Usage notes. Usage notes and titles list in this document were compiled from various posts. Super Vectrex Multicart (SVM) Usage Notes: Super Vectrex Multicart title selection functionality as used with the Vectrex Reset button. SVM supports a feature to use the Vectrex front panel "Reset" button in two different ways. A quick press. Or a long (greater than 1 second) press. Using the quick press feature of the Reset button will result in restarting the currently selected ROM title. Using the long press feature of the Reset button will result in returning to the SVM Main Menu allowing for selecting of a different ROM title. Some of the ROMs in the titles list are a multiple game title ROM in themselves. (e.g.: All Good Things.) After selecting the ROM the player will be presented with the title's menu inside the ROM for choosing other individual games inside the ROM. Some of the ROMs below require accessory hardware in order to start and use the title. Such as a Vectrex 3D Imager, Light Pen, or third party spinner controller. All "3D" ROM titles requiring the Vectrex 3D Imager will show a blank display after starting the game without the 3D Imager attached. (e.g.: "3D Crazy Coaster", 3D MineStorm", etc.) This is expected and normal operation for a 3D title. To see game play graphics displayed plug a 3D Imager into Vectrex Controller Port 2. All ROMs requiring the Vectrex Light Pen (LightPen) will provide only limited usage after starting the title without the Light Pen attached. (e.g.: "Art Master", "Mail Plane", etc.) The title will start and the game can be selected. But actions needing the Light Pen will be unavailable. (e.g.: In Mail Plane game play destination selection and package loading cannot be accomplished.) Original era and homebrew ROMs requiring extra RAM on the printed circuit board (PCB) are not supported by the Super Vectrex Multicart. No RAM exists on the SVM PCB. Those titles are not included on the SVM. (e.g.: "Animaction") Extra RAM was not included on the SVM PCB to keep the sale price as low as possible. All titles in the list noted with "(IL)" are a modified version of the title with infinite lives for use by the player. All titles in the list noted with "(Invincibility)" are a modified version of the title where the player cannot be hit and killed. All titles in the list noted with "(Level Select)" are a modified version of the title where the player can choose the starting level. All titles in the list noted with "(Spinner)" are a modified version of the title enabled to use a spinner controller. Usually in controller port 2. All titles in the list noted with "(Button)" are a modified version of the title enabled to use a the controller's buttons to control player movement. All titles in the list noted with "(Joystick)" are a modified version of the title enabled to use a the controller's joystick to control player movement. All titles in the list noted with "(2D)" are a modified version of the title enabled to operate without the use of a Vectrex 3D Imager. All titles in the list noted with "(BCG)" are a ports from BASIC games by Ralf Kornmann based on the original games in the 1973 edition of "101 BASIC Computer Games" by David H. Ahl. All titles in the list noted with "(Speed)" are a modified version of the title incorporating increased speed of one or more game design elements as compared with the original title. (e.g: For Berzerk (Speed) the player, bullets, robots and Evil Otto all move a bit quicker.)

  4. Hey folks, I just installed a LED backlight! It worked great but... I wanted to remove the coil (transformer) for more battery saving and now the contrast wheel doesn't change the brightness and I believe the screen has no image. Is there a certain way to remove these or other components to remove or any bridging that needs to be done?
  5. Warning! May cause feels from nostalgia.
  6. Hi, I just did a cap kit on jr. and the only thing that ain't working is the led. It wasn't working before either. I put a 12 volt from china on there and it ain't lighting up. I tested the led with a diode function on the tester and it read .81. I took a resistance test and I got OL. It's in reverse? Lol? Thanks.
  7. Thanks Brett Walach for the Updated Vectorblade IC with Malban's updated Vectorblade release v1.03. And the Vectrex LED enhancement add-on boards too! https://PlayVectrex.com/ #Vectrex #Vectorblade #PlayVectrex #LED
  8. Hi, I am trying to build my first mod for my 2600. It is an LED mod. I am trying to purchase the parts (not much to them) and am curious what does the led have to be rated for the 2600. All I know is the 2600 takes .5 A and 9 V. What does that mean for the LED? The wire is rated for 24 AWG right? This was the site I was going to order off of. https://canada.newark.com/search?st=led%20red Thanks in the future if anyone responds.

  13. I'm trying to restore an arcade cabinet from 1983. The CRT monitor is shot and honestly, I'd rather have an LED/LCD screen in it's place. (Don't get me wrong, CRT, when working, looks great) I don't know much about how to connect the monitor and most of what I see out there has DVI and/or VGA ports which are clearly not going to connect on an old system arcade cabinet like this. Will this work? https://na.suzohapp.com/products/accessories/49-3223-01 Does this need an adapter to connect it to the arcade machine? Thanks!
  14. Here is my power LED mod for the Intellivision. I wanted to do something a little different then the red LED thing. I wanted something a bit more subtle.
  15. I put together a few INTYs with RGB and power LED, I've one for sale now. eBay Auction -- Item Number: 232273666426 I realize I'm no veteran so here are links to my work... http://atariage.com/forums/topic/262378-intellivision-rgb-install/ http://atariage.com/forums/topic/263108-intellivision-power-led-light-pipe/
  16. Here's a quick power LED mod I did for my 4-switch woody 2600. It's not pretty but it works so far. I didn't want to mess with the original look of my Atari, so I chose not to drill a hole at the top or through the power switch itself. I used a 150 Ohm resistor and used the 5V and Ground on the main board. I didn't want to solder directly to pins 2 and 3 of the voltage regulator but I could have done that instead. The short pin on the LED goes to Ground. I also made sure the wires did not touch the 'heat plate' surrounding the voltage regulator, which can get very hot.
  17. Good morning, everyone! I am trying to collect my materials for replacing the LEDs on a 1200XL in my collection, and the LED bulbs arrived yesterday. However, the packets are labeled anything from 2v to 2.7v and variances both between as well as outside of that range, depending on the color. The variations I expected, after reading up on LED lamps. However, the 2v-etc voltages of the lamps are making me anxious, because I thought they were supposed to be 5v (with variations related to color of lamp). As if that wasn't enough, I happened across a site explaining the myth of a 5v LED, as seen here: http://led.linear1.org/myth-of-the-5-volt-led/ The last thing I want to do is drop in one of these lamps (much less an entire header that needs replaced LEDs!), and plow 5v through bulbs that can only handle 2v-etc and watch the 1200XL light up in the space of a smoking VBLANK. Could somebody offer me some direction? Will it be okay? Are there any modifications I need to make with these bulbs so they'll work with the Atari's 5v system? Or am I being anxious over this thing called "forward voltage" when the lamps will be just fine? Thank you, in advance! Timothy Kline If anyone needs to know what I'm hoping to use, I purchased the LED lamps shown at the link below: http://r.ebay.com/xc1GZz
  18. So I thought the red LED light on my Vic-20 was a bit boring. I saw one of these kits on ebay, a color changing, flashing, LED replacement for only 5 bucks. It has a cable that just pops into the original socket. The O.E plastic LED mount just kind of crumbled away with a pair of needle nose pliers when i tried to remove it. So all in all, this took 5 minutes to do and looks pretty darn cool http://www.ebay.com/itm/commodore-64-VIC-20-Fast-flash-color-changing-RGB-LED-assembly-13-in-long-difuse-/161886703987?hash=item25b1331173:g:~wAAAOSwkZhWRiqQ
  19. I'm looking to find the first/earliest handheld devices that shipped with an LED backlight. More than likely, they would have had a lightguide. Is anyone aware of which were the earliest products and what was the year they were introduced? Thanks!
  20. We all remember some DOS-era computers that had a light that flickered with levels of CPU activity, disk activity, etc. I wonder what the technical possibility would be to have a kind of "LED shell" that could do something similar for the Intellivision? I'm thinking of a kind of cartridge shell with maybe an Arduino trinket and a watch battery inside, some kind of attachment (wire?) that would attach on one of cartridge address lines, with a LED or two mounted on top. Then open up an existing cart, place it in the "LED shell" and during play it would light up in certain conditions. This isn't about commercial feasibility, just the tech and development angle... Would it be possible? I would love to have extra Christmas Lights on my Christmas Carol game!
  21. Here is a video ive been meaning to upload on a blue led nintendo dealer sign i snagged on ebay. Hope you enjoy it. I think it was a great deal!
  22. Greetings, fellow 8-BITers! I have been enjoying my ATARI 400 for some time, but recently I noticed that the red LED that usually is lit when the power is on no longer works! I'm no stranger to the soldering iron, and I spent some time looking around the 'ternets for any clues on what type of LED this is, and how to replace it, but have had no luck! Can anyone point me in the right direction? Also, is a failing power-LED a sign of something else going wrong? THANKS! -a2a
