVox+ when available. The Atarivox+ is not necessary and would be optional. Having one would add additional features. Simulation: In this genre type, you take care of the president via feeding and training him(think Tamagotchi). Over time he will become stronger and fight the invading creatures. There is the possibility of having different carts with different creatures you can train. One thing I was thinking was having presidents fight each other via a special "tournament" cart. You will be able to hear speech and save your stats via the AtariVox+ when available. The Atarivox+ is not optional and not having it would make the game incompletable. Regards, Heroes & Shadow

Hi I played first Atari 2600 game ever yesterday (Dragster) and today the second one (Barnstorming) in Stella emulator. Only because of stumbling over this controversy of impossible scores after a video about this somehow ended up in YouTube video suggestions.This stuff about 5.51 being impossible in Dragster and that the world record holder as some say already may have a impossible record in another game: Barnstorming where some say it was shown that his record/time is impossible to reach even if you hack the game to remove all obstacles and you fly the plane straight all the time. Others say the guy uses some special strategy which almost no one knows and that's why he is so fast. So I have been playing Barnstorming today in Stella emulator and I noticed that it is possible to fly into barns - which pushes the plane back a bit - but still get the score counter decreased just like you were flying threw the barn. And since you were pushed back, you can fly through the exact same barn once again. So you can get score going from 10 to 9, then 9 to 8 with the single first barn. No need to fly to second barn to get score to 8. Could this be the special strategy? Or is this a long known feature/bug/cheat?

Hi, I am just learning my way around the 7800 scene. And I used to be more active in the Colecovision scene. But I had not enough time for so many different Consoles. My main systems are the C64 & Atari 2600 so it just seemed natural when I needed to replace my 2600 to get a 7800. I really think there's a lot of potential with the 7800 but as I am new I don't know how big the Homebrew base is that would support more homebrew projects. So I started this thread to put out there what I would like to see done. I really would like to see more classic 80's arcade ports like in the Colecovision scene. But I also would like to see some multiplayer strategy games like M.U.L.E, that I think was on the 5200 and some classic games like Archon, Mail order Monsters. Anyway this is just my humble attempt to get the conversation started between 7800 gamers & home brew developers. Thanks to all who contribute. -

Hey everyone! I'm working on a strategy game for the Atari 2600 called "Reiki", (which translates to "Empire" in the old Gothic language). It's pretty simple at the moment, text, some simple graphics. Basically, your the leader of a old Germanic tribe and you must trade for goods and keep your cities/empire in line. Every so often other Gothic tribes and even the Romans will attack you. The goal is to survive the longest and get the most wealth possible. -- Josh
