moycon #1 Posted January 16, 2007 The game is tied up in limbo right now due to licenceing issues, but yes this is running on a 360. Holy crap I hope they get the issues straightened out!! Tell me this doesn't look kick ass. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=etGWugTbGwk
xenomorpher #2 Posted January 16, 2007 Wow. I never suspected a Ghostbusters game let alone one looked this amazing and fun. I hope this gets released unlike Frame City Killer.

ManShowBoy #4 Posted January 16, 2007 To be honest, that looks really lame.
Michael_ #5 Posted January 16, 2007 There are several videos there, and although there´s definitely a long way to go yet, it´s not all bad. The Venkman clip´s pretty bad though and the car scene looks a bit weird. This is prototype territory, mind you. Could be something like 25% finished for all we know. PuddWakkr #6 Posted January 16, 2007 To be honest anything in youtube "quality" video would look lame. That site is just horrid. On topic... I'd love a ghostbusters game. Don't like the updated look of the proton charges though. "WHOA WHOA WHOA Nice shootin Tex!"

Yep production was stopped on the game due to the fact they don't know if it can be released. I always liked Ghostbusters (The original flick anyways) and would welcome a game based on the premise of running around the city capturing ghosts. The last Ghostbusters game I can think of was released on the NES so it's not like the market has been saturated with GB titles. I believe the flick was the #1 comedy at the time of it's release...I definately never considered it a "snoozefest" or "lame" (Unless you're comments were directed towards an unfinished videogame that you've never played...or the second flick LOL) but to each their own. Michael_ #8 Posted January 16, 2007 Both Ghostbusters movies are great IMO. The fact that they were five years apart productionwise and still had every single key-actor come back a second time was just great. Love the movies and I´d sure as heck love to see a new Ghostbusters game sometime soon.

I do remember at that time I thought it was terrible, I kept asking...why dont they do this, or why didnt they do that. Seemed like the movie had a lot of potential that wasnt tapped. Altho there have been other movies that I was disappointed in and then later went back and actually enjoyed so maybe I need to give it another go. jetset #10 Posted January 16, 2007 You do realize the second GB flick was almost IDENTICAL in plot, sub plot, characters, etc...as the first one. It's like they couldn't think of a better plot with the writing talent they had? Whats really sad is I saw an A & E special on the day John Belushi died. Dan Akroyd was actually writing Ghostbusters, specificially lines for John's character when he got the news he had died. How cool would that have been for Belushi to have been in either or both of those flicks???
+Cobra Kai #11 Posted January 16, 2007 No, that game video looks awful in every aspect. Not only is the vid quality horrid, but the gameplay is sleep inducing.

That would have been totally cool, Bill Murray did a kick ass job though....unless Belushi was going to play the part of Egon but I just don't see that happening
+Random Terrain #13 Posted January 17, 2007 Not only is the vid quality horrid . . . How can you judge 'vid quality' on YouTube? The best looking game in the world would look like crap on YouTube.
Avid Fan #14 Posted January 17, 2007 There actually has been 1 or 2 Ghostbusters games released for GBC and GBA. I thought the video looked cool. But you cant ever judge gameplay from watching clips. I'm a huge Ghostbusters fan and would love to play a new Ghostbusters game. I loved the Activision game from C64, PC, SMS, NES. And the Genesis game rocked too. But the Gameboy ones (GBC and GBA) sucked hard
ManShowBoy #15 Posted January 17, 2007 Just play Ghostbusters II for NES.

The best looking game in the world would look like crap on YouTube. By looking at it? Yes the video quality is awful *because of youtube. Thats what I mean, I swear some of you guys have occuring brain anuerisms that block out the reading comprehension part of the mind. Bad video of this certainly doesn't help the lame point n click generic action showcased by the gameplay. Since when can't people judge a game based on gameplay video anyway? Did any of you ever see Metal Slug 3d in action? Did LOL like me? I based my correct opinion of that shit game on gameplay footage no better than this Ghostbusters schlock video in this thread. Need another example? How about This Crackdown Video for Xbox 360. Look at it, its just a small video but to me, that looks like it could be one of the worst video games of this generation. People who get excited over crap like this seriously need to put the crack down, much like the Ghostbusters (lame shootin game with cheesy 80's movie license) video. If that game was called Specter Masters this wouldn't even be a topic. Keep supporting shovelware, go ahead and reward companies for crap like this. And before anyone asks, yes I'm feeling particularly awnry today. Edited January 17, 2007 by Gunstarhero

Bad video of this certainly doesn't help the lame point n click generic action showcased by the gameplay. It seemed like you were saying that the actual graphics of the game looked like crap based on a YouTube video. Mentally adjusting for the poor quality video, it looks better than most Xbox and PS2 games. Since when can't people judge a game based on gameplay video anyway? I must have skipped someone's post that mentioned you couldn't do that, but remember that it's an "in-game movie of a Ghostbusters game prototype." To me, the video looks like it was a fairly early test of how the 'weapon' will work, how it affects the scenery and how it affects 'enemies' that pretty much just stand around since the game was not finished. Did you see how the weapon made parts of the buildings crumble at the point of contact? I've been waiting for GTA games to have that ability for years. It was 'sleep inducing' and a 'snoozefest' because it was just showing how the weapon was working up that that point in the prototype. I'd be surprised if we were seeing anything close to the finished game.

I actually encourage post like yours, that way it's easy to determine who's opinions and reviews to ignore. Thanks for your "awnry" input.
