  5. Hi guys: I started this around the beginning of October along with Trebor, PAC-MAN-RED, and Defender_2600. Wanted to get it done for Halloween, but it's not anywhere near done yet. I don't have a name for this yet, but it's a Zombie Apocalypse game, where you have to survive the night while being overrun by zombies. Here are some screenshots of the game for the time being: Coming soon! Bob
  6. It's Halloween... so I figured it was time to upload a few videos for this super-scary holiday. Here's the first one... Halloween Graphics with Flying Witch Demo By David Ibach and Steve Walters ARCADIAN 3, no. 12 (Oct. 05, 1981): 126-127. (BASIC Listing) ARCADIAN 4, no. 1 (Nov. 10, 1981): 3. (Loading Method Explanation) General Video Assembler Package (Flying Witch Sample) You can watch this video on YouTube, here: You can watch or download this video from Archive.org, here: https://archive.org/details/HalloweenGraphicsFlyingWitchDemoDaveIbachSteveWaltersBallyAstrocade Unlike most of my other videos, this program, to get it out in a timely fashion, doesn't have any background or an overview. It doesn't even have opening and closing credits. Maybe I'll make an overview of this program later. This program is for the Bally Arcade/Astrocade, a video game/computer system released by Bally in 1978. Halloween Graphics, written in Bally BASIC, and Flying Witch Demo, written in machine language, are two separate programs running together. Halloween Graphics is called "BOO" in the Arcadian. It runs with "AstroBASIC" and no expansion RAM. It draws a pumpkin, a haunted house, a skull and a witch. It runs for about two minutes and then repeats. The flying witch demo requires at least 4K of expansion RAM. A witch flies around a blank screen. When these two programs are combined, as in this video, then a witch flies around a haunted house. The program runs twice in this video. Enjoy this holiday program. Oh, and what's the deal with the pumpkin being yellow and not orange...? Adam
  7. Does anybody know of any Halloween themed Atari 2600 homebrew games? I know there are TONS of hacks out there but the only original Halloween themed games I could find are: Happy Halloween (WIP) Candy Catcher Tyre Trax: Level 4 (WIP) I'm asking as I'll be doing a ZeroPage Homebrew show on October 31st and wanted to fill it with great Halloween homebrew. If you don't know of any others besides those three, please feel free to recommend your favourite Halloween Atari 2600 hacks! EDIT: Added! 9. Today is release day (10 am PST, or 12 pm CST for us here in Texas) for the new Bubsy game.. The Woolies Strike Back. Of course for myself, SpongeFox, Robert R, Gold Leader, Jinroh, and other Bubsy fans over the years, this day is also... HALLOWEEN!!! Hahah... Latest fan art from SpongeFox who has contributed Bubsy art over the years, and who doodled art while we talked to Michael Berlyn and Faran Thomason a while back. So this is it folks, the release day for the new Bubsy game and already even before I can get my Bubsy copy out of Game Stop prison.. er. official release time, there are those that found copies and already made reviews even showing all the bosses in the game... What I am hearing is the game is fun, and as Robert R commented, there are many new moves that look inspired by the ScratchPad Bubsy such as breaking through walls and climbing moves. I can definiately see that, and am looking forward to this game when I get off work today. In the meantime, "Bubsy" is answering questions as previously advertised. It was a bit hard to track at first as I was looking in the Bubsy and Bubsy24x1 twitter feeds, Even checked the steam chatroom. However, then I got an answer to my question... I eventually realized that you have to check Bubsy's replies at the following link... https://twitter.com/BubsyThe_Bobcat/with_replies Some of the responses are hilarious so check it out! And with about six hours till release time you could probably still send off a question to #bubsy24x1 and maybe get an answer! More Bubsy news coming soon! ---- SPEACIAL NEWS FLASH... BUBSY WEARS PANTS!!! ------- (And a special 34% offer for the PC release plus free OST, but seriously, for the first time in 25 years Bubsy wears PANTS!!) Dream come true for some fans... film at 11...
  10. Just purchased a no label Halloween on Atari 2600 for a pretty good amount of money. I am not really an "expert" on Atari but I know my stuff and i've been wanting this game for a very long time. In my 5 years of collecting I have never come across this game in person, so I know that it is rare. But to those of you out there who know more than me maybe you can educate me on this topic a bit more. Is there any indication on how many of these actually exist? and would it be worth it to get it graded? Did the versions of this game come with a box?
  11. After 5 years of collecting I finally got one of the games I wanted from the beginning, Halloween on Atari 2600. The version I decided to finally purchase was the game with no label. Just a white sticker with the word "Halloween" written in orange across it. The story behind this version was that Wizard Video was liquidating their inventory so in order to save money they stopped producing labels and just wrote the names of the game on the cartridge. This raises an interesting question which i've never really seen an answer for. Which version is more rare? Of course the rarity guide has the no label version at an 8 and the label version at a 7, but in the description of the non label version it reads, "It is not clear which one is more rare"... Well in my 5 years of looking for this game waiting to finally get one for my collection I have seen a lot more labeled versions than non labeled versions for sale on the internet. Now this doesn't exactly mean that the non label version is more rare, but it stands for something. In the 5 years of collecting I have seen the label version for sale in a retail store but have NEVER seen the no label version for sale. It is a very compelling argument that I do not have a confident answer for. If I were to give my best guess from what i've seen over the years the no label version is more rare and hard to find. Either way it is unclear how many of these carts are out there and it remains one of the hardest to find games in the atari 2600 library.

  14. As we know the month of October brings one thing to your mind. Halloween, haunted houses, hayrides, and fall season. What games do you really enjoy playing during this time of the year? As for me I have a bunch. I enjoy the Castlevania series of course. The original is a true classic, Simon's Quest delivers a great RPG style adventure, and Dracula's Curse is my favorite of the series and my second all time favorite NES game. Castlevania 4 is another outstanding one. Splatterhouse on the TG-16 would be considered my favorite to play during this time of the year. It is an outstanding port of the arcade version, it truly is a Halloween themed game, and the haunting music and soundtrack really deliver. And for pre crash. I have to go with Haunted House for the 2600. It is best played with the lights out and truly gives an eerie experience. Share with us on which are your favorites?
  15. Does anyone make The Texas Chainsaw Massacre and Halloween reproductions?
  16. Hello all, I just wanted to shamelessly promote my auction for Halloween with manual on the 2600. eBay Auction -- Item Number: 161524829401 I discovered this in a lot that I found locally and since I'm not an Atari collector I figured I'd post this over here. The folks over at NintendoAge are also aware of it as that's where I primarily hang out. Thanks for looking!
  17. This one needs 2 people to play. I know it's a little late, but this game itself was a little late for its time, being in the November 1985 issue of Antic. Vampire Rats.atr I'm currently making a version of this for human vs computer. Any other ideas for Halloween type games?

  19. Greetings forums! This is my first post here, so excuse the bad formatting/writing. So I have an idea for a hack of the Wizard Video Halloween and Chainsaw 2600 games. It seems unfair that only Michael and Leatherface have their own games. Why not give Freddy and Jason theirs, too? The Halloween hack will, of course, have the same basic gameplay goal: To get the kids to the safe end of the house. Except now the kids are Nancy's friends (they're taller), and you have to get them out of Freddy's boiler room and into the real world (the safe rooms) before he kills you all. The opening song, and the song that plays when Freddy is on screen, will be a 2600 rendition of the "One, Two Freddy's coming for you" jingle from the movies. The Chainsaw hack will have the same gameplay goal: Kill all the girls on screen. Except you now play as Jason and swing your machete with the tap of the fire button. The farmhouse in the background is now replaced with Camp Crystal Lake cabins, and the girls now wear blue shirts and pants instead of dresses. Instead of fuel, you now have a Blade meter, which goes down as you kill. The chainsaw sound effect will now be gone when you're walking, and will only make a small "bump" sound when you press fire and swing the machete. The title screen won't flicker, it will just be black and say "Friday the 13th". The problem is, I have absolutely no idea how to hack a 2600 game, no matter how long I've browsed the forums looking for help. Could someone please give me some helpful start-up tips? Or any hacking tips at all. I would love to get these things to become a reality, and if they get done, I will post them on the game pages and put them up for download so everyone can enjoy them. And heck, maybe even get them to cart format on the store? There's also some art I did showing sprite and background changes, simply re-did the originals in Paint.net.
  20. Hello. I recently bought a CIB Halloween game, but i'm a bit worried that it could be a repro (there are a lot of fake Halloween copies circulating on the market). So i'd like to hear your opinions - is this genuine item or reproduction? Here i made some photos Cartridge: http://s020.radikal.ru/i714/1401/22/13747621754e.jpg http://s61.radikal.ru/i171/1401/13/e74b6b01fdee.jpg Box and Manual: http://s020.radikal.ru/i719/1401/ce/5cc42bf9ea33.jpg http://s017.radikal.ru/i421/1401/0b/a8bf91d62320.jpg http://s002.radikal.ru/i200/1401/13/f12d45fd0ef3.jpg Thanks.
  21. Hey everyone. Anyone know if this is the original box and instructions for TCM http://rover.ebay.co...-/200906887001? I've had the loose cart a few times and Halloween and its hard to know if this cart has the thumb grips from the picture (which i've asked about). How do you know if its an original box & instructions? surely you can buy the cart for $100 get a repro box? then pay £30 for a condition authentication and a piece of plastic. I dont trust people that sell these graded sealed games, it seems they pay 15-30 to have the condition labeled and then charge crazy money Someones even trying to get £115 for a sealed E.T (FFS!) just makes me angry as a colector and fellow (honest!) trader. I offered £300 as thats whats its worth in my opinion - If i'm wrong and this is worth anything like nearly $2,000 then please comment. If i was selling that, i would include some provenance. Any thoughts?
  22. Hi Everyone - I have a few Halloween (original) and Halloween Proto sets if anyone is interested. $50 shipped. Also have a few extra Halloweens (repro of original version - on left) $25
