  1. Hi All, Some of you may know me from the Atari 8-bit forum - I've designed a couple of open-source multi-carts for the Atari 8-bit (the UnoCart and UltimateCart). The Atari 8-bit was my childhood home computer, but I picked up a 2600 jr on ebay at xmas, since I fondly remembered playing Combat on a friend's Atari VCS after school. However I thought it would be nice to play some other games and try some of the more recent homebrew creations, and so... Over the last couple of weeks, I've been busy building a version of the UnoCart for the Atari 2600 - The UnoCart-2600. The video below shows it in action (code from a week or so ago - I've renamed it since then!) Like the UnoCart, this is something you can build yourself with minimal soldering. It just requires an off-the-shelf STM32F4-DISCOVERY board, an SD-card breakout board, and a breakout board for the Atari 2600 cartridge slot. Everything can be hooked up with jumper wires. The source code, firmware, breakout-PCB design and (very rough) building instructions are on a new github page for the project: https://github.com/robinhedwards/UnoCart-2600 The cartridge successfully auto-detects and emulates pretty much all the ROM dumps available on AtariMania (with the exception of Pitfall II, since I'm not emulating the DSP stuff). So far, this has just been tested on my Atari 2600 jr - would anybody else be interested in building one and helping me find any remaining bugs in the cartridge emulation? I've got a few cartridge breakout PCBs spare, since that is the only part that is hard to obtain. PM me if interested? Robin
  2. This is more of a feeler listing as I would like to find out if it's possible to get a G5 1.6GHZ compatible AGP video card with at least 128MB VRAM(256 preferred, but dependent on cost) for a more reasonable amount of money than the +$100 listings i've seen on eBay. All things being equal, I would rather not dump a log of money into a machine that has somewhat of a checkered history as far as it's reliability is concerned. I don't have any hardware that I could use to flash an AGP video card myself, so I can't just buy a PC ROM card and flash it. As long as it works with my system and preferably has a VGA port in addition to DVI, I wouldn't mind a flashed GPU if it meant it was a bit cheaper. I was hoping to stay under $30 shipped if at all possible. Thanks for reading.
  3. The cards fit the Kurz-Kasch TF-650 test fixture, which allows for the diagnosis and repair of arcade game PCB’s outside the game. They will look similar to the cards in the picture. If you happen to have any, run across any or know someone who may have a few please let me know! Thanks!
  4. Hello, all. I've purchased a Diamond Trackstar 128 but the utility disk wasn't included. Sadly this disk is needed in order to actually use the hardware. A Teledisk disk image is available from the asimov FTP, but it doesn't work... because the original disk is copy-protected. Software for the later Trackstar models is also available for download -- and by this time the company learned that copy-protecting the disks made no sense -- but these don't work with the 128. If someone has an extra working utility disk available for the Trackstar 128 I'd like to arrange to either buy it, or borrow it for proper disk imaging using special hardware. Thanks. Please contact me here or by e-mail (e-mail preferred) if you can help... [email protected]
  5. Hello Sadly I noticed that the Magnavox Odyssey games have risen in price. Personally I want to preserve light gun gaming as much as possible. Therefore I started to do a multi card which can be used as cards 9 & 10. Then I realized that this was a waste of silicon an time and that I should better make a 12 in 1 mutli card. Myself I just own 3, 9 & 10 so I was very into the idea once I had it. Here is a picture of the final card: I put all the PCB files onto my website, so everybody can print one for personal usage. I uploaded the files as GERBER and as .brd files (I prefer the latter...). I wish you all happy gaming! Here is a short video of proof, which shows that the little thing actually works: www.youtube.com/watch?v=OFJGMqS9hTI&t=4m27s
  6. So my question is does the Memory Card Plus by Interact also make the saturn region free? I know the fatter one that supposedly harms the cart slot does but this is the thinner easy fit version. (I have no idea how to describe the difference, lol)
  7. Just purchased an empty PEB and want to find a disk drive and disk drive controller card for it. Also looking for a 32K Memory card.
  8. Hello. Does anyone know what the best way to read .dsk images via SD card is for an MSX2? The one I have has only 64K of RAM and doesn't have a disk drive. However, it does have the standard two cartridge slots. It's a Sony HB-T7
