  1. Gone! Thanks for playing~
  2. Heyo! The same company that did the HDMI for Xbox adapter (Pound Technology) is working on a PS1 / PS2 HDMI cable. For whatever reason, it's available for pre-order through Limited Run Games. (Not dogging on them, just seems an odd choice for this type of product.) https://limitedrungames.com/products/pound-technology-ps2-ps1-hdmi-cable Heavy Metal Jesus did a preview of it as well. What little I can see there, I'd gladly use this for a PS1 setup, but I would probably stick to component for PS2. Figured I'd share just in case you missed it during all the Mega Sg hype!
  3. I have a lot of games I'm trying to get rid of so I wanted to offer them here before they end up at the game store. I may entertain cash offers but mostly looking for trades at the moment. Maybe closer to the end of the week for cash. I have my wishlist along with the other stuff in the attached link. Feel free to offer any items that aren't specifically on my wishlist, especially NES/Famicom, SNES, and PS1 games and/or accessories. Action/platformers, puzzle, and horror games are good for me. Send me a PM with any offers, and please get your offers in by Friday around 12:00 noon EST. Edit: Continental US only please https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/134tHlI07W4mDp5KlxVfEpaE6t_-P4xLgUSyQTTnA5sc/edit?usp=sharing
  4. I'd like to pick up some PlayStation games that I missed, but I'm slightly confused as to all the intricacies of backwards compatibility between the generations. I know PS1 games will play on a PS2, so I don't need a PS1. PS2 games will play on certain PS3s - but those command a hefty price premium? PS4s will play PS1 games (from disk? do you have to repurchase them?) - will they play PS2 or PS3 titles? So at a minimum, I need a backwards compatibile PS3 and a PS4 to access the full library, but it may be more cost effective to get a PS2 and a non-compat PS3? Is my knowledge out of date? I have a Trinitron in the basement so I can hook up a PS2 there if need be, but I'd like the keep the number of systems to a minimum.
  5. EDIT - I just increased the font size as I did not realize how tiny the font was yesterday when I copied and pasted the text from Notepad! Also, CIB obviously means Complete In Box, but for other abbreviations R = Rarity, C = Cart, I = Instructions, B = Box and O = Overlay. Post and questions or hold requests in this thread or PM me. I recently began organizing my game collection and taking inventory which resulted in realizing I had much more than I need. Several duplicate items were found which I have decided to list for sale. These will be listed here for a week and then off to eBay with those that do not sell. As prices are listed below, shipping will be actual shipping costs however I will reduce shipping costs by $1 for every $20 spent up to the total of all shipping costs. Ex: purchase $140 and shipping costs will be reduced by $7 up to but not more than free shipping. More may be added later, but these are definitely for sale. PM me with the items you want, first come first serve. Payment through PayPal. Atari 2600 Asteroids Sealed - R1 $7.00 Atari 2600 Asteroids Sealed - R1 $7.00 SOLD - Atari 2600 E.T. 6. Although this is slated for a bigger upcoming project, I figured it would likely be useful in a stand-alone application as well. Since I have a new compact motherboard design that will require an internal mouse interface with the ability to easily switch between joystick ports, and if desired completely disappear (stealth mode), I began work on a new mouse interface chip for the A8. It could have just as easily been used in an Atari ST, or with a bit of code finagling also made to work in an Amiga. Initially I looked at some of the GPL PS/2 mouse-to-ST/Amiga offerings, thinking that I would simply add what code I needed. However once I dived in, I quickly decided this would not be a good way to go, and so began my journey to write mouse code from scratch in my favorite development application FlowCode. Anyway suffice it to say i am probably 85% done, with the last 15% dedicated to supporting mouse movement acceleration (very tricky stuff). So here's a look at how this new mouse chip will be implemented in my new project, along with of course a TK-II keyboard chip (this schematic shows part of the I/O section). Unlike the mouse support that existed on the early versions of TK-II firmware, and then was later abandoned, this one has true ST mouse emulation as its primary goal (plus some enhancements). Yes I know people would love to have a USB mouse instead (as well as a USB keyboard interface), but with all that I have going on I'm afraid this is the best that I can presently do. Especially considering the learning curve required to implement this in USB as well likely needing to switch over to a different processor family to really do it right (yet another learning curve to climb). Besides despite what the rumors would have you believe, there are plenty of NEW PS/2 mice and keyboards still available, as well as some that offer wireless support. And lets face it, PS/2 protocol is a hell of a lot easier to work with. Ohh and did I mention that I get lazy from time to time . Anyway I doubt if I'll be making any PCBs for stand-alone plug-in usage, but if someone is ambitious, I will be providing the PIC MCU Firmware (in JOY2PIC and Microchip file versions). Stay tuned for more info and eventually the firmware release. - Michael

  9. I'm interested in picking up a PS2 console + all necessary hookups + memory card(s) + Dual Shock controller(s) if anyone here has one they're willing to part with. I would prefer the newer slim model. I'm not really sure exactly what a bundle like this would go for pricewise, so feel free to name a price if you're interested in offering one up! I'm thinking somewhere around $45 shipped.
  10. Hey guys, I've got here a nice Colecovision system I was looking to unload. As well as some more atari stuff that I'll post later. I was kind of looking to trade this stuff but i'm also taking offers since I don't have any price for this stuff in mind at the moment. The system works great and comes with all the hook ups necessary to play and 10 games which nearly all of them have amazing labels extremely glossy and in mint condition. (Except for Defender and Q-bert there not as nice!) See the pictures for the game titles! Take a look at the pictures down below here for a better look at what you would be getting. I've kind of been on the prowl lately for some PS2,Gamecube, and Dreamcast games maybe even some original xbox games. I'll post a list of specific titles i'm looking for, for various consoles and then just pm with whatever you got. Anyways here some pictures of the stuff! The system itself: http://i1060.photobu...78/IMG_0394.jpg http://i1060.photobu...78/IMG_0395.jpg http://i1060.photobu...78/IMG_0397.jpg The games! I'm mainly looking for Gamecube,Dreamcast PS2 and Xbox games but i'm open to many other games from other systems! Check out my post on Nintendo Age theres a list of games I want there but again i'm open to more then what I have on my want list! Nintendo Age link: http://nintendoage.c...&threadid=63316

  16. Good afternoon all, I have just picked up an old Phat PS2 PAL model. I am getting disc read errors on PS2 games, PS1 games and audio discs. I did briefly manage to get a PS2 game to load, but it eventually locked up on the title screen when left alone. I know the discs are all fine because I play them on another console that I have. I was just wondering what could be the cause of this and if its not too expensive I may attempt to repair/replace myself. Many thanks for your help!

  19. Ten years ago, I had a decent understanding of emulators and what specs were required to run them. Times have changed and I haven't kept up with new technology very well. So, I'd like to ask for help from some of the current emulator users. I have some consoles I'd like to emulate and I have a few different computers availible, but I'm not sure if any of them can do everything I'm interested in. What I'll do is list the consoles I want to emulate, so you can get an idea of what I'm trying to accomplish. 2600 7800 NES SNES Genesis GBA TG16 PS1 PS2 I know that PS2 is the one that will require the most to run effectively, so if you have a suggestion on what emulator works the best for PS2 and if possible, a rundown of the minimum specs for it, that would be awesome. I have a desktop computer that I'm sure will run any of them, but I'd like to keep it more portable. So, I'm hoping one of my laptops will do the job. I also have a tablet, which I'd love to use, but it's very doubtful it has the muscle to do anything newer than the 16 bit consoles. I don't have the specs for everything availible right now, but If it will help, I can see what they are and post them tomorrow. Thanks in advance for any help. Edit: I just found the specs for what seems to be the most popular PS2 emulator and it's even beyond what my desktop computer could handle. Unless there is one out there that doesn't need as much as PCSx2, I'll just have to forget about emulating anything above PS1. I'd still like recommendations on what people think works the best for the other systems, on Windows and Android. Like I said, I haven't kept up with emulation in a long time, so I'm guessing a lot has changed. Also, I'm fairly new to Android, so I can use all the help I can get if I'm going to try and use my tablet for anything.

  22. Does anybody know how to remove the cable wires from the PCB, and what type of ferrules are used? I am trying to repair a broken, modified DualShock 2 cable. Copper is exposed, very close to the exit from the controller. I work for a rehabilitation engineering company; a long time ago we modified a load of PS2 controllers for use with electric wheelchairs. The wires in the cable are terminated using crimps that fit inside a small block on the PCB. I can see two ways to fix this: 1) Cut the cable just before and after the broken outer sheath, and reattach each wire by splicing 2) Remove the crimps, cut the wire off just after the broken outer sheath, crimp the wires, then put these in the block I would really rather do (2), because (1) means adding heatshrink, which means adding rigidity, and is a point of mechanical weakness. I could probably unlock the ferrules using a knife or a screwdriver, but I want to avoid all risks and would prefer to use a crimp removal tool. My colleagues think the ferrules are soldered into the board, but I'm not sure since this would mean adding a 90 degree bend inside the block. I would be very grateful if anybody could either tell me where I can find this info out? Attached is a picture of the ferrules in the block. Thanks in Advance
  23. I'm in the market for an original PS2 Fat SCPH-50001 to replace my SCPH-30001. I'm not interested in the 30001 or 39001. The fan noise on the 30001 is starting to annoy me, and I heard that the 50001 is quieter. The most important things are that it works as it should (no disc read errors) and that it is in excellent cosmetic condition (no scratches, cracks, or excess dirt). I don't need any controllers or video cables. I'm going to put the 30001's hard drive into it (I have the network card already) that I'm using with Open PS2 Loader. If you have a MC with Free McBoot configured for the 50001 (with Open PS2 Loader), I'll buy that from you too. Please PM if you have one for sale. I also have lots of stuff to trade, if you want to go that route.
