Is the 360 your first Xbox?

Recommended Posts

According to this article, Microsoft believes that over half of their Xbox 360 sales are to people who didn't buy an original Xbox. So, I figured I'd take the question to the masses... Is the 360 your first Xbox?

I myself did not have an Xbox until I bought my 360.

Technically, my 360 is my 2nd Xbox. I bought a modded original Xbox with a 160 gig hard drive in October to give to my kids for Christmas. I was going to stay out of next-gen until next Christmas. But Micro Center was running that $100 rebate on the 360 and since I had some extra money I didn't know I would be getting, I bought it. I still have the modded Xbox, but we haven't really played it much due to spending too much time on the 360.

If you consider all of them Xbox's.. then it's probably my 11th or so. I have scored three 360's (only currently own 1 though.. gave away 2) and I can't count how many Xbox's I've gone through. I currently own approximately 7

Nope. I bought my 1st Xbox 2 months before 360 launched and bought a 360 2 month after it launched. I was long time PS2 owner with Ninja Gaiden envy.

Xbox at Launch, too numerous to count how many Xbox's have come and gone, currently have 3 hooked up. 360 at Launch, in April the boy will be getting one for his birthday, and when Halo 3 comes out the third will be purchased.

I was a bigtime XBOX skeptic, choosing the Cube at launch time because I thought that would have what I wanted. When Jet Set Radio Future came out, I bucked, and the big black box soon became my console of choice for the next four years.

The XBOX 360 is my 2nd XBOX system.

Soon after I bought the 360, I snagged a 2ndhand oldtime XBOX and upgraded it with a leopard skin sticker set, 200GB hard drive, XBOX Media Center as the default dashboard, dozens of emulators, and a little bit of homebrew. It's nice to be able to use the XBOX as a game jukebox.

I have all 3 hooked up still, but the black XBOX is getting less and less play as more games become backwards compatible on 360.

The 360 isnt my first Xbox but I got my first Xbox around the time the Green Halo version was released.

Starscream hooked me up with one and I was very impressed with it.

The 360 I got in March and it has quickly became one of my favorite consoles.

I got the original Xbox about 1 to 1 1/2 years after it came out and was real impressed. I got my 360 in a month ago. Great systems...

I bought my first Xbox in April 2005, brand new from Meijer. Believe it or not, Psychonauts was the Xbox X-clusive that made me decide to take the plunge. It was silly, surreal, and smartly written, exactly the kind of game I wanted to encourage developers to make. Unfortunately for me, Psychonauts didn't stay an Xbox exclusive for long... and unfortunately for its designers, I must have been the only one on Earth to buy the game at its full price.

My second Xbox was procured from a Napoleon Dynamite lookalike standing outside GameStop. They wouldn't take his system because it was flaky and didn't have any controllers, but I didn't care... I bought it from him for $25, which I'm pretty sure he later invested in weed. I took the Xbox home, cleaned it up, and got it working, then gave it to my brother as a Christmas gift. That worked out pretty well until a thunderstorm shocked my brother's box last year, leaving it inoperable.

My most recent Xbox acquisition was a used Xbox 360 core unit. Well, it was a core unit when it left the factory... the previous owners added a hard drive and a wireless controller before selling it to a used game store. The Xbox 360 is one of the gems of my console collection, and easily my favorite of the three next-gen systems.

I was more than a little angry when Microsoft first announced that it was entering the console market six years ago, but now I'm actually glad they're around to offer a valid alternative to the Playstation, and to hold Sony's feet to the fire.

I have 2 regular Xboxs... One I bought early after release and the other had a drive die and was given to me, so I had it modded.

And I have one 360...

Great systems...

I got a regular Xbox about three years ago. I softmodded it last year and did something stupid. After that little incident I bought another Xbox and softmodded it and knew not to do something if I didn't know what it would do. I got a 360 March last year from moycon through Starscream and I have been loving it more and more each day ever since. A couple months ago I bought a cosmetically modded Xbox very cheap for system link games. I'm going to put a chip in my first Xbox to swap the hard drive in order to fix it. This way I will be able to have four system link game matches, mostly Star Wars Battlefront II.

Nope, I got an original XBox in 2004. Unfortunately, that day part of the subway line I would've ridden to the Best Buy I got it from was out, so I had to lug it to the next station. I thought I was gonna get a hernia! XD

Yes I owned an original X box but I was a late bloomer to the system, bought it 2 years ago after the price drop. I also own a 360 that was a gift. I like it a lot but I honestly would not have bought one until a price cut. $400 is just too much for a system in my opinion. I am also I am getting a Wii and never plan on owning a PS3 if that counts for anything in this inquiry :)
