B.U.Terriers
I got my first Atari in 1982, with Combat and Bowling. I've gotten many Combats since, so I don't know which one is the "original", the system died long ago, but still only have the one Bowling

+FujiSkunk
The first Atari game I ever played was Video Pinball. The first Atari game I played on my own 2600 was Donkey Kong.
Abman
Being fairly young (14) I just got around to playing an Atari 2600, and I'm very glad I did. The first Atari I bought (four switch, I later bought a six switch which I'm currently using) came with ten games. The first game I played was Space Invaders. It was a lot of fun. I bought it about mid last year.
CHIP72
I bought my Atari 2600 in March 1983 when I was 10 years old. In addition to getting Combat as the pack in game, I also bought Space Jockey for $6. What's kind of funny about the above is today most people think Combat was a great game and Space Jockey was a mediocre or bad game. However, I liked Space Jockey A LOT more then (and still think Space Jockey is decent now, though it is repetitive and VERY easy). Heck, to this day I don't understand everybody's love for Combat; it's a 2-player only game with too small a playfield for most variations on the cartridge IMO. Incidentally, I always liked Air Sea Battle (aka Target Fun), though the one player variations are too easy.

Keatah
For me it was 01 Combat, then most of the other early ones that started with numbers like 02 06 23 05, whatever, miniature golf, slot racers, space war, surround(my sister loved that one), hangman, basic math, sky diver, slot machine, casino, indy 500 .. Those, I got those pretty much as they came out. But the first one was combat and surround. I wore out joystics with those two games. BassGuitari
I didn't get an Atari 2600 till I was a freshman in high school in 1999. It didn't have any games with it, but a friend of mine had some in a crawlspace that he let me borrow: Combat, Space Invaders, Breakout, Super Breakout, Donkey Kong, Pac-Man, Chopper Command, Mash, and Warlords. In trying to recreate what the original Atari experience might have been like in the late '70s/early '80s, we played Combat first. It was glorious. Then came Space Invaders, I believe (2-player simultaneous is awesome, I'd never seen it in any other SI-type game before), followed by Pac-Man. I'd heard it wasn't very good, but I was excited anyway. Truth be told, we had quite a time with Pac-Man. To this day, I like Pac-Man quite a bit. About Basic Math, myself and a friend (different one) of mine actually played it for almost an hour once...and that's all I'm going to say about that. poker_plus
10 years old. Combat Space Invaders Missile Command Adventure Demon Attack I saved up my money to buy Freeway, and was deeply disappointed that there was only up/down movement. Lame! My Dad felt bad and got me Cosmic Ark which was much better. What I really was to know is if anyone had an R8 or R9 in their first batch of games. Nobody has said they started with Boing!, Springer, or Gas Hog. I never had any rare games back in the day.

I'm not saying it is rare just that I bought the only copy they had at Eckerds and my friends at the time never heard of it. Otherwise I got the same ol' games everyone else had. Obviously not a rare game, either, but for some reason, I was the only ATARI guy around with Solaris when it first came out. I don't know why, since Toys 'R' Us had a boatload of 'em. Anyone who came over and played it were just blown away by the graphics.
