  3. 😎I've never finished it but I played the original SHADOWMAN first on the N64 followed by the DREAMCAST then years later the PC version (from STEAM or GOG I cannot recall) of course, each version had some minor improved visuals but here I am again this time playing the recently released REMASTERED version on PC. It runs great and though still incredibly dated it's the best it's ever looked. I like the atmosphere and it's somewhat a guilty pleasure game. Here's a couple grabs I took just now. ANY FANS? 😎

  9. Hi! I'm looking for some advice on replacement Dreamcast CD cases. I have seen quite a few on Amazon that look suitable, such as - - http://www.amazon.com/Memorex-Jewel-Cases-Clear-Tray/dp/B000067VC6/ref=pd_cp_e_2 And here's some "chubby" double CD ones, which I also need http://www.amazon.com/DOUBLE-THICK-CHUBBY-JEWEL-CD2R24DG/dp/B001JPDK1G/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1333377341&sr=1-1 As those of you who collect Dreamcast know, the original cases have a certain "thickness" and "shine" to them that is hard to imitate. The double CD cases are tricky to find, too. What have fellow collectors used or who have you bought from? SQUARE DEAL there on Amazon looks ok, but . . . . The other alternative I have heard is to purchase a lot of some sports title, discard the contents, and use the cases, which I am also considering! Thanks for any advice! -a2a
  10. About Hello everyone, I am here to share with you a project I've been following for some time. It is Elysian Shadows, a JRPG in the style of classics such as Chrono Trigger, Final Fantasy, and Dragon Quest with some interesting new twists to keep it fresh. It started off in development as a Dreamcast only title, but has branched out to other platforms. The Dreamcast version will have unique features that other platforms will not, such as games with the VMU among others. A kickstarter will be started this summer to help finish the development of this game. Screenshots One of the first towns in the game, Loren. A test of the new advanced lighting system. A work in progress dungeon map and tileset. A powerful custom made toolkit to match a powerful engine. Will be made available for modding and creating your own games using LibGyro, the backbone of Elysian Shadows. Follow! Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/elysianshadows Youtube: http://www.youtube.com/user/GyroVorbis Website: http://elysianshadows.com Twitter: https://twitter.com/elysian_shadows Thank you for your time and support! We hope that you will follow the project

  12. It appears that earlier/mid this month a Sega Dreamcast game was found in a completed state on a rare to find these days development kit from a dead studio. On there was a game that had hit the PC back in 1999, and it was called Millennium Racer Y2K Fighters. Despite the title, it's a racing game much like say Wipeout/FZero/ExtremeG in style but uniquely has a bit of a Rez/Tron thing going for it as you ride around on a neon wireframe looking speeder bike with the racer (person, not wire frame) riding on top. It has like 10 courses to start, more can unlock, and they're not exactly small nor are they lacking for multiple paths/levels to each course either so there's variety. The owner of the kit who found it being a real saint of a game lover decided to give it away for free and from that a working in an emulator (demul I know works) or as an actual ready to burn/self play disc for the Dreamcast hardware. The Dreamcast Junkyard covered it with lots of nice pictures: http://www.thedreamcastjunkyard.co.uk/2017/03/previously-unknown-dreamcast-game.html There's also a youtube on it:
  13. Trying to put this memory to rest: Anyone know if a red Dreamcast was made for Code Veronica in the US? I do a google every so often over the years and don't find a thing so I guess my memory fails me but I could have sworn I saw it back in the late 90's or early 2000's. If I do find something I keep thinking it's a fake. Was the black (sega sports) and white the only ones made?

  15. Is the Sega Dreamcast old enough to be considered retro gaming? I'm curious to see what you think.
  16. Tomorrow will be the Sega Dreamcast's 20th Anniversary. I'm kinda new to AA, & the only Sega forum I found was Genesis, so I hope it's in the right place. Happy Birthday Dreamcast.
  17. I need the original NTSC manuals and the artwork for the back of the case. Thank you, Roger
  18. Hello all, I really hope this is ok to post here. So I have a weekly retro review show where I cover multiple systems, my thought was to have a show thats easy watching, light hearted with lots of daft bits and jokes, I also wanted to set the scene by talking a little about the music, films and news of the time, just to get you in the mood somewhat. I have purposely made the show waffle free and as edit free as possible to make sure its substainable, so far I am pretty happy with the result. Anybody though who has ever attempted this knows how flippin hard it is at the start, YouTube only seems to push popular channels, so getting people to even get a chance to watch a show is just so blooming hard. The result is you often get 50 views when you release a show, its to be expected at the start but you tend to hit the odd bump where it starts to bother you as you spend more time making it than people spend actually watching So it feels like you need the odd kickstart and the only way to do that is to sell your soul and pimp it for all its worth , as I am sure a song once said "pimpn aint easy". So I would like to post my latest show here and would love your thoughts, comments and all that sort of stuff, I add little improvments all the time but any suggestions would also be great. Today I released a review of Makai Prince Dorabocchan also know as Kid Dracula for the PC Engine, I love the PC Engine so added a short sexy music section to get you in the mood for what turns out to be a pretty average platformer. I could also update this thread with my latest shows as I released them if thats considered acceptable?? Thanks Simon
  19. Anyone have a clean, functional Sega jump pack they'd be willing to sell? Thank you.
  20. Did a really quick little project last night. I'd been kicking this around in my head but decided to try it finally last night. The M.O.D.E. or Multi-Optical-Disc-Emulator from TerraOnion has a nifty set of additional pins along one side of it for adding in additional features. Among them are the ability to add in a wire for adding a physical reset button or button to simulate a Disc Swap process etc. One of the extra pins is for wiring in an additional LED in the system somewhere that is directly tied to the small SMD access LED on the M.O.D.E.'s PCB itself. Because this LED isn't usually visible with all inside the case of the console it makes sense that they would provide such a pin. I'm sure it was intended for an additional LED but I decided to instead change the actual power on LED on my Dreamcast to act as the access LED. This way, it still serves as a power on indicator when you see it blinking with 'disc' access activity taking place. The way I did this wasn't difficult at all. I simply removed the power LED from the controller board. Reformed the + lead on the LED to be 90 degrees pointing toward the back of the DC when reinstalled. From that reformed lead, I soldered on about a foot of wire to it. That wire in turn would connect to the LED pin on the M.O.D.E.. I then soldered the power LED back in place on the controller board only soldering in the - or ground lead in place. This way, when the system is powered on and in use, the + voltage to feed the LED and light it up will come from the M.O.D.E. during disc access activity indications. Again this isn't difficult at all and I did add shrink tubing off my + lead and soldered wire to ensure no shorts would occur around the controller board. But here is an edited video example I took off my phone showing how it looks.
