  1. Hi there, does anyone have the Reference Manual or the Command Key Reference of the Atari Calculator CX8102 © 1979 Atari? I am searching for that for more than 3 decades! Best would be a scanned handbook/documentation, or a list of possible commands for the Atari Calculator Program (from 1979, Article CX8102). This might be the same software as APX 20130, but I am not sure. Can anyone send me information on this? A pdf-file or a jpg-file would be great! :-))) I would even pay for this, but please help me with that. Best wishes from Germany in advance. Many thanks, Luckybuck :-) http://dl.dropbox.com/u/17508311/Calculator.atr http://dl.dropbox.com/u/17508311/analog_1981-03_038.jpg
  2. The latest in our Video History Series The Evolution of Atari ST Vertical Flying Shooters Part 3 1989 A rising tide? In 1989 two significant things happened in the history of Atari ST vertical shooters: First, Xenon 2 was released, which is considered by many to be the best shooter of all time on the ST, and also Shoot ‘em Up Construction Kit or SEUCK was hit the market. The other games we have to look at are relatively unique, at least as far a unique can go in this genre, but overall it was not a great year for ST vertical shooters in terms of quantity, but what was released was a step up visually and technically from the average in 1988. Part 1 - Early Years: https://youtu.be/J4XJ9YS3PbI Xenon 2 Pod Cast https://intotheverticalblank.com/2022/07/04/s5e3-xenon-2-and-the-atari-st-halcyon-days-of-1989-part-1/
  3. Few months ago I posted an 'essential' package for Atari 'C'. It was a .ZIP up of all the versions of Deep Blue C for the Atari 8-bit line. The .Zip included the later upgrades for Deep Blue C such as Ace C all in one package. I have Done the Same for Action!, Atari Asm/Ed & Macro Assm, Atari Pascal, OSS BASIC XL and MS BASIC. You can get all these software packages off the web but they are usually spread all over the place. I put them in one nice little .ZIP for each programming language package. Here's a little of what in the .ZIPs: Action: the 3 tutorials docs reference manuals Action .bin action runtime & source strings package the toolkit the programming aids disk Atari Editor-Assembler and Macro Assembler ed/assm on disk and cart macro assm package APX editor various OS source code learning 6502 books De Re Atari & mapping the manuals Atari Pascal: apx editor pacal setup for proper use of the editor books on pascal tools manuals OSS BASIC XL leaning BXL in 30 days book toolkit runtime cart & rom manuals Microsoft BASIC manual for ver 1 & 2 ROM & supplemental disk for MSC II Ver 1 disk disk for ver 2.7 tools games in MSB hope this helps in your exploration of the various forms of Atari programming. Enjoy. HLO 1612407063_AtariAsm-EdMacroAsm.zip 879291318_MSBASIC.zip 315215624_AtariPascal.zip Action!.zip 1076264715_BASICXL.zip
  4. Long ago Atari offered a 'C' package through APX. It was OK, limited and bit slow. What a lot people may not know that wasn't the end of 'C' for the Atari 8-bit. later Ace C was released which compiled much faster. Still had about the same capabilities but faster compile. But that wasn't the end of it, then CC8 was released. This 'C' more capabilities and faster compile. A really nice package. I have here combined the three packages and the documents in one .zip. Included are libraries, editor and everything you need to get programming. Enjoy. 272648083_A8Cpackage.zip
  5. This Is SOLD. I am selling my Atari computers lucite paper weight. It is in overall good shape but please note there is very minor small chip out of the lower left base corner looking at it from the front where the rainbow Atari logo can be seen. And also an even smaller one on the lower right front side. They are hardly noticeable. You’ll also note some air bubbles inside the lucite and a small tiny fracture - Not a chip out - on the right front side about halfway up. That can be noted in the main front face photo. Please see all the photos. It measures 3-7/16 inches long across the front, about 2-3/4 inches long on the other two sides and 2-5/8 tall / high. It has four round brown felt pads on the base. Background information on these I pulled from the web: “Atari Computer Synertek ROM Chip Paperweight (1981). Lucite paperweight from Atari featuring a C012409 24-pin DIP ROM chip manufactured by Synertek Corp. at their Santa Cruz California manufacturing plant. This ROM chip would have been used to store game & educational programs in cartridge form for use in Atari's 400 & 800 line of 8-bit Home Computers. Reads Atari - We've brought the Computer Age Home.” $125.00 shipped to USA addresses via USPS Priority Mail.
  6. I am a very loyal Atari 8-bit fan with cubic meters of hardware, kits, boxes and software. However, out of curiosity, I also have a TI99/4A, Apple IIe (& platinum), CBS ColecoVision (& all the add-ons), very old MS-DOS laptops, and ... since very recently, I got cheaply 2x C64, 1x C128, a 1541 drive. I bought a Kung Fu Flash cartridge (very handy) I know the Atari 8-bit games very well, I've been playing with my 800XL since I was 13, in 1984. And I still play today thanks to my FujiNet to Boulder Dash, Montezuma's revenge, The Goonies, Burger Time, Mr TNT, Drop zone, Bruce Lee, Galaxian, The Great American Cross-Country Road Race, etc, etc. But the C64 is brand new to me. I don't know where to start the exploration. I'm just looking for some advice: if you are familiar with Atari 8-bit and C64 games, which C64 games do I really need to play? Good C64 games that don't exist on the Atari 8-bit... Good C64 games that are really better made than their Atari 8-bit counterpart... (the opposite also exists, I know some)... Do you have any suggestions for me? After this escapade, I promise, the Commodore hardware will be back in the basement.
  7. I have just bought an UnoCart but can't find the OS to load ATR files anywhere online. Can anyone help me please? Thanks

  9. I acquired this back in August but realistically don't have room for it and am looking to sell. A bit difficult to get a true valuation since there aren't too many of these around and little is known about the system, other than that it was sold in at least two countries, Mexico and Chile. I currently have it listed on eBay for $499 but I'll certainly consider all reasonable offers and will offer free, fully-insured USPS Priority Mail or FedEx shipping in a well-packed box. Sure, lots of us know that the regular XE Game System (XEGS) is a repackaged 65XE, but this here is an ACTUAL 65XE branded as an XE Video Game System. And to take it a step further, it is the extremely hard to find NTSC final production run model, where Atari made the 65XE on a 130XE motherboard and case. Yep, that's right, it has the Expansion (ECI) Port present and the board internally is identical to the 130XE, minus the 130XE's added RAM, of course. Cosmetically, the system and accessories are in good shape. Even the plastic protective film over the system nameplate is still present. As far as I know, this bundle includes everything that originally came with the system, including all paperwork, manuals, accessories and packaging. Note that some of the manuals are only in Spanish. Please see the eBay link above for pictures of everything. I have additional pictures beyond the 12 that eBay limits me to that I would be happy to provide - just shoot me a note. This system and has been lightly cleaned, fully tested and works, and passed all of the "self tests" that Atari built-in to the system software. That said, it has the following flaws: Color output seems a bit "off." For example, when playing Donkey Kong, the ladders are a pinkish color instead of blue. Similarly, when loading into basic, instead of a blue screen with "ready," a pink screen with "ready" appears. I have tested this via both RF and monitor (composite) outputs (monitor/composite cable not included; only RF, RF adapter and the very old school switchbox (no need to ever use this but included for completeness)) and got the same results. Would be happy to provide pictures demonstrating the color output; just send me a message. Research has indicated that a slight adjustment of the "color adjust pot" under the hood will likely fix this easily. I didn't discover the fix until after I packaged it all up and I'm also not too familiar with doing that adjustment, so I will leave that up to the buyer. Joystick, while good cosmetically, needs some work. Occasionally it will respond as it should, other times the directions don't respond immediately and sometimes it thinks fire is pressed without it actually being pressed. Light gun, while great cosmetically (both stickers are intact) and the trigger does respond, it does not seem to communicate properly with the TV and system to indicate "hits." System outer box is worn, as evidenced by the pictures, but it still holds its shape well. All three games have also been cleaned and tested and work great. Star Raiders II has both English and Spanish manuals included; Bug Hunt and Flight Simulator II are Spanish-only. Please let me know if you have any questions about this extremely rare piece of Atari gaming history!
  10. Looking for a replacement top and bottom shell for my 1979 style Atari 800. If anyone has one, or a parts unit I could pull the shell off of, let me know. I'm open to negotiating on price. Thanks!
  11. Atari 1050 Complete in Box - $120 OBO with free USPS Priority Mail Shipping (don't underestimate the value of free shipping on such a heavy item!) This was sold to me as "Brand New in Box" but who knows. There is some clear water damage to the outer box itself. I personally "broke the seal" on the tape holding the two inner Styrofoam pieces together. The manuals are still sealed in their bags and the disk drive itself is bagged. The power supply is in its original box. The drive itself looks great and still has the seal across the metal nameplate. I tested the drive on my XE Game System and could not get it to work fully. I'm able to get some games to load to their title screens but no further. I'm assuming it can be fixed but I honestly just don't have the time to open it up and fiddle around.
  12. You know you've been toying with getting an Atari XE Game System (XEGS)! This is a great starter set, as it includes the following items, all of which have been put through the necessary paces and are fully working: - Console + keyboard (the latter has slight yellowing on the keys) - Light gun (reminder: only works on CRTs) - Atari sticker is missing on one side - One (1) Wico Command Control joystick - top fire button located on top of the stick itself is not working but the fire button in the more traditional location works just fine and is all you need - XEGS Owner's Manual and Keyboard Manual - Flight Simulator II, Centipede and Star Raiders game cartridges (along with the built-in Missile Command, is course!) - Official OEM power supply - Composite AV Cable Asking $150 with FREE USPS Priority Mail shipping to US buyers. Shipping to Canada would be extra. Live in and around the Philly area? We can certainly arrange a local pickup. Please see the provided pics for more details. I also have some of the harder to find "blue label" Atari XEGS games available, and purchasing a few along with this system would really start your collection off on the right foot: Karateka, Donkey Kong, Into the Eagles Nest and Choplifter. Also want an Atari 1050 disk drive to further expand your options? I've got one of those I can include for a competitive price, too. The possibilities are endless! Any q's and/or to finalize a deal, please shoot me a PM. Thanks!
  13. Reposted here from the 8bit forum. When the Multijoy game Sails of Doom was released late last year I decided I should make a Multijoy8 and use it as a learning opportunity for KiCad and PCB layout. It was harder than I thought! Here is version 1 It looks good but it doesn't work. I had got the wrong footprint for one of the Joystick Port connectors and the pin assignments were wrong. I manually fixed that and it now worked on my 800XL but didn't work on my 1088XEL, that turned out to be a similar problem to the SDrive MAX diode problem; I switched out one of the 1N4148 diodes for a 1N5819 Schottky diode and it worked properly now. Here is the hacked up board. Great! so I went off and ordered a batch of corrected boards and made one to test, here it is. It worked great so I made a few for people on Twitter That's when I noticed the error on the Silkscreen . The joystick ports that connect to the Atari are labelled 1 & 2, they should be labelled 2 & 1. This is the fix I came up with. So there we are, I now have a couple of Multijoy 8's for multiplayer gaming and a few leftover boards as spares. I'm happy to let other people have these if they would like one. It's a simple board with easy soldering and forgiving components but there is a fair amount of soldering required so it's great as a learning option if you are new to soldering and would like to get some practice before you attack a piece of history! I have some spare components left over as well, so I'm happy to supply kits or if you are not into DIY I can make one for you. In the unlikely event that I get more interest than I have parts, I'm willing to produce another run. PM me if you are interested. The parts required are (Including Digikey part numbers):- 4x 10K ¼w Resistor (CF14JT10K0CT-ND) 1x 0.1uf Ceramic Capacitor (1109PHCT-ND) 40x 1N5819 Schottky Diode (497-7053-1-ND) 1x SN74LS138N IC (296-1639-5-ND) 8x Male 9way DSub (AE10972-ND) 2x Female 9way DSub (AE11063-ND) If you don't have a 1088XEL you can use 1N4148 diodes which are much cheaper
  14. Hi, I've got a few items listed up on ebay in the UK - link sTeVE
  15. A MIDIMate interface for the Atari 8bit computers. Plugs into the SIO port. Works with MIDI Music System 1.0 and MIDI track III. Includes two 1/4 " to RCA adapers for the Sync In and Out ports. Includes original disk and manual for MIDI Music System software. It also can convert AMS music to MIDI format that is uses. (.MUS file extension.) Includes a CD of the entire archive of the 3000 public domain MIDI files that can be played with this interface from the Action Annex BBS. I was co-sysop for a few years back in the day. This was the very same interface Donna used to make audio tapes and test her composition. How's that for maximum compatibility? Since all the MIDI Max interfaces are sold out at Best Electronics, this may very well be one of the last few times you will ever find a vintage equivalent interface like this. Until someone remakes the interface for the 1088xl or finishes the reverse engineering of an equivalent. SOLD!
  16. Pitfall for Intellivision. Super clean. Unable to test since I don't have an Intellivision. Since no one wants to buy this thing, how about trading it for Atari 8-bit software?!? Thank you
  17. Megaoids - Blasteroids type game now available on cartridge for $39.95 just in time for CyberMonday. The game was influenced by the arcade Blasteroids game. Instead of lives, you have shield energy that go down everytime you collide with an asteroids or exotic matter. The shield energy gets recharge when making contact with those glowing spinning orbs that pop up after destroying the asteroids. This also has fast moving laserbolts, can shoot multiple bolts at once. The game is full of sound effects, power ups, and exotic matter that redirect, grow, or clone the asteroids. I made a game many years ago in Turbobasic XL, many years ago around 1990. I decided to rewrite it totally in assembly language. I took the original font from its Turbobasic counterpart and updated it for this machine language version. As many of us know a 100% machine language port can run and play much smoother. There are more things can be done at the assembly language level that is hard to do in Complied Turbobasic. The Turbobasic version ran into limitations and I always wanted to do better. The orbs are now animated and move, no longer have slow downs, have stars in the background, and many more things move at the same time. The game is available here. http://members.tcq.net/video61/main.html We have also release Laser Blast X on the same day. Megaoids was originally intended to be release in early October but was delayed due to personal issues with a member of our team.

  21. Hello, I just received an Atari 8Bit Lot, including a Atari 800XL. Testing the machine, all seems are working fine, but when i load some games, like International Karate (take a look to the video), the game background is flickering. With games like Pole Position, Moon Patrol or Berzerk, the main character not appears on the screen or blinking on the screen. The Memory Self Test pass ok, but down on the screen where say : "Reset or Help to Exit", this letter are flickering. I tested with other PSU, and the same problem. I am using a Composite Video cable on CRT TV. So, someone know what are happening?. If you know, please let me know. Comments, suggests are welcome. Thanks! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xwPWEYKJS7w
  22. Hello, I was wondering: Why did less commercial titles A8?. You know, games like California Games, Test Drive, and other was never released for Atari 8bit. I think the machine has enough power for run games like that. What you think about? Regards
