  1. Hey all, We are NewWaveToys (the creators of Replicade) and we are back with our second and final Kickstarter! https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/529306246/replicade-mini-tempest-arcade-machine-replica-12-t Just like last time, we are going for a truly authentic feel with our Tempest machine, just in 1/6th scale. It is completely licensed through Atari, which allows us to use all the original art as well as the original ROM. If you are interested, please come check us out as there are only 8 days left on the Kickstarter!
  2. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1400504074/the-scientists-1-3-dangerous-ya-adventure-comic If you like adventures like the Goonies, but with a sci-fi thriller edge, check out this comic! A group of young science prodigies are the lab rats in a deadly experiment. Have they finally found the way out?
  3. Hey all, We are NewWaveToys (the creators of Replicade) and we just launched a Kickstarter! https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/529306246/replicade-mini-centipede-arcade-machine-replica-12 We are going for a truly authentic feel with our Centipede machine, just in 1/6th scale. It is completely licensed through Atari, which allows us to use all the original art as well as the original ROM. We posted on the Replicade thread, but we also wanted to create our own. If you have any questions about the Centipede machine or anything else, feel free to ask! (although I may not be able to answer everything).
  4. As the Bubsy kickstarter comes to a close, here is art from SpongeFox to celebrate the occation. First he ate the Death Pepper. (see last entry.) Looks like it lived up to its name... And this other cute one for the last few hours...
  5. I saw this a couple of days ago. The Game Boy Zero: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/sparky/gameboy-zero-handheld-edition/description Basically it's a Raspberry Pi Zero with a 2.8" screen, and switches in Gameboy layout (plus extras), all on a single PCB. Case would be layered acrylic or one of your own making. It's all open source, so if you don't want to buy in now, you could find a way to make one or more yourself, later. There's a few things I would have done differently, but overall, this looks well designed. I like the single PCB solution. There's probably a dozen (or maybe many more) similar projects out there, so there's probably room to be fussy on which one, if any, you would choose. This is on Kickstarter - Proceed at your own risk! Feel free to discuss this project, or similar projects...
  6. Some of you may have heard of the P112 single board computer kit and have been wondering when more will be available. If you don't know what the P112 is, it's a single board computer that uses the Zilog Z180 microprocessor to run CP/M and similar operating system. There's a flavor of Unix for it called UZI-180. This is a kit, that is, you solder it together yourself. I've started a Kickstarter project to finance a new run of PCBs and parts. See http://661.org/p112/ to read about the P112 and download the user manual. A kit is $100 with $12 extra for shipping outside the US. This gets you the board with surface-mount parts soldered on, a boot ROM, two CDs full of stuff, and two serial port pigtails. I didn't want to make complete kits this time round because my costs for doing so have gone way up. Instead I have prepared a shared project on Mouser.com with most of what you'll need. Two parts need to be obtained from Digikey instead. The Kickstarter.com page is http://www.kickstart...rd-computer-kit. Feel free to email me with any questions.
  7. I bought some Christmas ornaments from Triverse's Kickstarter auction. My Pacman and DigDug sets arrived undamaged. They look fantastic! https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/carlwilliams/video-game-perler-christmas-ornaments All around nice guy to do business with...

  9. This game is seriously awesome. Not without its faults, but since it's still in alpha stage, I'm forgiving. Even if nothing gameplay-wise is altered, I'm still very happy with it. It really reminds me of that old school feel, the kind you get from Crazy Taxi or even Twisted Metal, with a good, solid core of Road Rash within. Playing it gives you a rush, something you don't get from slow games like Civ 5 or Skyrim or even many of these modern FPS's. These are the kind of modern games I wish developers would make. Anyone else kickstart it/plan on buying it?
  10. Insert Coins and let the one-two punch of arcade nostalgia hit you right in your wardrobe. ARKADO RETURNS is a follow up to my first Kickstarter campaign, ARKADO, that was sucessfully funded and delivered in 2014. Like it's former, ARKADO RETURNS is a celebration of 26 vintage arcade titles that range from the beloved to the obscure. Can you name them all? This time ARKADO RETURNS with two designs presented in both Horizontal Mode and Vertical Mode, like the arcade screen orientation of the past. Like my previous campaigns, the goal is to fund a limited edition run of this artwork on apparel and print. If successfully funded, this limited edition apparel will be made to order for the backers along side a small batch run to be sold at conventions and shows. Like ARKADO, EFEMERECO, and WINNERS DON'T DRINK DRUGS, once all these shirts have been sold, no more will be made. The tees will be silk screened with Pantone 375 C and Reflex Blue C ink onto super soft, Bella Canvas 100% Cotton Baby Blue Unisex Tees. These tees are available in size EXTRA SMALL through 4XL. $15.00 for 1 or $27.00 for 2, Free Shipping in U.S.A. Claim yours at OneRadTee.com
