  1. So the Wii U was the first generation of Nintendo games that received patches and updates. It makes me wonder; will most of the games be playable 20 years down the road when the servers are gone and the updates are no longer available? Actually probably 5-10 years from now....or now.....since everyone seems to have written off the Wii U about 5 years ago. What are your thoughts?

  3. Everyone likes a winner, and the Wii U was definitely not one, finishing a distant 3rd to whatever consoles it was battling. With 13 million sold, it is second only to the virtual boy as a leading red-headed step child of Nintendo. Failing to differentiate and properly market to consumers, the console was doomed nearly from the get go. The console is know among games to collect dust, and just generally suck and be made fun of. And yet when you actually play the console, it seems like one of the finest Nintendo has ever made. The first party game library is rich and deep, and there are a reasonable amount of 3rd party offerings, including many AAA titles. The eshop is solid, and many apps were cool and ahead of their time (Nintendo TV comes to mind.) The console is always backwards compatible with the Wii and it's vast library of quality offerings. On paper, and when playing it, I feel like it's a great console. I do feel like the gamepad was somewhat poorly executed, but no console is perfect. So why do people love to hate the Wii U so much? Have they not actually played it, or is it mostly rooted in the fact that it wasn't a commercial success? Your thoughts?
  4. I wouldn't want to go back to the old days, but I do miss the thrill of the hunt.
  5. Dress your Mii up like Mega Man X or Proto Man!
  7. Hello everybody, today I have a simple question: what's your favorite mario party game: 1 through 10? Actually, its more complex than that. It would be cool to hear two answers: what is your favorite game, including biases like your first mario party, a favorite gaming party or experience, etc, as well as which game you believe is all around the best, unbiased. I personally had the most fun with Mario Party 8 because it was my first even though some other entries in the series were way better. I'm exited to hear your answers!
  8. Joan helped me pay off many a loan!
  9. These space boots are made for walking!

  11. It takes longer than you'd think and you have to jump through a few hoops.
  12. I don't think GameStop will run out any time soon.
  13. Article: Here's step by step directions on how to transfer or copy a Mii from your Wii U to the Nintendo Switch. This will allow you to use a pre-made Mii for you Nintendo Switch user icon. What you'll need: Wii U Nintendo Switch amiibo of your choice ON THE WII UTurn on your Wii U, login to the user's profile that has the Mii you want to transfer, and go to System Settings. Go to amiibo Settings, then hit Register Owner and Nickname. Touch the amiibo to the GamePad as directed. Change the Owner if needed then hit save. Touch the amiibo to the GamePad again to register the owner. ON THE NINTENDO SWITCHHop over to your Nintendo Switch and load up the System Settings. Scroll down to User then select Add New user. Once you're given the prompt to choose an icon scroll to the Mii tile and click hit. Choose Create New Mii, then select Copy Mii from amiibo. Grab the amiibo you used before and touch it to the NFC touchpoint on the right Joy-Con. Your amiibo should be successfully copied. After it's transferred from the amiibo you can customize the Mii's pose, expression, and completely edit the original Mii. Original Article: http://www.ign.com/wikis/nintendo-switch/How_to_Copy_a_Mii_from_the_Wii_U_to_Nintendo_Switch This was helpful as I wasn't sure how to do this. Not sure what they are doing with the Mii's in the Switchverse, but I've had mine for 10 years now and needless to say i'm a little attached to it.
  14. Another good day for Amiibos I'd say! It also sounds like the set up for a joke: Dr. Mario, Bowser Jr. and Olimar walk into a bar...

  20. Rodea is barely played, and looking for a good home. $50 shipped CONUS. Note the tiny damage on the side of the casing. http://imgur.com/a/LCBxj Super Smash Bros Melee is being let go to help fund my increasing interest in comic books; $48 shipped CONUS. http://imgur.com/a/HmvHm If you're interested in a GameCube system to go with it (no controllers unfortunately), I can see if I can dig it up and toss it in for a $65 bundle, shipped CONUS.
  21. Is this a sign of things to come, I wonder? EA has announced it currently doesn't have any games in development for the Wii U. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-22565945 Nintendo has also shifted fewer Us than they expected. With 3.4million sold instead of 4million expected. Sales of the 3DS also don't appear to have been anything special and the Vita has been struggling, although it's starting to do a little better. I suspected a while ago that the new generation of consoles would struggle to excite players in the way that the previous two generations have. The fact is that the current generation is ample for most people. If something still works great and has been allowed to evolve into something as all-singing-all-dancing as the 360 has, why would anyone want to shell out another $300-$400 on something that doesn't seem to add anything new or groundbreaking? It does look as though the hardware manufacturers have fallen into the trap of trying to be the first to bring out a new console, just because the other guys are. None have considered whether new hardware was necessary. Nintendo probably did need something new and Sony needed to replace the PSP but I'm not so sure that the 360 and PS3 need to be consigned to history just yet. I certainly have no plans to buy a new console - if I do, I'd be better off just building myself a small gaming PC.
  22. Hey everyone, I've got a new YouTube channel, if you want to check it out and maybe subscribe. My new podcast is on there, as well as video news and reviews, such as this Star Fox Zero preview: Thanks for watching!
  23. Just sayin' ? I see Xbox One, PS4... and some Wii U thread topics, but no pinned Wii U Section. I know it hasn't sold great and blah blah blah but c'mon.
