I find it a bit odd that we have a DREAMCAST section for the Classic Consoles Forum, but not a Playstation 1, 2, N64, or hell even the Saturn while we're at it. And especially the XBOX, as well. I can understand the concern of clutter with the sections, that's completely understandable. I'm mostly just curious why these dedicated console sections don't exist for, at the very least, the PS1 and PS2 since those are two of the highest selling consoles of all time with massive fanbases and owners. An original XBOX section would be great as well, given the big homebrew scene and whatnot. I don't know, maybe I'm off-base for asking about this. Sorry if I am; I don't want to cause trouble or anything.

I've got a Dualshock 2 that belonged to my mom way back in the day in my possession. Unfortunately, upon plugging it into my console I realized that the buttons were unresponsive and simply do not work with the exception of Start and Select. The board inside is definitely still working in one form or another, as the analog LED is on when I plug the controller in. But none of the face, trigger, or bumper buttons appear to be working and neither do the analog sticks or D-Pad. I'll post a picture of the insides and the board itself when I get home, but from my recollection everything looks absolutely flawless. I compared the board to a confirmed working controller and wasn't able to discern any physical wear that could indicate circuit failure. I was hoping someone could share some ideas on what I could do to fix it, thanks! Here's an online photo I found of the controller revision I have.

I'd be willing to buy a large lot. Moreso the handhelds, but I have quite a few PS2 games that are disc only as well so some of those would be welcome. Life Line in particular
-
Hi all.. new here! Thanks for having me! I am wondering which is the best budget handheld? Ideally I would love a Steam Deck, but I can't justify that much on a handheld atm. So based on my own research it feels like its between : Anbernic 353M Anbernic RG505 Retroid Pocket 3+ Ayn Odin Pro (what is the difference between base and pro?) I love the look of the 353M, love the dpad swap on the odin, but I just wish the 353M had more RAM and was capable of PS2/GC. Can't figure out why its almost the same price as the much superior (on paper) RG505 either. Anyone know why? Just wish the 505 had the look of the 353. It looks boring IMO and the colour choices are crap. So I think the 353M is only on my list because of high ratings and it looks great, but also the linux option was attractive. But I suppose I need to look at one of the other 3 if I want PS2/GC games but came here for advice. Or maybe you know of a better handheld for that price range? My budget is upto £200/$250 (GBP/USD) require ps2/gc emulation screen larger than 4" would be nice Suggestions welcome! Cheers!

Hi everyone, its finally happened, I'm at the point where I'm ready to start unloading my collection. I wanted to give you guys the good folks at AA first crack at anything you might be interested in. This list contains something like 350 games, so unfortunately I'm going to start if off as a list with no pictures. These games are in various states of conditions, but assume the vast majority of them are working, have been played by me personally, and are usually in PAL UK version where applicable. Some of the older stuff like the master system might be Japanese or US copies, but generally is not an issue. If I own it, I can play it on a European console, as that's my near exclusive limit (outside a neo geo AES - not being sold!). Some are boxed, some are not. Some have instructions, some do not. They are all unsealed, there is no Wata level quality here. I'm a gamer, and these games were played. Please PM for interest in items, I can send prices for those games with images of boxes, manuals and state of disk/cart. Use this topic for general queries. I might be able to do pictures of specific collections of things, but nothing is in an easy to view format right now other than this list. Some things I can do prices now, but the lists are far too big. I'll try and update with time if I can. Hopefully obvious, but my native country is England, United Kingdom, prices will be in GBP £££ but will happily convert to your local currency, and give you potential postage to your country - just let me know where you live! Big orders I will try to do free postage, but all orders will be tracked shipping. If you live in Manchester/Liverpool, Cheshire, Birmingham area, Gloucestershire or Wiltshire we can discuss potential dropping off/meet instead, but note I live in Cheshire. About 6 months ago I started this topic: This was me processing letting go of significant number of games. Soon after I put my house on the market, and bought my next one up. In the process this took a backseat - and initially I had boxed about 100 games I was "ready" in mind to sell. This has now increased to something like 350, including PC games (hence why I'm going to start with lists, then will do pictures as requested). A few other things have happened, the work on the house has cost us considerably more than we planned, and the profit from the first house has already emptied to 0. We also had our car break down on moving day, and this caused issues with our buyers which cost us more money. The car has now fully broken down and we have had to borrow money to buy a 'new' (and by new, I mean 15 year old!) car. This is a bit of a boo-hoo story I know, but it leads to me realising that I have boxes full of cash I just need to get rid of, and I might be able to pay off the debt at least. I would also like to make sure I can manufacture some more Odyssey 1 multicards which I was planning on doing this month, but due to car - needs potentially delaying. Anyway... onto the list. I think there will be another cull at some point, but this is "second wave" culling and includes games like Zelda that I thought I would never get rid of. I've decided to get rid of my entire collection of N64 games, but don't get excited most are unboxed and all are relatively common-uncommon. PC: I need to form a list of PC games but I have already divided some up into prices, these are mostly "big box" games, though a mix of CD and floppy disk. If anyone is interested I'll try and develop a list asap. DOUBLES: These are just doubles I have for sale, I won't be selling any other games for these systems (1st, 2nd and selected 3rd gen consoles) Magnavox Odyssey: Volleyball boxed and complete. I'll take £90 for it as someone on ebay is going for that much. Atari 2600: Would probably sell both these games for a £5 to get rid of it. Both loose. Pac Man (double) Pitfall (double, I don't think this works on all 2600 machines... rubbish label before you ask) Voltmace Database (This is a 1292 alternative system, there is an adapter to use it in more common formats like the acetronic system, but I'm not selling it!): Various games, many boxed with instructions £10 each, 2 loose with instructions, £5 each. Collections being sold off: These are 1st and 2nd wave removals from my collections, other than the N64 which I'm selling fully there may be other games on these systems I'm selling in the future. Stuff like Neo Geo, Atari, Amiga and Philips alongside 32x, Mega CD, 3DO and TG16 etc are currently intending to be kept. NES: Adventures of Bayou Billy, The Bubble Bobble Donkey Kong Double Dragon III - The Sacred Stones Dr. Mario Duck Hunt Excitebike Golf Iron Sword: Wizards and Warriors 2 Jack Nicklaus 18 holes Kickle Cubicle Lemmings Mission: Impossible Pac-Man Super Off Road (Ivan Ironman Stewarts) Super Mario Bros. - Duck Hunt Teenage Mutant Hero Turtles Zelda II - The Adventure of Link Sega Master System: Note some of these are US or Japanese carts, but work on PAL machines too. Six month update! Pictures forthcoming. If you want to inquire about a particular item, I can probably get a picture within a day or two. If you want to make a trade, or take off a large number of lower priced items, I’m far more flexible on prices. I tried to price everything below ebay, but if any prices are way off base (possible!), feel free to let me know, even if you’re not buying. Shipping is from 02141 or 02116. International shipping has gone off the rails, so US is preferred. CIB = Cart, Instructions, Box CIC = CD/card, Instructions, Case Any other extras will be noted. Free with purchase stipulation: minimum purchase is $15 or any 3 items to get a freebie. Starting from August 2022, I'd consider exceptions to that to include any purchases at all or perhaps even just pay shipping. Check my old feedback and new feedback. ************************* **ATARI** ************************* Atari 2600 Pictures for 2600 & 7800 games: https://postimg.cc/gallery/506L48Q I also have some CX40s available for cheap or free with purchase. Since there wasn't a forum for PS2, I just dropped this here. In my latest episode Larry and I discuss an instant classic with Road Rage. What was your opinion of this game? A Crazy Taxi ripoff? Or does it stand on it's own?

Up for sale is a good condition Playstation PS2. Was owned by my Niece but just kept in dry storage for the past 15 years. All the hookups plus eight games as pictured are included along with two original PS2 Dualshock 2 controllers. Both seem to work fine - unit booted first time on several discs with no struggles to load. The memory card has been blanked and is ready for use (I'll put the memory card inside the Spiro case where it fits). Smoke free and nothing here looks overly worn. For US$50 plus large-box flat-rate shipping to anywhere in the US for $22.65 via Paypal. I've got 1000+ all-positive seller feedback on eBay ('meeplemaster') and have been a non-trouble-maker here on AA for 20 years (though I'm generally fairly quiet).

I have a co-worker who recently took in several foster children. They had known the family and the kids knew who they were, the parents had overdosed several times and lost their kids for the foreseeable future. I talk about games frequently at work though most ignore me. They are more into hunting, fishing, and trucks. This day however, my co-worker asked me where to buy PS2 games for a 9 and 11 year old. Turns out he has a nearly new PS2 he hasn't used in years he wanted to hook up for the foster kids for christmas. He doesn't have any games though. We also have the same low paying job and I know they don't have much for christmas for those kids. I really didn't have good answer for him to start with. Heck even 360 is slim pickings at Gamestop around here now that the generation has rotated out. A generation before that? Ebay and Amazon but trying to explain how to setup accounts and go about finding cheap deals, let alone pick stuff out to someone that never has? I knew I had boxes of PS2 stuff put away and doubles of many games. Plus I know I had some kids games I had kept that my own kids had played. I dug out several boxes at home and came up with a Christmas donation for him. I had more but they weren't as nice, missing cases or discs were questionable. I wasn't going to do GTA as a free donation but that was the only game the oldest kid had specifically asked for. As for content, these kids saw magnitudes worse in real life than what an old GTA has in it. A racing game, several cartoon platformers, superheroes, an army shooter, GTA, a cross section of genres. The way my co-workers face lit up when receiving them makes me think he might enjoy these with the kids too. So its no PS5 or anything new but it's nice they'll have some fun stuff to play on Christmas morning now.

Check out this music video I made combining the PS2 game Big Mutha Truckers with the song Driving My Life Away by Rhett Akins. The song actually came from a movie called Black Dog, which was about semis. I think it was one of Patrick Swayze's most under-rated films. Let me know what you think.

Rambling about PS1/PS2 bootdiscs, HDD backups, Cheat Devices etc ALSO some talk about Game Genie and some cool NES random codes I made ?? This is me rambling on for 30 minutes incoherently about PlayStation boot discs, cheat devices etc.?It was a totally unexpected spur of the moment video that I probably should not have made public, but I figure it also serves the purpose letting my YouTube subscribers know that I’m still alive.? I am sure much of the info is wrong or at least some details are off but I invite anyone who knows better to comment and add to the conversation, thanks. ?? I am looking to purchase a PS2. One controller would be just fine. It would be nice if it comes with a memory card, but not totally necessary. Drop me a line. Thank you.

Cyberball 2072 by Atari from 1989 on the Midway Arcade Classics 2 collection for PS2. I like how there are so many plays but just 1 action button, that's classic Atari but this was a later arcade game. Great music and gameplay in this one.

??Well, that is just awesome, a while ago I read in a Silent Hill Facebook Group post someone asked about replaying Silent Hill 2, I have only played it originally on the PS2, someone mentioned to be sure to play the version that has the Maria sub scenario “Born From a Wish” and amazingly I never have! ? I loaded it up from the extended PS2 edition in PCSX2 emulator, looks and plays great, never thought I would be playing and experiencing anything Silent Hill 2 related that was new to me. LOVING THIS! The best part is in emulation I can far higher resolutions than the PS2 could ever run natively, works perfectly with my wireless Xbox 360 gamepad (like movement, drawing firing weapon, run, look etc were instantly configured!) and unlike some older PC ports of some PS2 games there is no issues with compatibility or requirements with newer versions of Windows.

Although this is slated for a bigger upcoming project, I figured it would likely be useful in a stand-alone application as well. Since I have a new compact motherboard design that will require an internal mouse interface with the ability to easily switch between joystick ports, and if desired completely disappear (stealth mode), I began work on a new mouse interface chip for the A8. It could have just as easily been used in an Atari ST, or with a bit of code finagling also made to work in an Amiga. Initially I looked at some of the GPL PS/2 mouse-to-ST/Amiga offerings, thinking that I would simply add what code I needed. However once I dived in, I quickly decided this would not be a good way to go, and so began my journey to write mouse code from scratch in my favorite development application FlowCode. Anyway suffice it to say i am probably 85% done, with the last 15% dedicated to supporting mouse movement acceleration (very tricky stuff). So here's a look at how this new mouse chip will be implemented in my new project, along with of course a TK-II keyboard chip (this schematic shows part of the I/O section). Unlike the mouse support that existed on the early versions of TK-II firmware, and then was later abandoned, this one has true ST mouse emulation as its primary goal (plus some enhancements). Yes I know people would love to have a USB mouse instead (as well as a USB keyboard interface), but with all that I have going on I'm afraid this is the best that I can presently do. Especially considering the learning curve required to implement this in USB as well likely needing to switch over to a different processor family to really do it right (yet another learning curve to climb). Besides despite what the rumors would have you believe, there are plenty of NEW PS/2 mice and keyboards still available, as well as some that offer wireless support. And lets face it, PS/2 protocol is a hell of a lot easier to work with. Ohh and did I mention that I get lazy from time to time . Anyway I doubt if I'll be making any PCBs for stand-alone plug-in usage, but if someone is ambitious, I will be providing the PIC MCU Firmware (in JOY2PIC and Microchip file versions). Stay tuned for more info and eventually the firmware release. - Michael

In this video I play a great arcade port of Phoenix on the Taito Legends collection for PS2. Phoenix is one of the more difficult old school arcade space shooters and is definitely the noisiest. In this footage I manage to score an quick 200 thousand, although it wasn't exactly easy.

Hi, I am looking to buy a potential prototype build of Spyro: Enter the Dragonfly, or any pre release materials anyone might have. Does anyone know any info on where I could find a build of this game, or someone who has PS2 prototypes in general? Thank you!!!
