jbanes #1 Posted January 16, 2007 (edited) I'll skip the introduction of the game since most people around here are well familiar with Thrust. What *is* of interest is that a fellow by the name of Wiebo de Wit created a new version of the game Thrust, and attempts to take it back to the Vector Display glory that preceded it. Running at resolutions as high as 1280x1024, Thrust Xtreme is a marvelous beauty that must be seen to be believed. (Trust me, screenshots don't do it justice.) http://wiebo.wordpress.com/my-pc-games/ Remember, if this makes you nastolgic for the original Thrust, you can find a copy for the Atari 2600 in the AtariAge store: http://www.atariage.com/store/index.php?ma...;products_id=37 Happy Gaming! moderntimes99 #2 Posted January 16, 2007 Being an old fan of Thrust I just had to download it and try it out. While Thrust Xtreme indeed has good visuals making the Atari 2600 version look really blocky when you switch between the two I still find that the Atari 2600 version is far better in terms of playability. The controls are much tighter and that matters in a game like this. (Also, I find the sound more suitable to the game in the Atari 2600 version.) Thomas Jentzsch #3 Posted January 16, 2007 I also tested this great looking version and just posted a reply with some suggestions. I hope the author takes the time for bringing the gameplay closer to the original.

Jacob Rose #5 Posted January 16, 2007 Damn, those vector gfx renditions are awesome looking! Yeah! From the screenshot, it looks like a fantastic job mimicking the look of vector graphics...where can we download this? Is http://members.home.nl/wdw/files/ThrustXtreme11.zip the right version? Rob Mitchell #7 Posted January 19, 2007 Altough I love Thrust .... I read Thomas' reply .. and I guess I would be disappointed. Has anyone tried this game with the Stelladaptor? I can see this one with a Starplex 5 button controller! Rob Mitchell
