  1. Has anyone made a Genesis repro with a Master System ROM on it, thus eliminating the need for a powerbase converter? I've checked around but I haven't been able to find any information on how to do this (if it's even possible).
  2. Hi guys, Well, I’d like to have a Master Everdrive that is not the X7 so no save states or whatever and I also want a regular Famicom N8 Everdrive. I do not want the Pro. Please PM if you have any of those cartridges, but even if you do, I’ll let you know when I want to buy them.
  3. Hi everyone, its finally happened, I'm at the point where I'm ready to start unloading my collection. I wanted to give you guys the good folks at AA first crack at anything you might be interested in. This list contains something like 350 games, so unfortunately I'm going to start if off as a list with no pictures. These games are in various states of conditions, but assume the vast majority of them are working, have been played by me personally, and are usually in PAL UK version where applicable. Some of the older stuff like the master system might be Japanese or US copies, but generally is not an issue. If I own it, I can play it on a European console, as that's my near exclusive limit (outside a neo geo AES - not being sold!). Some are boxed, some are not. Some have instructions, some do not. They are all unsealed, there is no Wata level quality here. I'm a gamer, and these games were played. Please PM for interest in items, I can send prices for those games with images of boxes, manuals and state of disk/cart. Use this topic for general queries. I might be able to do pictures of specific collections of things, but nothing is in an easy to view format right now other than this list. Some things I can do prices now, but the lists are far too big. I'll try and update with time if I can. Hopefully obvious, but my native country is England, United Kingdom, prices will be in GBP £££ but will happily convert to your local currency, and give you potential postage to your country - just let me know where you live! Big orders I will try to do free postage, but all orders will be tracked shipping. If you live in Manchester/Liverpool, Cheshire, Birmingham area, Gloucestershire or Wiltshire we can discuss potential dropping off/meet instead, but note I live in Cheshire. About 6 months ago I started this topic: This was me processing letting go of significant number of games. Soon after I put my house on the market, and bought my next one up. In the process this took a backseat - and initially I had boxed about 100 games I was "ready" in mind to sell. This has now increased to something like 350, including PC games (hence why I'm going to start with lists, then will do pictures as requested). A few other things have happened, the work on the house has cost us considerably more than we planned, and the profit from the first house has already emptied to 0. We also had our car break down on moving day, and this caused issues with our buyers which cost us more money. The car has now fully broken down and we have had to borrow money to buy a 'new' (and by new, I mean 15 year old!) car. This is a bit of a boo-hoo story I know, but it leads to me realising that I have boxes full of cash I just need to get rid of, and I might be able to pay off the debt at least. I would also like to make sure I can manufacture some more Odyssey 1 multicards which I was planning on doing this month, but due to car - needs potentially delaying. Anyway... onto the list. I think there will be another cull at some point, but this is "second wave" culling and includes games like Zelda that I thought I would never get rid of. I've decided to get rid of my entire collection of N64 games, but don't get excited most are unboxed and all are relatively common-uncommon. PC: I need to form a list of PC games but I have already divided some up into prices, these are mostly "big box" games, though a mix of CD and floppy disk. If anyone is interested I'll try and develop a list asap. DOUBLES: These are just doubles I have for sale, I won't be selling any other games for these systems (1st, 2nd and selected 3rd gen consoles) Magnavox Odyssey: Volleyball boxed and complete. I'll take £90 for it as someone on ebay is going for that much. Atari 2600: Would probably sell both these games for a £5 to get rid of it. Both loose. Pac Man (double) Pitfall (double, I don't think this works on all 2600 machines... rubbish label before you ask) Voltmace Database (This is a 1292 alternative system, there is an adapter to use it in more common formats like the acetronic system, but I'm not selling it!): Various games, many boxed with instructions £10 each, 2 loose with instructions, £5 each. Collections being sold off: These are 1st and 2nd wave removals from my collections, other than the N64 which I'm selling fully there may be other games on these systems I'm selling in the future. Stuff like Neo Geo, Atari, Amiga and Philips alongside 32x, Mega CD, 3DO and TG16 etc are currently intending to be kept. NES: Adventures of Bayou Billy, The Bubble Bobble Donkey Kong Double Dragon III - The Sacred Stones Dr. Mario Duck Hunt Excitebike Golf Iron Sword: Wizards and Warriors 2 Jack Nicklaus 18 holes Kickle Cubicle Lemmings Mission: Impossible Pac-Man Super Off Road (Ivan Ironman Stewarts) Super Mario Bros. - Duck Hunt Teenage Mutant Hero Turtles Zelda II - The Adventure of Link Sega Master System: Note some of these are US or Japanese carts, but work on PAL machines too. 4. Hello to all. I was just wondering if it would be possible to put ColecoVision games on the Sega Master System (Or mostly SG-1000). This is my first topic started. You can read this topic here: https://www.smspower.org/forums/1433-ColecoGamesOnASMS
  5. Looking for modern console carry case options. [2600, 5200, 7800, Colecovision, Intellivision, SEGA Master System 1/2 etc...] Also, console carry cases for the mini systems. I have hard shell console cases Genesis, Dreamcast, Jaguar and a couple soft shell cases. But looking at the absurd prices that some of the cases are going for (and don't get me started on shipping costs). I'm looking for more modern less expensive options like Naki G-pak cases. The older larger systems like the Colecovision are hard to find carry case options that fit the system & accessories. What do you use? Thanks
  6. Today I have some relatively new information on a $17 controller adapter that you can obtain on Ebay that, when combined with a PC 15 pin gameport to Atari 5200 controller adapter (like the one currently being made by bohoki) will get your Atari 2600, Sega Master System, and Sega Genesis controllers working on your 5200. What's extra awesome about this is that the Sega controllers have compatibility with the two button games, and this is what the Masterplay Clone enables. (Unfortunately, no one is currently producing the Masterplay Clone for purchasing, though.) Here is the Ebay link to the product: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Amiga-Atari-Amstrad-Commodore-DB9-9Pin-Joystick-to-15Pin-Port-support-Usb-Adpt/272348471848?hash=item3f693be228:g:Df4AAOSwUd9aaMnL I've ordered adapters from this Ebay seller, Ikonsgr74, since 2015 and can vouch for his top-notch workmanship. He will not disappoint you. I have some additional good news: The Atari 2600 Trakball works with it to play the digital games that may be worth a try on the 5200. I have tried it with Gyruss, Ballblazer, and Galaxian with nice control results- especially Gyruss. The trakball unfortunately doesn't work with the analog-only games like Missile Command, Tempest, Star Wars Arcade, and Super Breakout. For two button digital games like Defender and Dreadnaught Factor, the Sega Sportspad (which is a trackball) also works great. If you have a couple of Camerica NES products (The receiver for the "Freedom Stick" with Genesis cables and the "Freedom Connection" transmitter device) you can add those adapters and get your NES controllers working on the 5200. I have enjoyed playing with my NES Starmaster joystick and NES Max gamepad on games like Dig Dug and Defender. In fact, on Defender, the Star Master joystick helped me to get my best ever score of around 89,000. That joystick has a very satisfying 'click' for each direction it is tilted- though it's not actually a microswitch-laden joystick like the Quickshot II Plus. Hard to describe, but it's just a perfect joystick and I'm very grateful to be able to use it to play my favorite 5200 games. I've detected no lag by the way, so that's good... Also there's a way to connect the 8bitdo NES Retro Receiver to the 5200 via the two adapters (and Camerica NES products and NES Fourscore) and play your 5200 digital games wirelessly with the controllers it's compatible with: The Dual Shock 4, Dual Shock 3, Wii Remote, and Wii U Pro Controller. I've tested it and had great success just last evening. Hope you enjoy the info. Special thanks to Swami for being the 1st guinea pig to try out Ikonsgr74's newly revised controller adapter on the 5200 (via being added to the bohoki adapter). I'm definitely grateful for learning about this from you.
  7. My Retro/Vintage Gaming Hobby I Am a Child from the Dawn of the Video Game Age Taking a side trip here away from my adventures here. Anyone who knows me personally, can attest that I am somewhat of a geek and so it’s no surprise that I became an mechanical/aerospace engineer by trade. With that stated, I always had an interest in building things and tinkering with electronics, etc.. As I was growing up in the 70's I was fortunate to experience and be able to participate in the dawn of a new era. It all started simple enough with my father coming back from a business trip in Texas one year with one of the first ever digital calculators. I was hooked. I loved the display, the tactile feel of the buttons and the ease of use. I was further inspired when I saw advanced calculators becoming available and even into my high school and college years where I always had to have the latest programmable calculators for my science, math and eventually engineering courses. Now this seems pretty minor in this day and age, but back then, looong before cell phones, home computers, high level object oriented programming languages, etc.. this was an exciting era for me. Read more here... http://rubikonadventures.blogspot.com... A long time friend of mine came by for a visit one day and asked if it was OK to shoot video of my old video game collection and my "man cave" where I hibernate during the winter months when I am not out exploring. Enjoy another facet of my persona here: https://youtu.be/818OZog0Y4I Me Meeting Nolan Bushnell, Founder of Atari and founder of the industry.
  8. Hello to all, I've just decided to create a type of Mission emulator for the SG-1000 and Master System. It can be seen here: https://www.smspower.org/forums/17943-MissionForSG1000BasedOffOfMSXVersionByMarcelDeKogel This was also based off of Mission for MSX by Marcel De Kogel. This post has been edited.
  9. This photo is actually from 2017 but (surprisingly) my collection hasn't changed that much. I am casing CIB NES and SNES games now and I have more Sega CD games than what's pictured. But this is still pretty much how it looks. I have a lot more photos up on my Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/retromegabit/
  10. Hi, I have come into possession of an ASCII Stick Alpha for the Sega Master System. I have done some Google/Atari Age searching and have come to a limited understanding that trying to use it on a 7800/2600/800XL might be a bad idea, but I don't understand why and under what circumstances (if any) that it might work. But then I have a buddy who swears that he has played some of his Atari games using a different SMS controller for decades and it hasn't caused him any problems. What happens when one tries to play his or her Atari with a Master System controller? Thanks for your time, --SilvaHaloOne
  11. As many are aware, Sega Master System fans (centralized at SMS Power's forum) have long been converting Game Gear games to be compatible on the SMS using the Master Everdrive, for instance. Unrelated (you'd think), but during the 90's, Taiwanese and Korean publishers converted some MSX (originally SG-1000) games like Rally-X, Road Fighter, etc., to Master System. Why? Who knows! Well, someone discovered or obtained the software tools they used to do this. These tools have now been applied to additional MSX games with varying results. You'll have to follow the action at SMS-power, because this is all in its infancy at the moment, but cool nonetheless http://www.smspower.org/forums/16445-MSXToSMSHacks
  12. When I was recording these games I was surprised by how well some translated to an 8 bit system such as Mortal Kombat & Road Rash, while others probably should not have been released like Altered Beast. What are some of your favorite ports between Sega cartridge consoles? Here is every game compared in 1 video: Here is each game individually:
  13. Does anyone have or know where I can get a scan of a US or European manual for the 3D Glasses pheripherial for the Sega Master System?
  14. Hey there guys and gals, I seem to be having some compatibility issues with a dozen or so Sega Master System games that won't load on my EverDrive GBA X5 (using SMSAdvance version 2.5) and I was just wondering if anyone else with an EverDrive GBA X5 could try out the games I'm having issues with to see if it's a universal problem or just something going goofy with my particular EverDrive. Whenever I try to load any of these games all I get is a black screen: After Burner Bank Panic (Europe) Double Dragon Fantasy Zone II Ghouls 'N Ghosts Golden Axe Kenseiden Lord of the Sword OutRun Rampage Rocky Shinobi Thunder Blade Time Soldiers All of my other 200 or so Master System games load just fine, but all I get with the games listed above is a black screen and nothing else. At first I thought maybe I just had a few bad ROM files so I tried different versions of them from three different ROM sets, but no luck. Has anyone else had problems loading those particular Master System games, and if so is there anything in the settings that needs to be tweaked to get them to work?
  15. The Master System library isn't the biggest here in the States, but it sure got a lot of love over in Europe. With that in mind I'm curious what European games the SMS fans here might recommend importing to supplement the US library that play without issue on a US NTSC system or Power Base Converter and 60 Hz CRT TV?
  16. I am currently working on a project to list all the Sega Master system games and the people who created them. I am having trouble finding the developers for the following games and was hoping someone could help me out. I have cross referenced my information with the leading SMS sites and they have either conflicting information or suspect someone else did it. Proof would be awesome if you have it otherwise just your reason why would be great! Great Basketball Klax Montazumas Revenge Ms Pacman PGA Tour Golf The Pro Yakyuu - Pennant Race Sega World Tournament Golf Streets of Rage Submarine Attack Ultima IV Wonder Boy in Monster World World Games
  17. I have figured out a way to use adapters and a powered USB hub to get Sega Master System and Genesis controllers compatible with the Colecovision 2 button games. In the presentation I use the controllers to play Rock 'N Rope, Space Fury, Cosmic Avenger, and HERO. The adapters and cables used are not hard to locate online, so this can be accomplished by anyone who'd want to get their favorite controllers fully compatible. 18. Hey there guys and gals! I'm doing some rearranging of my gaming center and simplifying my Sega setup a bit, and as such I've got some pretty nice stuff for sale! As usual to give you a reference for my reliability as a buyer and seller, you can see all the feedback I've received from selling games and related accessories on eBay over the last half a dozen or so years here: http://www.ebay.com/usr/hanz0d0gYou can also find my AtariAge Marketplace User Feedback thread here: http://atariage.com/forums/topic/254880-jin/ Before we get down to business, here's the usual info: All prices listed below are firm and do not include shipping costs. Shipping costs to anywhere in the United States will be calculated by based on zip code and package size/weight. All items will be shipped via USPS and delivery confirmation will be included so that you can track the package. International shipping is available upon request and will be calculated based on location. Payment is accepted via PayPal only and all sales are on a "first come first serve" basis. In other words, the first person to PM me about an item gets it! There are some things I am willing to accept in trade, and you can find the list of those items below: ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Stuff I'll Trade For Original Game Boy system (near mint condition, no scratches on housing or buttons, both stickers on back fully intact) Lethal Enforcers for Sega Genesis (near mint label) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Now that we've got the formalities out of the way, here's what I have for sale. Sega Accessories Sega Genesis Controller to Master System Adapter This nifty accessory is a custom made adapter cable that lets you use a Genesis controller to play Sega Master System games that normally don't work with a Genesis controller, such as Montezuma's Revenge, Alien Syndrome, Shanghai, etc. It has been tested with both 3-button and 6-button Genesis controllers and works perfectly with both. Price: $8 Books The Legend of Zelda: A Link To The Past & The Four Swords Strategy Guide This may be my longest owned gaming related item. I've had this one on my bookshelf since I bought it new at Borders books when it first came out many long years ago, and it's definitely seen some use. The covers have a good amount of wear but all pages are present an accounted for. Price: $6 Pokémon Black & White 2 Official Pokedex In good shape with only minor wear. All pages are very clean, though the poster that original came with it was lost somewhere along the line. Price: $5 Misc. Goodies More pictures in spoiler tag below! Aliens Versus Predator for Mac OS X Complete in box and never used. The box is in rather rough shape but the disc is still clean and scratch-free. Price: $10 Box and Instruction Manual set for Mortal Kombat on the Sega Genesis In okay shape. The box does have some scratches and the front few pages of the manual are creased. Also included is a small poster advertising upcoming Sega Genesis games. Price: $5 Whew! I think that's everything! Thanks for taking the time to view my sales thread and just shoot me a PM if you're interested in purchasing anything.
