  1. I've decided to try to collect all atari pong systems before the new decade but I don't have a good idea on the prices of each system. So if anyone can give me a price guide (and some tips) that would be awesome. Thanks in advance.
  2. Hello, I am a new collector for Atari 2600 I love the history and innovation that occurred during the run of the console. I also love that there is a vibrant community and homebrew scene that is still contributing to the platform. I have not been collecting as long as most collectors so there are many things that you might know or tips that may come in handy to new collectors. What tips would you have liked to have had and what tips would you give to new collectors. What practices or items helped you what do you think would help others? Thank you. EDIT: I play every game I collect, playing the games is an important part of my collection.
  3. Hey, I was playing a rom of dragonfire on this site: http://www.2600online.com/ And noticed a few things. Fireballs don't register as hitting the player if he just has the corner of his foot covered by the tower on the bridge when facing left, and won't register when body is partially covered while facing right, The Dragons in the castle can't, or rarely are able to hit you if you run to the farthest end of the left side of the screen in the first 3 stages. Is this just a (rom) thing? Could be useful if not. Thanks for reading, -Justin
  4. Not sure if this belongs in Modern gaming or not but some nice ideas for gamers: http://www.gamesradar.com/13-life-hacks-gamers/ The banana hook for headphones is pretty good and I never thought about toilet paper tubes for cords. I use Altoid cans to keep my loose memory cards and USB sticks. If anyone cares to pitch in there own tips.....
  5. I've seen various discussions around here on what I think might be talking about programming for cartridges, but I don't really know much about it at all. Due to this, a lot of it goes over my head somewhat and I am lost under a lot of acronyms. I am considering programming for cartridges and need to know the differences between the different cartridge types and what my limitations would be. Is it quick/slow to swap a bank of memory? Is it different between the different cartridge types? What are the rough costs of each cartridge type? Is there a guide anywhere that could help me with this? Or perhaps stick to disk programming???
  6. Publisher Collection Completion Show and Tell + Tips. Like many new collectors who come to the Atari 2600 getting a new fully complete collection in 2018 is a nearly impossible task. However getting a subset collection is a doable feat. Do any of you have a complete collection of any given publisher, Activision, Atari, Coleco, Sega, Imagic, Konami, Mattel, CBS, Fox, M-Network, ect? Does anyone have any advice or any publishers that may be an easy goal? Also if you want to show off a complete collection feel free to show it below. If you have a collection goal other than a complete Publisher collection what subset are you perusing? Feel free to give any advice or tips / tricks you found along the way.
