  3. I just filed my taxes, and anticipate getting a Wii U with my refund. I do not have internet at my house. I do have a friend with a stable wifi, but he has two toddlers who are very curious! So what happens if I just try to run the console right out of the box without an update? Thanks.
  4. What's your favorite Skylander? Mine has got to be Voodood because of his power and strength luv this game
  5. Today I just want to ask what everyone's favorite game of 2015 was. It can be a next gen console game, Steam game, homebrew title, or anything else you can think of. My favorite was Undertale (on Steam). It's a retro styled RPG that does it all: it's original, difficult but not too hard, has amazing replay value, hilarious, has a deep story, amazing music (you telling me you haven't seen the million hopes and dreams remixes on youtube), and best of all is only $10! Rant away!
  6. First let me apologize. I wasn't sure which forum would be the best fit for this. I am researching how to pair my Wii remotes with my PC specifically for use with emulators. I'm shopping for a Bluetooth adapter, and have found information about using software called "GlovePie" to configure the classic controller. Before I do any of that, I wanted to check in to see if anyone here is using a Wii remote/classic controller with their emulators. If you are, I'd like to know what software you are using and what version of Bluetooth your adapter is. Thanks!
  7. http://youtu.be/Hl968nZTcYM The Nintendo Wii may have seen its share of crappy shovelware games, but buried beneath all that are some truly fun Hidden Gems for game collectors. If you are looking for some new Wii games, here are some I recommend! Games Shown: de Blob Sin & Punishment: Star Successor Zack & Wiki Quest for Barbaros' Treasure Cursed Mountain Disney Guilty Party Overlord: Dark Legend Speed Racer No More Heroes 1 & 2 Question: What piece of Wii hardware or accessory do you think will be rare or valuable in the future?
  8. should i rely on the wiishop channel for nintendo and sega games or should i hold on to the master system and nes? will we always have the wii store to buy games? i perfer actual cartridges/discs so i know i have the game. this question is the reason i dont play games on pc
  9. Up for sale is a similar kit like I have been selling for the xbox1 but for the Wii, you get the Super Smash Brothers Game Disc, a great game by itself, TWO SD cards, one is a 1GB or 2GB card with the smash stack exploit, you also get an 8GB SD card with the Home Brew Chanel w/ Apps & Emulators and Roms. I will also assit you with the soft-mod and install process as it can be tricky. I found the youtube video for it that is currently up to be very UNhelpful on a key step in the process. cost for this kit is $35+shipping. [$45 if you want a 16GB SD card with even more roms and emus added] it will be in stock next week. I will post more details in this thread soon, I just wanted folks to be aware it was coming, the cost for JUST the Wii game on ebay these days is around $20-$25 shipped on average, you get the full package all set up for you, no searching, no bull. This will work on ANY Wii as Nintendo can not patch for this exploit, it is the best one for any Wii, in fact the instructions I give are to update your Wii before you do anything else. I will walk you through how to perform the soft-mod, install Boot-Mii, then HBC in that order so you can recover from a brick if it should happen. some Wiis will not let you install BootMii first, but all that will be covered in the tutorial I am putting together [you will either get SD or a MicroSD cards with adaptor, all depends on stock on hand] I will discount orders for those who supply their own SD cards, you need a small one to do the exploit with and the larger to use once HBC is installed. If you already have the game Super Smash Brothers for Wii, I can point you in the right direction to do it yourself or you can buy just the SD cards at a reduced rate. stay tuned for updates on this next week
  10. I've decided to sell a few things of mine in hopes that I can get some other items for my collection. I could take them to eBay but after the fees and the hassle it almost doesn't seem worth it. And also note that all prices include shipping, and are negotiable, espeically if you buy multiple things. Anyway, here is what I'm selling. Sparkster SNES: Cart only unfortunately but its in great shape. I've had many hours of fun on this game. Asking $35 shipped for this. Metroid Prime Trilogy Wii: This comes complete. Has everything, tin case, slipcover, manual and black fold out insert. Oh, and of course the disc. The disc is nice, the manual shows little wear, the black fold out insert has a small tear because of a sticker that was on it, the case has 2 small dents as well. One on the top, and a rather small one on the front in the top right. They aren't extremely noticeable by any means but they are there. Also the top clip on the case doesn't close. The bottom one does, but the top does not. The slip cover is pretty good as well. Has some slight wear from just being used. I'm asking $65 shipped on this one. Windwaker Box: Basically mint. Has a gamestop sticker on the front of it but it is on the plastic and not the insert so it will come off very easily. No manual with this one unfortunately. But like I said its in great shape. Asking $20 shipped. Ocarina of Time/Master Quest Box and Manual: Both in very nice condition. Has the manual and the case both and like I said, in very nice condition. Asking $18 shipped on this. Super Mario Sunshine Box and Manual: The box is in nice shape and so is the manual. But, the manual has the name "Adam" printed on it. Somebody tried taking it off and has ripped part of the manual under the label. For the most part it can probably be salvaged, but it does have that flaw. Asking $15 shipped. So that is everything, like I said the prices include shipping and are negotiable, especially if you buy more than one item. I have done a few deals here on AtariAge before. Check with IntellivisionDude, Kefka14, boxpressed, and so on. Also you can check my eBay account for 100% positive feedback there as well, the name is dvskingcobra460. So thanks if you are interested in anything, please message me! -------------------------

  12. As I realize I have less and less space to house stuff i'm really keeping the best titles and moving more towards SD carts. I also may have to slim down a few systems but may want to play those games still and explore other retro systems I probably won't find in the wild. I have more or less narrowed down my choices to the original Xbox and Wii to use as an emulator box; and I was wondering which you all thought would be better to use as an emulation machine. Here is my reasoning for avoiding other options: -PC/Raspberry Pi: Probably better I realize but I want to use a console for convenience and aesthetics. -Gamecube/PS2-Could be done but seems to make more sense to do an xbox or a wii for various reasons -Dreamcast- Underpowered for emulation purposes of later systems -Xbox360/PS3- Have a PS3 fatty but don't want to void warranty/updates, online features, etc. just yet. I am at this time leaning towards the Xbox because of the MAME capabilities and the fact that the internal hard-drive can be upgraded whereas using a Wii i'd have to burn discs or have an external hard drive connected via a USB (the speed worries me for that option.) I know you can do the home brew channel on the Wii mode on your Wii U, but assume you couldn't access the external hard drive formatted for the Wii U via that channel, creating its own issues. Can anyone speak to that and/or if you are able to partition it? Let me know what you think and if I missed any consoles/options I should be considering! I definitely want to use a CONSOLE though. Thanks!

  14. Hey all! I'm clearing out years of stockpiled E3 swag, promotional items, one offs and various weirdness! The link below goes to my eBay page. I've been trying to sell on there for a few weeks and some of the bigger named items have gone, but I think your average eBay user knows very little about gaming, especially gaming memorabilia. I want this stuff to go to people that'll appreciate it! I know some of the people buying have just been resellers and that's lame. Hope you guys can find stuff you're interested in! I'm putting up new stuff every weekend when I have free time, so there's more to come! http://rover.ebay.com/rover/1/711-53200-19255-0/1?ff3=4&pub=5574883395&toolid=10001&campid=5336500554&customid=&mpre=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com%2Fsch%2Fproducerethan%2Fm.html%3F_nkw%3D%26_armrs%3D1%26_ipg%3D%26_from%3D

If you are looking for some new Wii games, here are some I recommend! What games would you like to see in Part 2 & 3?
  16. Well, I've been dreading the day but it looks like fate, or at best time, has finally caught up to me and my poor launch-day Wii. So I've been playing a great deal of Zelda: Skyward Sword since I got it (Christmas gift), and I'm loving it. But tonight offered me no joy. Fired up the system, booted the game, and I'm greeted with a sky full of clouds and little red, green, and blue dots flickering everywhere. I've known that some of the launch Wiis have occasionally had an issue with their GPU slowly giving up the ghost, and it usually manifests itself in this fashion. So I guess that means giving Nintendo a ring and sending her off to get fixed, or else put out to pasture and having them send me a replacement. So I thought I'd pop on here before I initiate that wonderful tech support call and see what others' experience has been if you've had to send a Wii off to the Big N for a quick tune-up. Specifically, I've got a few Virtual Console and Wii Ware titles I've downloaded over time, as well as a few game saves that I cannot transfer (the games go online, and thus the ability to copy or move to an SD card has been disabled). So I'm hoping that if a replacement is necessary that Nintendo will be able to transfer all my stuff over to the replacement console for me so I won't have to worry with all that stuff once it comes back. Can anyone confirm they will do this before I call, just so I'll know what to expect?
  17. I was very happy to received 007 for the Wii this Christmas. While I am quite interested in this game, I am experiencing some issues with wierd controllers. For controllers, I have the traditional Wiimote and Nunchuk setup, and a bootleg Chinese 3rd party Classic Controller. Now, the issue that I have using the Wiimote is that it also serves as the second analog, so to speak. So if I slacken my wrist even a little, Bond will turn in another direction. Now, my Classic Controller clone is has impercise analogs, but even it that weren't the case, the button mapping is really awkward. Even when I adjust the settings, I can't re-map the gun button. So I am left with a critically acclaimed, unplayable game. What about other controller options? Is the Gold Classic Controller any better? How about the Zapper? Thanks!
  18. Just a few Wii things I don't need or want anymore. What's left is $120 or best offer plus shipping. Also listing locally on CL. Everything is tested and working. All games are complete except as noted. Wii console in box, two controllers, two nunchucks, all cables, most packaging. No Wii Sports or instructions. Original model with Gamecube ports. Homebrew installed. Asking $60 Wii Balance Board in box, with all risers and Wii Fit and Wii Fit Plus. Asking $30 Wii Zumba Fitness 2: Asking $5 Wii Michael Jackson: The Experience -- Special Edition. No glove. Asking $10 Wii Pirates of the Caribbean. Free with purchase. What a crappy game. Wii Ratatouille. Asking $2 Wii Fit Plus. Included with board. Gamecube Sonic Riders. No instructions Asking $8 Pokepark Wii. Made the mistake of opening this after JUST buying it sealed--it's minty. Asking $15. Gamecube Sonic Mega Collection. No Instrux. Asking $3. My Wii will not read it (flaky on some titles but this one as-is). I finally got it to read and it's fun so I'm keeping it Gamecube Super Mario Sunshine. Asking $24.
