  2. Hello everyone! First of all let me introduce a new, small company, called "Retro Venture". Our main goals are new accessories & new games for the whole range of Atari computers and consoles - made with love by the community for the community! Here is our first video spot: We bring back the good memories of the 80s & 90s! We are pleased to present you our first official product! This is the anti-dust cover designed for the Atari Jaguar console. Not only is it very aesthetic (looks like glass) it is also resistant to cracks, fractures and UV radiation. The Jaguar has never looked so beautiful! The biggest problem associated with the external port for the cartridge goes down in history. The cover also has port cutouts for JoyPads, as well as I/O on the back of the console. Thanks to this, there is no need for disconnecting the console, and the Jaguar itself looks EXTREMELY attractive! In addition, we took care with the design of the box that protects the lid from eventual damage, it is simply impossible. For this reason, the box can also serve as an additional Jaguar packaging (the console fits easily together with the cover - of course without the power supply). There's also a small surprise inside the box with every order! LONG LIVE THE JAGUAR! Price: 35 euro We would like to inform everyone interested that shipping abroad is 14 euros. Please add this amount to the price of the product you want. Make a transfer to the following PayPal account: [email protected] If possible please use the friends and family payment method (it'll save paying commission, that's friendly request, not mandatory). Please send your home address information and the item(s) you are purchasing as a message in the same PayPal transaction. Thanks for your interest. Discounts are available on bulk or multiple orders, email for a price. OFFICIAL RETRO VENTURE PROFILE - CLICK ME !
  3. I just released the first part of my Unreleased Jaguar series and thought you might enjoy it. It's going to be lengthy as I'm covering every game planned for the system during its active years, but not released. Part one details seldom if ever discussed sales figures and statistics before getting into the games. It runs in mostly alphabetic order, and at this point, I've covered A-AR. Some games will be held back as I try to verify information or get in touch with people involved, so don't fret if a game gets passed over. Anyways, I've done a massive amount of research to verify and dismiss a long list of games. If you want to check out the series, I wholeheartedly welcome you to. If you were involved in the creation of unreleased/canceled Jaguar games or If you've been involved in preserving Jaguar history relating to games and would like to contribute your story, please reach out to me. I would love to chat. -Jenovi Unreleased Atari Jaguar https://youtu.be/3A4P_oDB0TY
  4. Hey all! Just curious if anyone knows if the Atari Store is still operating and shipping products during COVID? About to purchase Iron Soldier 2 but I don’t know if they have the store on hold right now to be safe (which I fully support if so). Thanks!
  5. I seem to remember a youtube channel that specialized in the atari jaguar that had made some homebrew games and had a series called Jag virgins (or something like that) where they forced their friends to play jaguar games who never had before. Anyway I can't find this channel anymore, does it still exist? does anyone else even know who I'm talking about?
  6. After a good wait I finally got my Game Drive the other day and am mostly happy with it. I do have some observations about it's setup and usability which I'll be bringing up in my live video review of the device this Thursday, for anyone who wants to check that out. For now though I'm persevering with putting together a rom selection I'm happy with and have found compatibility so far to be hit or miss. Here's what I've found: Original commercial releases all work fine, in .jag format, if obtained from a good source. Reboot roms all work fine with the .rom extension, with the exception of 1. Other homebrew/indie games are hit or miss, whatever the extension. ST ports are also hit or miss. Pretty sure none of the skunkboard-modded roms work which I kind of expected. Several betas/protos/demos from the goodset don't work. Besides the commercial stuff, most of the roms I'm using were downloaded from threads here on Atariage, mostly from one master thread by Cyrano. From my 'master list', (a combination of commercial, homebrew and ports), here are my current non-workers and the fault I'm getting on my PAL Jaguar. RS = red screen after first jag logo screen, BS = black screenafter first jag logo screen, UFF = unknown file format that wont boot on either mode offered: 1943 - RS Aircars - RS Arkanoid ROD - BS Asteroids - BS Badlands - RS Bionic Commando - RS Brutal Sports Football - UFF Dragon Breed - RS Escape FTPOTRM - RM Flying Shark - RS Gorf 2000 - UFF JagMarble - UFF Midnight Resistance - RS Phase Zero - UFF Project One - BS Rampage - BS Rick Dangerous 2 - BS Solomon's Key - BS Star Wars Arcade - BS Stunt Car Racer - BS Teenage Mutant Hero Turtles - BS If anyone has links to working versions of these roms or any ports or homebrew known to work then I'd love it if you could share them. My only other question is on rom naming. Some roms read the naming I've manually given them on my PC for naming consistency, but many don't and I'm not sure where the Game Drive is reading them from. Made a couple of .mrq files for some games adding my naming for consistency and it's not reading it from there it seems. rom extensions also seem to show for some roms and not others? Could options not be added to change this to user preference? Auto name reading is always problematic in my eyes, editing file names is so simple on a PC after all.
  7. We cordially invite you to the 12th edition of the largest event for fans of ATARI consoles and computers in the world! This time we are celebrating our 20th anniversary... "Silly Venture"! Join us! Last year we broke the record in terms of the number of participants and works submitted for competitions! Just face the facts: All of that at an ATARI-only party! Without your participation this would not be possible - many thanks! The legend continues. Just has to. Long live the Atari demoscene! My Dears, due to the 20th anniversary of Silly Venture, we wanted to give you more than one T-shirt colour to choose from - especially since the logo designed by mOOnie looks simply amazing on all of them! (not forgetting the neat ATARI logo on the sleeve) We will probably choose the 3 or 4 that get the most votes, however we ask that people who decide to buy them take part in the survey. T-shirts will go to print next week - you will be able to order them pretty soon! (also with home delivery). Oh, and the most important thing - t-shirts will be even better quality than in previous years. The survey can be found at the official SV2020 profile on FACEBOOK: CLICK ME NOW! PLEASE DO NOT FORGET TO VISIT OUR SV2020 WEB-SITE FOR MORE INFO! WWW.SILLYVENTURE.EU
  8. Hello, I've had a look around on the internet but can't seem to find anywhere that stocks replacement Jaguar controller rubbers, specifically the D-pad. Are they available or is there a substitute? I received a second controller and after cleaning, and fixing the lead, the pad requires a solid press in one direction to move. Pad rubber is at fault, verified by turning rubber 90 degrees and testing then turning again and testing. Also after supplier of known good AU, or international, aftermarket Jaguar plugpack as most online advertised plugpacks never make rated amperage. I'm currently using the original UK plugpack with an adapter and will buy a rated Meanwell adapter and change the plug as needed but would like to find out what everyone is using. Repaired lead. Hot glue gun to fill in the missing sheath. Lead then depinned and sleeved with 10mm heatshrink.

  11. I'm looking to purchase a working Skunkboard for the Jaguar v2 or v3. Just got back into this and looks like I missed out.
  12. How many consoles do you own? I am curious to see what we all have. I used to have 4 but gave one to a friend. I have 3x consoles now and 2x Jag CDs. Still....when i see them in the wild i am tempted to buy them. I may go up to 4 again soon. Also--I find certain games don't work well with certain motherboard revisions. Usually if i find a game is glitching or crashing; i try it on another Jag of mine and it will work fine. To the poll---Please don't respond "0" if you don't play Jag or have any interest in Jag. I'm trying to guage Jag gamers who use emulation vs actual console owners. Thanks!
  13. Hi. I recently bought an Atari Jaguar of eBay. It is PAL. It seems to power on and shows a green light. But when I hook it up to the TV, I see a distorted image (what you see when you don’t insert an Atari 2600 cartridge properly) I’ve been told by someone that the console is working as it should and the image I see is caused by the PAL system being used in an NTSC country. What do you think? By the way, I am using the AV signal. Is there something I need to buy to get it working? Thank you!
  14. Hello, I own a copy of World Tour Racing for the Atari Jaguar and I was wondering what is the going price for this game? I do see it is a Rare game for the Jaguar. A person has it on Ebay for $500.
  15. I started seeing information on the web about modifying the Jaguar with AV outputs. Why would anyone do that if the Jaguar already outputs composite video? I plan on getting an AV cable and plugging into the back. Isn't that preferred over hacking the console?
  16. Hi all, I bought this s-video cable for my Atari Jaguar and did a fairly quick test with Doom on one of my TV's. What am I supposed to expect? I had to change the contrast on my TV since I could barely see anything on Doom. Then it was fine and it did look better. How dark is Doom supposed to be? The red was bleeding off a little bit. Is there a better s-video cable than this or is this the best one? http://www.ebay.com/itm/171281346550?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649 cheers, Yan

    AC 2013

The meeting that used to be known as Jaguar Connexion, AC, was held in Congis, France last weekend. The event was great as usual and it's always fun to meet up in person with friends you maybe only get to see once every few years (hi GGN!). Reboot, U-235, CVSD, SCPCD Corp, Groovybee and many others were there tinkering away with their vintage hardware and one or two more modern devices Here's a video I took of the various machines, games and presentations from the event... ...and also a 2Mb Jaguar slideshow ROM of 640x480 photos (some mine, some borrowed form the links in the thread on Yaro): Was also nice to personally place the Jagware Collection copies in the hands of some of the other contributors to the project. \o/ The theme for the speed coding competition was to make a retro/8-bit Baroudeur style game with multiple screens, collects, against the clock and with multiple endings and simple static screen gameplay. Linkovitch made a nice start on a game "Gaztee's Quest For The Golden Cucumber", Matmook's offering was an interesting and graphically pleasing platform adventure, CJ even produced a quick game while sat on the other side of the planet almost 12 hours out of sync with the rest of us, the first level having a cool scrolling dungeon that was only visible around the player (using a rmw object for lighting) - I think thi scould well form the basis for a decent little Jaguar game with a little thought and care. GGN and Ukko worked on a great little game for the Falcon that had the dungeon revealing as the player discovered more of the map, it also had an interesting Typing Of The Dead inspired monster chase level! Away from the stuff going on around me, other platforms such as the Intellivision (Groovybee), Wonder Swan Colour, Lynx (great stuff from Fadest!), Game Boy Advance and Colecovision saw entries. The results of the competition seemed a little surprising to some, including myself, but the point of the compo is never to "win" but to spend 24 hours or so arsing around making rubbish games you'll never finish Personally, for future AC events I'm definitely going to take a step away from the compo stuff and try to explore the event more, chat to my friends there a lot more, play more of the old machines and eat more pizza/baguettes/croissants 'cause I can stay at home and stick my head in my laptop producing utter garbage for a day without all the travelling either side EDIT: D'oh! Forgot to mention, I demoed a few new Reboot games such as Full Circle: Rocketeer (late Beta version), a couple of complete mini games that will round out some re-release projects later in the year, some less complete mini games and also a few proof of concept type builds of various things we're worked on over the years. Lots of useful feedback there from those who saw and played. EDIT 2: Also worth mentioning, two Jagwares had their birthdays around the time of AC and received some nice gifts - see if you can spot who in the slideshow ROM...
  18. So I just received my shiny new Jag CD (first one I’ve ever owned!) and I’m pretty stoked about it (mostly for collector’s sake). I already know which official games I plan on picking up but I’m also curious which are the best homebrew/posthumous releases for the CD. I’ve enjoyed some of the Jaguar HB games, now it’s time to look at the CD games. Thanks for any suggestions!
  19. Hello again, I was here for a little while, got a couple of amazing systems thanks to some wonderful members here, and then disappeared into life (sinus insanity for 10 months now). But I'm back (not that you noticed me missing) and still haven't gotten some of the systems I'm after. I have had awful sinuses for the past year and haven't been able to go find them 'in the wild', and have had great luck here, so thought I'd try again. I'm looking for an Atari 5200 and 7800, Jaguar, Intellivision and, believe it or not, a CD-I. I have fond memories of the CD-I because of when and how I got it, it'd be a shelf sitter that gave me a gooey feeling inside. I'd prefer to deal with folks I can talk to on here than ebay, as I said last time. I'm not necessarily trying to find mint stuff, just in good shape and functional. If I want to pay too much, I've no doubt that I can go to a game store or ebay for that, please try to be fair (and I understand fair goes both ways). I'm open to other neat systems too if you happen to be looking to unload any. Thanks!

  21. Hey all! I’m a fairly new member here. Rekindled my fondness for the Jaguar last year and have gotten back into collecting big time and it’s been a blast! I’m looking at a few items on the AA Store that are cheaper here than on eBay. Curious how trustworthy the store is? I assume it’s legit, but I always get nervous buying from new places and putting my debit card info in. Anyone ever have any issues or have any insight at all into the store? Thanks!
  22. I also have Atari Karts and Zero 5 new in the box on their way here from the UK. They can join my copy of Another World in all their rareness. Question, has Mutant Penguins becoe rare/hard to find? Mine was way too expensive.
  23. Hello, (this is my first post). I recently purchased a copy of Doom. I noticed it was slightly different than the photo posted on Ebay and I'm confident it's not the one in the photo. I'm okay with that, but I want to make sure it's a real game. The box seemed a little shinier than other Jaguar boxes and I'm afriad it's a reproductions. I spent about $160 (CAN) on it so I really want it to be 100% original. Is there anything I can do to make sure it's original? Also, I was not able to test out the cartridge because I had a water leak and had to box up all my consoles while they replace the carpet.
  24. A real labor of love is finally complete. An Atari drawing for everyday of the month of October 2016 (31 drawings), now in one beautifully printed collection, Inktober 2016 | Atari Propaganda. Atari Lynx, Atari ST, and Atari Jaguar are featured most of the time, but there are a few bonuses in there as well. Because I am not one for heavy marketing, I want to make sure that everyone who would like a copy of this collection can get it for a deal right up front. I also don't want to spend the next year packing and shipping books, I got more Atari art to make darn it! So here is a bit of encouragement to purchase sooner rather than later. If you purchase the Atari Propaganda collection before the end of the day January 27th, you can get the $20 book for $18 USD (%10 off). If that is still too much, sign up for my mailing list (link at the top of my website) and get an additional %15 off of a single copy making your purchase $15 + shipping. This includes a dated signature from the artist of course. Not interested in buying the whole collection? Not a problem, I also have all the larger (8.5x11") art prints of every drawing on sale as well for $7 a piece. Pick the ones you really want, without the hassle of flipping the pages of a book. Thank you for the support, and enjoy the Atari fan art goodness!
