  1. Will there be Super Charger support in the future? I want to play some good old cassette based games.
  2. I found a few sets of burned CDs for use with original Cuttle Cart or Supercharger in a box of stuff that I recently inherited. PM me if you are interested. Kevin
  3. As revealed in the latest @ZeroPage Homebrew show the Starpath/Arcadia SuperCharger is now supported by the PlusStore. The "SuperCharger" folder in PlusStore is shared with all users, so users can now use their smartphone (or any other device with a browser and an audio jack) to load the games via the nextcloud music player app. A PlusStore account (not a PlusCart) is necessary to use the player (Registering a PlusStore account is free). @Prizrak and I uploaded the "Stella gets a new Brain" CD rips and all SuperCharger hacks done by @Nukey Shay to the new PlusStore folder "SuperCharger". This was a lot of work, since all the hacks were bin files and had to be converted with makewav to an audio format and none of the rips and hacks had any useful ID3 tags or cover images. We mostly used @Rom Hunter's database at atarimania.com for the ID3 information and the covers. Some of the information is from the AtariAge Rarity Guide. To organize the album view of the player in a useful way we had to store the game name in the "Artist" ID3 tag and the programmer in the "Album" tag. A new feature is that all new homebrews of 4K and below will be automatically converted to the WAV format and appear in the music player to test with the SuperCharger (currently in the "ZZ_Generated" folder under "Unknown Artist"). PlusStore users that are using the nextcloud/WebDAV client to sync the PlusStore to a local folder and don't have a SuperCharger might unshare the folder if they want to save the 200 MB additional space needed locally. Before using the music player the first time you should set the folder for the library to "/SuperCharger/" here (so scanning will be faster): initially you have to scan the folder:
  4. I purchased this for my museum project, but I've since acquired an open copy. I'd much rather display the open copy as I can show off the numbered disc, So I am selling the sealed copy shown here. More pictures are in my attachments and I can take others upon request. You get the unopened CD and the manual. The sign is not included. Selling here because I'd rather it go to a collector.
  5. Disk Extended SuperCharger BASIC ----------------------------------------- Adding DOS commands to BASIC on the Atari 2600! How it works: ---------------- Disk Extended SuperCharger BASIC turns an ordinary cassette deck into an indexed filesystem with a directory structure for the Atari 2600 much like the ADAM Home Computers indexed Tape Drive advanced design. For full support, an auto-flipping Tape deck or an endless loop tape like this one can be used to make a regular cassette player function as a slow disk drive like the Commodore 1541. Or the player can manually rewind an ordinary tape to the beginning and keep pressing play, which can also be fun Ultra fast SuperCharger DOS - Fast Loader options ----------------------------------------------------------- The SuperCharger cart features built-in fast loading technology similar to Epyx fast loader and the ADAM high speed Tape drive in functionality, the buad rate can be increased to make SuperCharger DOS load faster. With Flashcarts and Emulators the SuperCharger Indexed File System can run lightning fast - many times faster than even the fastest Apple II disk drive! SuperCharger Disk Extended BASIC Backward Compatibility: ----------------------------------------------------------------------- 100% Backward compatible with SuperCharger vwBASIC, and cross compatible with Flashback BASIC (CBS RAM). Atari 2600 platform compatibility --------------------------------------- SuperCharger Disk Extended BASIC runs on classic Atari 2600 hardware with a SuperCharger and via any multicart that supports the SuperCharger format (such as the Harmony/Encore UnoCart and PlusCart) and all emulators. Performance: --------------------- Performance can vary depending upon the emulator or flashcart being used because some also emulate wait time via the loading bars. For best performance loading bars should be avoided by flashcarts or minimized to eliminate the wait time allowing the SuperCharger FS to load faster (this will emulate the Epyx Fast Loader effect like Harmony is currently doing). Variable Sharing: --------------------- BASIC variables are shared between programs. Capacity (Floppy Disk size): ------------------------------- The PlusCart and UnoCart support a very large capacity - large supercharger Disk Extended BASIC games can have 256 directory entries, for a 2 MB Atari 2600 game! Harmony currently is limited to four directory entries but I will send batari my samples and beta so we can increase the number of entries - Even older edition Harmony carts like mine from 2011 may be able to support 30 directory entries in the SuperCharger FS, and the newer Harmonies and Encores can support even more. A good analogy is that the 2011 Harmony is expandable to have a bit more capacity than an original C64 5 1/4 inch floppy. The newer models have the Capacity of a 720K 3.5 " floppy disk and the later models and the Uno and Plus have SuperCharger disk capacity of a 1.44 MB floppy. Programmers may wish to take into account the varying SuperCharger "disk size" capacities of the multicarts when creating large SuperCharger Disk BASIC games so that the games can run on them all. Availability: -------------- SuperCharger_Disk_BASIC.zip Disk Extended SuperCharger BASIC is currently in Beta will be available free for download soon on the SuperCharger BASIC site Commodore 64 Compatibility: ------------------------------------ SuperCharger BASIC is cross compatible with the Commodore 64 home computer via Game Loader Atari emulation: Game_Loader_Commodore_64_Atari_2600_Emulator_WhitePaper.pdf UPDATE SuperCharger BASIC for the Commodore 64 home computer now available featuring an Atari 2600 emulator in the runtime! commodore.zip More details in this post The SuperCharger can now be used as a C64 development workstation and vice versa.

  7. This is my current Supercharger “playlist” in mp3 format. (99 tracks to make an audio cd) They were converted with this command line: makewav -d3 -f0 -h2 -k2 -ts g.bin (where g is name of game) Merry Christmas! Supercharger 99.7z
  8. Hi, i found myself a starpath supercharger yesterday for 50 euro but i noticed a jack 3.5 was missing and instead a tulip cable was attached. I am a noob with these kind of electronics but i didn't wat to leave it with the seller because you see Them much in the Netherlands, not even in your hometown. The seller didn't knew what is was or how It worked, Just a.young fellow who bought himself a.bunch of Nintendo stuff with this piece of artwork included. Before i decide to replace it with some sort of original cable, anyone knows why this could be hooked up like this? The SC self seems to work but do not have games yet so cannot test it yet. Cheers StormyWeathers
  9. I mostly play my Atari games on Stella with by Hyperkin Trooper, or on Harmony Cartridge on the 1981 console I've had for 40 years, but I have a modest physical collection that makes me happy to have. And this is how I organize my digital collection...
  10. SuperBlitz with throttle control This enhanced military sim now let's you control the illusion! Featuring an improved Martial soundtrack, lighting strikes and Anti Aircraft missile systems. SuperBlitz is a rewrite of my 80's SuperBlitz port of Blitz that was sold on Disk and Tape and later a magazine type-in, the full history is in this thread: 10 Line Blitz is a new Atari game for the SuperCharger with many enhancements over 9 Line Blitz! ? Features: Algorithmic Music Composition - Changing musical scores and sound Fx, interactive and computer generated during gameplay. 11. After years of idly wondering where it had gone, I found a very special CD in a box of junk in my garage.
  12. I Notice that the Coleco KIDVID has communication between the console and the custom Tape player. That is, the Tape sends a tone which tells the console which of the 3 games on the cartridge to make active, and conversly, the console turns the tape player on and off, as needed. Tone is about 1Khz if I recall. That being the case, could the technology( needs custom cartridge) be used , like Starpath's supercharger, and some others, as a means to load original Roms via makewav bin files? Needs reverse engineering of the Smurfs Save the day cartridge. Mark
  13. EDIT: BREAKOUT 2000 SEQUEL RELEASED! Download the sequel for the SuperCharger from the Atari 2600 forum thread BREAKOUT 2002 LASERBEAMS NTSC Improvements: More action, a score, a level indicator and a goal - make it to the playable treasure room ending scene on level 10! For Zero or more Players! CPU plays both characters, players can join in any time! Camera follows the Ball and only the Ball has Laserbeams, the Atari Logo is much harder to play, like Tails. Characters can perform a forward roll through any contiguous line of bricks, also influenced by the Sonic series. LASERBEAMS controls are reversed, button conserves the Laser because who doesn't want to use it all the time? ? The Logo can only be Killed with a Direct Hit, similarly a glancing blow from the Logo is non-fatal; it must nail the Ball head on. Additional cool game tunes and musical effects, I'm planning to post the BASIC source code on the programming forum to share the techniques. Have fun, have a ball! Comments and questions welcome! Older version below with support for the Flashback Portable, haven't recompiled a version of the new one yet. 14. EDIT: New Edition 11/13/2019 - BREAKOUT 2002 LASERBEAMS NTSC R2 Added color cycling to the ball for lazy sideways rotation to complement the fast foward rotation. tuned the AI generated boards, added an extra startup board design bugfix: Arpeggio corrected as per the Fx discusison thread on the programming forum, the first note was off. BREAKOUT2002_LASERBEAMS_NTSC_R2.bin BREAKOUT2002_LASERBEAMS_NTSC_R2.wav ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ EDIT: New Edition - BREAKOUT 2002 LASERBEAMS Gameplay variation - Button reversed; conserves the Laserbeams which run out before the end of each level. EDIT: New edition - BREAKOUT2002 NTSC BREAKOUT2002_LASERBEAMS_NTSC.bin BREAKOUT2002_LASERBEAMS_NTSC.wav This NTSC-only version is optimized for flicker on the edge of perception - every element is balanced and the color palette is tweaked with wavelengths optimized for stability. I would like to add a version optimized for PAL260 if I can get help tuning it for the better greens PAL can display [this game is heavy on the green shades where PAL has more potential] , I'm not sure how to approach optimizations for SECAM or if it's possible given the requirements for the Fx. Try it out! Play the game and you will see some rows of bricks are incredibly solid while others waver on the verge of perception shimmering slightly. BREAKOUT 2002 Party Games Manual.pdf Playing on the real hardware: Best results are achived with a real CRT and a classic console without a video mod using the SuperCharger, which doesn't need a video mod the way a multi-cart system does. Playing on the Retron77 console: This game looks excellent on the Hyperkin Retron77 with HDMI over LCD or Plasma as well, and the game is an upgrade to the earlier Hyperkin release BREAKOUT 2000! Playing in the emulator: BREAKOUT2002 NTSC is solid in the emulator too testing with Z26 and and an older version of Stella, but you must play in full screen mode or cross-flicker from mixed refresh rates will occur degrade the gameplay experience. BREAKOUT 2002 a colorful mesmerizing party game for the Atari 2600 with a quest mode, multiple boards and color schemes. Can anyone make it to level 10 to beat the game? BREAKOUT studies The manual features BREAKOUT stories and studies spanning five flavors of BREAKOUT and the science behind the audio visuals in the game. To create a printed manual, use one double sided piece of paper and fold it in half, creating a four page manual. Have fun!
  15. BERZERK2000 new SuperCharger game comming soon! Description: BERZERK2000 is not a direct port of BERZERK but rather an inspired interpretation of the genre featuring a dayglow panoramic arena with awsome pixel art animation from Pacman Red! Gameplay: BERZERK2000 is simple to play but difficult to master with surprising and intriguing elements to the fun! Special Weapons: This game gives you Special Weapons with reflecting 8-way shots like in Discs of Tron or Mr Do that will sometimes also bend physics behaving more like Captain America's sheild - your shots can get stuck in walls, make it through walls, explode in a scatter pattern when enemies are struck and/or deflect and continue to do damage. Be careful though, the enemies have these weapons too: Availability: BERZERK 2000 will be part of an exclusive world-wide release in 2020 SuperCharger preview of BERZERK2000 loading from tape:
  16. I have 3 Atari 2600 Supercharger tape game manuals for sale. The titles are "Killer Satellites", "Dragonstomper", and "Suicide Mission". Condition varies, so please see photos. Killer Satellites has a tiny discoloration. Suicide Mission has some creasing and a tiny tear or two on the front cover. Shipping within the continental US is $3.66. I'm asking $13 for the lot including the shipping charge, but I'm open to reasonable offers. Hoping to get these to someone who will appreciate them.

  18. In my 40th episode I discuss the Starcharger and its games. I never had this as a kid, nor did any of my friends have it. Honestly, I just heard of it not too long ago! Did any of you have it? Had it? Or have played it? Did it work like it claimed? I'd like to hear about it. Also, I'd like to thank everyone for the views, the likes, the suggestions, the criticisms, and subscribing. I've had a lot of fun doing this. Someday I hope to achieve legendary status like James Rolfe and John Hancock. But until then, thanks for viewing.
  19. GATECRASHER II features several extended soundtracks that blend with escalating gameplay. These games achieve a sound that is different using algorithmic filters on a tracker/sequencer; the original unfiltered output is played during the cut scenes.
