I have long wondered how Atari built the series of games and their versions. To this end, I started researching the subject. My name is Daniel Medina and in this topic I would like to present my research project for the reconstruction of the Atari game series. RECONSTITUTION OF ATARI 2600 GAME COLLECTIONS. ==================================== I developed a website with the purpose of supporting the project and the research, so that everyone can follow the updates of the information found. On the website you will find all the explanation about the project, the method used, where to find the cataloged information and you will also be able to identify which games formed the series and their versions. I use as a study base in the research information from any and all catalog numbers available in the game sets, I also use data from Atari documents, Internet pages and sealed or complete games for catalog records. After a year of work, I defined as the initial indexing point for building a database, a number found in the boxes that I call PSN (PART SERIAL NUMBER), are found in the small tabs, usually along with the review. Through them I identify the series it belongs to and the game it contains. I have already identified 495 versions of boxes and validated 185 of them, my intention is to open the community to validate other versions and discover new ones. The idea is also that everyone can participate, sending version inclusions through channels like this forum or others that can be built in the future. Now I would like to know your opinion. https://auctions.godaddy.com/trpItemListing.aspx?miid=261954276 Shutting down the website, and would like to see it go to someone who is serious and can turn it into something good. $1,500 USD is the corporate price... but if you're interested I'm open to offers.

I apologise for this being off topic but a lot of the Atari 8-bit websites I visit will be impacted by this and I expect most of the owners are members here and I wanted to give everyone who might not have seen it a heads up. As of July 2018, Google will continue its mission to make the entire web secure by marking any http website as insecure. This means that if you run a website and it's not using ssl, any visitors to your site will be told that the site is insecure and the url bar will say "Not Secure" before the address. This is just the first step, the next step is to warn people and force certificate creation locally if the site is still insecure. They did this last year to sites that allowed logins or accepted payments and in January switched on the warning/cert page. Safari and Chrome browsers will be affected by this, not Firefox or Edge. Free website certs are available, so are free personal (ie email) certs so if you run a website and you haven't already moved to encrypt it, I'd start thinking about doing it now. Again, sorry for the off topic!

Just for fun, personal therapy, perhaps something more useful in the future... http://www.hickorycreek.ca/cvaddiction.html Hardly any content yet, just one blog post that let's all here know a bit more about what I'm about. I hope to add some content soon. Any feedback from this knowledge base would be greatly appreciated.

Hi all - my ColecoVision and I have been together for 30 years but we're only now rekindling our relationship and I'm just entering the world of homebrew games for the first time. I was THRILLED to see such a thriving and dedicated culture devoted to keeping this console alive - I was immediately on the hunt for new stuff. And one way I wanted to enhance my hobby was to create a web site, not just to show off my modest collection as it gets larger but to record my personal experiences and knowledge of the coolest video game console ever. This web site doesn't exist yet, but I'm throwing a question out to you guys - would anyone be interested in or visit another ColecoVision site? And if so, what kind of content would make it interesting and different? I had a few ideas: - a comprehensive list and descriptions of all games & hardware, old and new (not sure if this really exists anywhere all in one spot) - a "Canadian" ColecoVision collector theme - a catalogue of mods with complete instructions I'm just throwing it out there... if these have been done and overdone or if they're unnecessary there's no point going there. Any ideas/feedback welcome, positive or negative (I'm a big boy I can take it). I'm just a nostalgic sap looking for a way to express myself.....

Just a quick heads-up: The big moving day is finally here. The last few weeks, I've been sorting and purging and packing and sorting and purging and packing. I've been interleaving that with a day job and shipping game orders. Now the big day is finally here. That means I need to take down the network tonight. We should be back up Thursday or Friday, depending on how quickly AT&T gets our Internet connection back up and how quickly I get the Left Turn Only Information Services Department back up and running. (Well, ok, just the web server—an aging AMD Duron system—but still...) Anyway, I've asked dZ to kindly host the ordering page for me, so you should still be able to order Christmas Carol. And, since I'll be off work for the rest of the year starting Saturday, your orders will go out quickly. However, my domains— http://leftturnonly.info/ , http://spacepatrol.info/ , http://spatula-city.org/ , and so on—will be offline for the next few days. We're coming back though once everything's good on the other side. Thanks for your patience!

Basically, 1 More Castle is a new features-based collaborative gaming website focused on retro gaming. Check it out at 1MoreCastle.com! To learn more about what we are all about, consider: Reading the 1 More Castle Manifesto, checking out the roster of weekly contributors, or just follow the Twitter account @1MoreCastle. This is something I am very excited about, and could say a lot more of, but I just wanted to let you know that we want to be your favorite retro gaming website -- and are serious about making that ambition a reality. Starting next week, our talented team will be providing exclusive, high-quality features to the tune of two updates every day, one in the morning and one in the evening. We would love to see you there. A note specifically for AtariAge regulars: I know that I am definitely not an active member of this community and more of a lurker, but I wanted to let you know that Atari systems are definitely within our coverage. One of our team members is actually going to be doing nothing but a weekly Atari 2600 review, and I am already trying to gather guest pieces related to other Atari consoles from knowledgeable retro gamers out there. We hope to be a website that caters to your tastes as well.
