I got a broken game boy color off my friend. It works but there is no sound coming from the speaker. I try the headphone jack and the sound works coming from that and even the volume control works too. Is there any way to fix it? Would I need to replace the speaker and if so where could I buy a replacement. Would a capacitor have blown like the Sega Game Gear Issues? Thanks for your help!

A few years ago, I got a Nintendo 64 with a bunch of games and the transfer pak. The accessory was part of the Pokemon Stadium bundle and I recently discovered that you could use the transfer pak to transfer your monsters to the N64 game, but also to play Pokemon Yellow, Red and Blue. I was wondering if that's a good way to experience those games on the big screen, since tracking down copies of Pokemon Stadium and any of the Game Boy games is going to be an expensive proposition for me. I know the N64 resolution is quite low and I don't know how its controller handles a traditional Pokemon, so does any of you have any experience with this? Is it worth adding those games to my collection so that I can play Pokemon on a big CRT? Or do you think that's just a waste of money? Any resources that you can throw my way will be greatly appreciated since the only thing I've found was a video on "My Life as Gaming". Thanks in advance!

Hi guys, my name is Grazi and I'm from Brazil. Here in Brazil it's really difficult for collectors to find original game boxes, and when we find one it's not always in good conditions. So people love to buy repro boxes for their games, and the closer of the original, the better! The thing is, i'm moving to US and I would like to continue this work, but I'm still getting into your culture, so I would like to know if you guys like this kind of work, if you use to buy it, etc.. how do you like it? I already made game boxes for: Sega Genesis, SNES, NES, ATARI, N64, MASTER SYSTEM, GBA, GBC. And now I have this project of start making consoles/handhelds boxes also. You can see in the image below that I'm working on a GBC Yellow box, 100% vectorized (except the screenshots), and now I'm treating the background image in Photoshop. So I think the result will be really nice!!! I used to make repro boxes a long time ago, like this: (this material is different from what I'm using now) And this is an exemple of the new material I found: Now, few years later, I have studied Graphic Designer and I'm able to make a better job, because now I can improve the image so much more too. Just remembering, the images are not downloaded from websites and printed, they receive a long Photoshop treatment, and many icons and texts are all new (vector). So I would really appreciate if you guys could give some feedback of what you would like to see in terms of REPRO BOXES, like, 100% loyal to the original, custom version, etc. Just tell me

A few months ago I decided to buy and try and fix old video game consoles. In retrospect... This was a pretty big mistake. I bought a lot, ended up with more than I could possibly do, managed to get many running but others were unfixable (IE all those random consoles and game stuff I gave away on the free thread) That isn't the point though! Point is to show off some of the work I've done and how terrible I feel at painting (although they don't look THAT bad). I am also open to tips and suggestions for future work as well as giving out any tips from what I've learned in my experience. Here's a few of the main images to show. My first attempt to paint a SNES! Went really well minus the Eject Button. (Bit of a story there) My second attempt at a SNES paint job! It went better than the first and dubbed... IRON MAN SNES! 8U Then I painted a few Game Boy and Game Boy Advance shells. (Only have pictures for these two at the moment.) My personal Game Boy Color with a fancy glass screen and everything! A Game Boy Advance Shell that's part of a "work in progress". A Sega Genesis controller I painted on a whim. Too bad the controller doesn't work well... And today's latest creation!... A Kingdom Heart's themed NES. (Don't ask why Kingdom Hearts got involved, it just did.) Also features a fancy Purple LED power light! Here's the gallery with the rest of the images associated with this project ------> Project Dreamfall (Don't ask why I call it that... I don't know.) Biggest tip I offer now? Be patient with paint. Just because it feels and looks dry doesn't mean you won't leave several fingerprints in it as you attempt to move it. -_-
