Hi, I was learning Atari 8-bit assembly from Atari Roots and I wrote this joystick test program just to see how I'd do at assembly programming. It's nothing much, it changes the color of the border when you move the joystick and it changes the color of the playfield when you press the fire button. Feel free to look at the source code and tell me what you think. JOYTEST.xex JOYTEST.ASM

I am going to sell off most of my Atari 8-bit hardware and software. Rather than use one of those auction sites (that shall remain nameless), I am going to set it up on a website... here... https://cabellclarke.wixsite.com/website So far, there are only a few pictures on the site but I will be adding individual items in the coming days... If you see something you are interested in, drop me a line. I don't intend to ship internationally so sorry to half the people on AA but I am in the US and shipping is a b|+ch these days and some of this stuff is huge (liked a boxed 1200XL or an Astra Big D.) And so it begins...

Hey-o. First time posting here I guess, but ever since the latest Twine update, I've been wondering about converting games made with Twine into games for 8-bit platforms such as Atari 8-bit family (or as I like to call them the Atari 8-bit Famsquad, which is totally not forced and not made out of spite for the next generation's slang terms). Anyway, what is Twine? Well, it's a tool for making interactive fiction and text adventures and stuff like that. Most recently, they added a button to the app that exports the story into a code file format called "Twee". More info here, if you're willing to dig. Since the export to Twee button became a thing, I was wondering if we could make a converter that converts Twee code into a form of BASIC or whatever. What do you think? I have little programming experience, but I figured I'd open a topic on this.

Hello guys! I know I've also asked this on the lynx page too, but I'm also going to ask it here (because antic D...?) too. Anyway, with ANTIC D looking like this: ; This is DMA. and it being 2bpp at 160*96 (Yes, I know about ANTIC E, but that takes twice as long to do a draw as D does.), I thought "hey, how about this too?" I understand that the Atari 8bit has to deal with DMA and that the CPU is already slower than the lynx (it's still fast for 1979 though.), but hey, why not? I'm mostly asking because as I was programming Conner&Anthony for Atari 8bit, I thought about a sequel to it, a Conner&Anthony 2 if you will, which would be for 130xe only. (Heck, I'm thinking about making C&A for 65xe/800xl+ as it is instead of 800+ so I can include 16Khz samples in the $C000-$FFFF region AND use NMI for my code.) So, have any of you tried this? Just asking. 😃 (A Conner&Anthony for Atari 130xe would be freaking awesome!!! Would give us a game FOR that platform, and if I'm not wrong, you CAN have the CPU only in that region for SUPER FAST processing!) Thanks guys, and merry christmas!

Made by Zaxon, this is the 512KB RAM expansion for the 800XL. It may work with an unexpanded 600XL but I do not have one to test, so I'm not sure of that. It gets power from the joystick port via the included cable. Zaxon's own description: "512 ram expansion( externial) for 800 XL. Based on Jürgen van Radecke Sys Check project in memory expansion and with his consent. Only RAM. Direct plug in to expansion slot. 3D printed ABS Ivory case. Joystick cable for connect power to interface. Rambo type. Plug and play" Works perfectly - selling to slim down the collection (I have the XE version of this expansion!). I'm in the UK. Asking £30 - buyer to pay relevant shipping fees.

Back in 1981 (maybe 1982), Sep to Dec, I came across an article that had a program to demonstrate the 4 voice sound on the Atari 800. No graphics, just a program to play 'O Christmas Tree' (I think). I have searched every magazine online I can find for the listing but no luck. Its a real long long shot but does anyone remember a code listing something like this and where it might have been?

This is a super nice condition Atari 8bit cartridge holder book thingy. I've seen a few of these but this one is in the best condition I've ever seen with no cracks and no major dimples in the plastic. It has room for your 6 most prized Atari 8bit cartridges along with a slot to hold the half-page sized instructions/manuals for the carts. I inserted a BASIC cart in one of the 6 cart slots just to show the size of the slots (BASIC cart is not included). Please see the pictures for condition. Please PM me with offers. I have a price in mind. If I don't get any offers in a week or so I will update this with a price. Thanks for looking!!! Cartridge not included.

Please read and examine the pictures. Because I already have a copy of these manuals and because these are only in 'fair' condition I am asking only $10 plus the actual USPS Media Mail shipping cost (estimated to be $14) so $24 and it's yours. I detect no mold, mildew or water/moisture damage and no smoke. The only issue is many of the pages have been torn/ripped at the punch holes. I have a well used complete: 'De Rie Atari' set which really includes 4 separate manuals: De Rie Atari (one of the earliest and still one of the best guides to the 400/800), Operating System User's Manual (super in-depth information), Operating System Source Listing (the actual source code listing of the original 400/800 OS) and Hardware Manual (which includes 400 and 800 hardware schematics). and also a Atari 400/800 BASIC Reference Manual. I confirmed that all the pages are present and in the correct order (comparing it to another copy I have). However, many of the pages have been torn/ripped at the punch holes. As many as 10% or more of the pages. With some TLC, tape and ring protectors (if they still make them) you could fix them up. OR use them as-is. This material has likely been scanned by now however, if you are like me you like having the hard copy to work with. It will ship with the 3X 3-ring binders that I found them in.

Hi - Let me know if you see any carts that you need. I can provide additional pictures. For many I have the manual to go along with the cart. Prices vary depending on title and condition, etc. PM me with any interest and I will post more pics. Some carts as low as $7 + you pay shipping. Everything is negotiable... Let me know what you have to trade... carts or other 8bit items. Thanks for looking!

Hello! Here is our game called Ufo Hunt made for GRAwitacja Game Jam 2018. It was done on 14-15 of April (just the past weekend) using Turbo BASIC XL, CMC and G2F. The rules are simple. Move your crosshair and try to shoot flying saucer as many times as you can. Beware of moving force-field barrier as weel as radioative waste spreaded by saucer. Short credits: Code: Sikor Music: Miker Title: Irata4 Thanks to mgr_inz_rafal for great help with PM collisions. Enjoy! ufohunt.zip
