  1. Hi all, I´ve sent the ABBUC magazine 140 to the members, and the first copies already appeared, but only in Germany. International delivery might take longer, so please stay tuned. But to not make you wait too long, you can download the atr-images of the disk and the german PDF of the printed issue at the members section of the ABBUC website. I´m preparing an english PDF too, but for the time being you could at least use copy&paste to have the german pdf translated with an online service. If you are a member and can´t access the member section with the downloads, please send a message with your name to me. Access has to be be given manually one time, but for future log ins no further action is needed. Stay healthy!

  3. Hi. I'm trying to extract music from one demo file (X-Files, The (1988-02-01)(SHP)(pl)[stereo]), all I get after extracting is 14 corrupted 1Kb files. I tried to use ATADIM, makeATR, Altirra, etc- no luck... Are there any chances to extract the sound files? Thanks in advance for any help P.S. The demo file itself- http://nitroroms.com/show/file-info/L45161/Atari_8Bit/X-Files,%20The%20(1988-02-01)(SHP)(Pl)[stereo].atr.html
  4. I have encountered a dilemma that I hope someone knows of a solution for. Roughly 10-12 years ago I created a few disks full of files on my 800xl/1050. I then diskcomm'd them and uploaded them via modem to my pc. At the time I was using Atari800Win/Plus on the PC. I used that to convert the dcm files to atr files. Several years ago I switched to Altirra after finding some glitches with Atari800WinPlus in Windows7, and seeing that Atari800WinPlus was not being updated/maintained anymore. Just now I went to use one of those atr disk images in Altirra for the first time. Obviously there must be some differences in "atr format", because Altirra will not accept any of the atr's I created in Atari800WinPlus. I am however able to open and use them in Atari800WinPlus, so it's not the case that the files have become corrupted, but that Altirra just doesn't recognize Atari800WinPlus's version of atr. I have also tried using the PC utility MakeATR, but that utility also will not open the atr's, saying they are corrupt. Any ideas? Any way I can either convert the atr's to a version that Altirra likes, or extract the files from these atr's and then import them into a new blank atr disk using MakeATR?
  5. ... a PC based Turbo Basic editor which can write directly to a file within a .atr file?
  6. Greetings, I have been trying to copy some disk images in ATR format via the APE and Prosystem PC applications, via SIO2PC (USB) and Atari 1050 drive. I know the drive and interface work because I've successfully loaded programs from both into my 800XL. The problem is, when I try to transfer the disk image to real floppy, the copy fails - I believe this is because all of the ATR images I'm finding online are double density (180kb), and my stock 1050 disk drive is only designed to read/write single density. Does this sound correct? And if so, is there any convenient way around this, aside from upgrading my 1050 to read/write double density? I'd be content to just load files from the emulated drives available via APE and the SIO2PC interface, but the interface is on loan from a friend so I'd like to get some disks made before returning it. Thanks in advance for any advice!
