  1. Modded my Atari paddle to a new design with an aluminum volume knob and some adhesive woodgrain drawer liner. Here's how I did it:
  2. Okay, ive finally scored a sega master controller on ebay. Im getting ready to attempt my first controller mod. Ive seen a few people link this http://www.instructables.com/id/Retro-Atari-7800-Mod-Sega-Master-System-controlle/ and it looks fairly straight forward. Before I begin, any advice on this?
  3. From the album: Colecovision Mods

The aluminum disks that Colecovision controllers have wear very easily. I decided to go a different route and put a 1" chrome hole plug in its place. These only cost less than $2 at Lowes and look really nice if you want to keep a classic style look without the worry of it fading.

  5. So ive recently picked up at Atari 400 computer, all stock. I will max out the ram, add composite video in the future, but for now I want to do something with the joystick. Ive seen modded nes controllers (using stock atari joystick cords) that worked on nintendos. So I assume that I can do the same mod, or a similar one, so that i can use a nintendo controller to play games with. Does anyone know if this would work, or have seen it done? I know some people love the old joysticks, but to me they were always a pain.
  6. From the album: Colecovision Mods

This was an addition I added to the controller mod to give it a more authentic colecovision feel since the spring has to be removed for the microswitches to work properly. I have since added a single rubber washer where the spring used to be to eliminate the plastic on plastic sound. Rubber Washer 7/16 x 1 x 1/16 Part:880372 - 2 for ($0.92) from Lowe's This will go in the place where the spring used to be. Both of these changes help center the controller like the spring used to.
