Here's something that I found yesterday: I have to give kudos to the author for tying the plot of this game to Operation C, Shattered Solider, Legacy of War, and Hard Corps Uprising.

I decided to offer many of my MSX games as 'bundles'. These games were bought during my summer trip to Japan. They are for MSX machines. Down the road, I will be offering MSX machines as reasonable prices as well. I picked these games up as they tend to require to least amount of Japanese language skills necessary to enjoy them. Lynx ports: -Magical Drop -Cadash -Aqua Jack -The NinjaWarriors -The New Zealand Story -Chase H. It looks like we entered the area of rare and expensive Atari games which are difficult to collect but that is only true for CommaVid. The other 2 are completed, Konami with 2 restored labels and Epyx with even 3 replaced new labels. Very proud of these... Lot of work!

ARE YOU READY FOR SOME NEW CASTLEVANIA!?! So I did a google news search of "Castlevania", and supposedly there are two new titles coming out. The first is a sequel to Lords of Shadow, and is rumored to be available on the Vita and upcoming Wii U. The second is a platformer for the 3DS, which was described as a platformer with two playable charecters and a co-op mode. I'm not sure if this refers to simultanious New SMB type co-op, or weird Portrait of Ruin co-op. I am very excited for some new Castlevania handheld titles, as these are long overdue. Metroidvania seems to fit in with Nintendo portable like a fish to water. I'm not too sure how I feel about the LoS 2 game for Vita; my gut tells me that it will end up being a lot like the 360 release, visually stunning but not much of a game. Personally, I wouldn't mind seeing a platformer on the Vita either. Anyone who has played Rayman Origins can attest to the the Vita's platforming chops. Comment and speculate away!

This Frogs (Gremlin, 1978) arcade video game shirt may be of interest to some of you. Frogs was developed in the 70s by Gremlin before they were bought by Sega. It has no relation to Frogger, developed by Konami and released by Sega in the states. A few years later, Frog Bog for the Intellivision bore a striking resemblance to Frogs. Shirt is available in tri-blend ($24) and cotton ($20). Once it's out of print in the next couple of weeks, it's done. https://videoarcade.bigcartel.com/product/frogs-shirt

It's good to find somewhere dedicated to Atari and classic games in general - I had no idea this wonderful site existed! Anyway, apologies for the poor pun...and the slightly odd topic, but something pulled me back towards Frogger at the weekend. It been had years - perhaps as many as twenty - since I'd last played the game, but once I started playing, it was very difficult to stop. I was - as anyone who watches the video will see - very very bad at it. But, here's the thing...the design is so good, I really didn't mind having to endlessly retry, and as soon as I have a bit more time - probably the weekend now - I'm going to get back to it. Can anyone guide me as to where to head next? Is there anything Frogger-like that I should be aware of? I'd hugely appreciate help and guidance with my return to the classics:) Here's my dreadful Frogger skills for all to see:) https://youtu.be/cuCwfgD5-FA

MAME 0.230 Fasten your seatbelts and get ready for MAME 0.230! There are big changes this month, but before we get to that, let’s highlight some of the more routine additions. Several TV games featuring adaptations of popular Hasbro board games are now supported, as well as a couple of VTech systems featuring Dora the Explorer. Several electronic toys and handheld LED game from Mattel and Invicta have been emulated this month. There’s a big update for the Apple II software lists this month, with clean cracks of lots of educational software from MECC. If you’ve been following along with development, you’re no doubt excited about the new Yamaha OPM/OPN (YM2151, YM2203, YM2608, YM2610, YM2610B, YM2612, and YM3438) sound emulation core. This addresses numerous subtle and not-so-subtle issues, particularly in Sega and Data East games. Windy Fairy and Jennifer Taylor have continued to improve MAME’s support for Konami rhythm games, making beatmania IIDX, Beatmania III, Keyboardmania and ParaParaParadise games playable. Thanks to Happy, a couple more graphics issues with the Hyper Neo Geo 64 have been fixed. There’s been a lot of work on the Apple IIgs and 68k Mac drivers this month. As well as the flood of machines promoted to working, Apple 3.5" floppy support has been revolutionised, and improvements to ADB GLU microcontroller simulation make the IIgs control panel usable. On the console side, save EEPROM support has been fixed for several Mega Drive games. Of course that’s not all, and you can read about all the additions, bug fixes, and enhancements in the whatsnew.txt file. You can get the source and 64-bit Windows binary packages from the download page and start playing. Read the rest of this entry »
