Hi All, The UnoCart is my latest multi-cart design for the Atari XL & XE. Its basically the little-brother of the Ultimate Cart (using a cheap microcontroller) and you can read about its development here. The UnoCart cartridge uses a micro SD card for storage, so you can reprogram it simply by copying new files onto the SD card from your PC/Mac. Like the Ultimate Cart, the UnoCart can emulate a wide range of cartridges and it also launches XEX files. However it is limited to 128k cartridge and XEX files, rather than the 1024k limit of the Ultimate cart. Most importantly, this means it does not emulate 8mbit Atarimax cartridges - so you still need an Ultimate Cart for that. However, it does have a couple of other features not present in the Ultimate Cart: - Fast search of all directories on the SD card, including partial matches (so you can search for "dig" and it will find "Mr Dig.XEX" and "Dig Dug.ROM"). - Limited support for ATR files (including the 16Meg ATR game compilations) with read and write support. There is also a review video from ndary below showing some of the features: Note there are a couple of inaccuracies in the video- it uses micro SD cards (not micro sims) and it does NOT actually support AtariMax 8mbit ROMs. You can read about the full set of features in the PDF manual available on the project website. The shell is a cheap 3d printed design which is mainly intended to keep the PCB safe and allow it to be inserted in an XL. It is not a proper Atari cartridge shell. The firmware is open source, and was written by myself and flashjazzcat, and we are planning to make a few cartridges available for sale. If you'd like an UnoCart, please reply to this thread (please don't ask for more than 2 cartridges). The price is £40 cased or £35 uncased + £3 P&P. There will be 14 cartridges available initially. I've got 5 ready to post out, so the first 5 will be dispatched immediately. Flashjazzcat is going to make a further 9, but these won't be ready for 2-3 weeks. For those that miss out, or prefer to DIY, there will be a construction article in Excel magazine issue #4, involving only a small amount of through-hole soldering and a readily available development board. Hi All, As some of you may have noticed, I've been writing a series of DIY Atari 8-bit hardware articles for Excel magazine. For Issue #4 (due soon) I've contributed articles on both the Pixels Past 8k and 16k EPROM based cartridges, and also building instructions for my own latest design, the UnoCart. Building your own UnoCart is not massively difficult and involves just a small amount of easy (thru-hole) soldering. The key item is a STM32F407 Discovery board, which is readily available from most electronics suppliers for <£20. Using an off the shelf arduino-like board avoids almost all of the difficult soldering. The only hard to get item is a Atari cartridge breakout board (pictured). The article describes how you can get these made from the provided files yourself from a PCB manufacturer (a batch of 10 can be obtained for not much more than £10 from the cheap chinese suppliers), but I thought it would be easier if I offered some spare ones here. These are suitable for XL/XE machines. So, if anybody is planning to work through the project in Excel magazine (and wants to get ready in advance), then I've got about 8 cartridge breakout boards spare and available for £3 + P&P. Please reply here if you want one. Can I ask that anybody asking for a board confirms they have already reserved their copy of issue #4 of Excel magazine, since I'd prefer these boards to go to readers of the magazine. Robin

Hi I want to add some time to the legends flashback and I've got a few questions. I don't have a pc but my roms are on an android tablet. So, can I use a 16gb SD card in the tablet and then use the adapter that comes with the card to put it into the console? What systems can I add tons from and what are the required extensions? Thanks

Okay I bought a sd card with a bunch of Atari games. Then I see the file here for free. No big deal. The guy has a sd card to buy, shopping and from what I read he had to remove all the spaces in the file names to make the games work. Whatever, here is my $17. I get the sd card most of the games dont work. I have to rename the files. He didnt even tell me this is how you fix it. I had to read it here! So whatever, now I'm looking for the software name of the program that will take the spaces out of the file name all at one time. Do not buy from beau32.

I have looked all over, and not found a list of verified compatible SD and CF media for Ultimate Cart (SD) and Incognito/SIDE (CF). Is there such a list? If not, let's start one here. For example, I am using red & blue style Sandisk 4GB SD card and 1GB CF. They work well, but the CF is getting full and I want to know what to buy to replace it with a larger one. Also, in the Ultimate SD cart thread, a Toshiba FlashAir SD card was mentioned. I found both W-02 and W-03 versions of this available. I ordered the W-03 version in hopes that it will work. The thread didn't mention what version it was that is known to work, although the link pointed to a W-03, so I'm hoping I don't get burned again. So, the question is: What media do YOU use? And, just as important: What media is to be avoided? Thanks in advance. -
I'm thinking of getting a Toshiba FlashAir W-04 32 GB SDHC Class 10 Memory Card. I tried looking for a 8gig one but it was 3 times more expensive and an older version as well. Will this one work with the harmony/harmony encore?

Hello all, hoping someone here can give me a bit of advice regarding SD card/compact flash cartridge solutions for an Atari 400 - after years (ok, decades) of wanting to play Lucasarts and Llamasoft games on an Atari 8-bit I finally got hold of an Atari 400. Only to find the membrane keyboard had started to die so I couldn't hold down Start when turning on to load from tape. Got that replaced with a new one from Best Electronics (and in the process also discovered it had had a memory upgrade so it's a bit more capable than a stock one) but still having a fair bit of trouble as need to replace the belts in my xc12 and a spring in my 410p. Just about able to get *some* things loaded on the 410 but it's very hit and miss so think what I could really do with is a cartridge solution to load from disk/tape/cartridge images instead. So, what would you recommend for an Atari 400 (with memory upgrade)? I know the atarimax myide2 isn't an option as borrowed one from a friend, only to find it's XL/XE only. I've seen sd2sio and sdrivemax doohickeys going on eBay but would really rather a cartridge solution instead, does such a thing exist or are they all only for XL/XE systems?

I have been trying to get my new Dreamcast SD card adapter working on my Dreamcast for a few days now with no luck. I have tried formatting a test 2GB card as well as a 16GB card in FAT, FAT16, and FAT32 formats, and the system recognizes none of them. I am using the latest version of Dreamshell for this. I was sure to put the contents of the included DS folder in the SD card, and whenever I go to the ISO loader, the SD option is always grayed out. I did notice that the LED on the adapter turns on dimly when the system is booting up, and then turns on bright when the first splash screen for DS shows up, and then turns off when the black splash screen appears, and never turns back on again. Is there something else I should be doing here?
