Rom Hunter #3 Posted January 20, 2007 Again: where can I download the 2006 entries for the VCS?
Thomas Jentzsch #4 Posted January 20, 2007 Usually under "Previous Years", but the link seems dead. You should send a message to the admin.
SeaGtGruff #5 Posted January 20, 2007 Is this strictly a games-only contest? I do have several ideas for game submissions, but I'd also like to see if I can do an Atari 2600 alarm clock calendar program in 1K, or 2K at the most. Michael

But since the "gameplay" (which IMO is a very important criteria) will become pretty weak, don't expect to score high.
Dragnerok X #7 Posted January 21, 2007 (edited) The 2007 compo has just been announced. Sweet! Another project to add to my never-ending to-do list!!! I'll see what I can do. Edited January 21, 2007 by Dragnerok X

+atari2600land #11 Posted February 2, 2007 Well, here it is, February 2, and still no game upload page. (I don't have a game ready yet, but I thought it was supposed to begin yesterday.)
vdub_bobby #12 Posted February 2, 2007 Shocking. The minigame compo is a fantastic idea, but the execution hasn't been real great while I've been around.

vdub_bobby #14 Posted February 2, 2007 The minigame compo is a fantastic idea, but the execution hasn't been real great while I've been around. Maybe you could help organizing? I don't know that they necessarily need better organizing; better forum/form/web software and better hosting would fix 90% of what's wrong with it. Thomas Jentzsch #15 Posted March 21, 2007 There are already some submissions including several 2600 games.
Cybergoth #16 Posted March 21, 2007 Did you already try the C16 entry? Looks suspiciously like a Bosconian clone, no?

Cybergoth #18 Posted March 21, 2007 I'll try it tonight, if I don't forget it. I'm currently trying to unearth a possibly existing NES version of Wizball, a treasure hunt which is stealing most of my attention
+batari #19 Posted March 27, 2007 Does anyone know when the deadlines are? I've scoured the Minigame website to no avail.
vdub_bobby #20 Posted March 27, 2007 They're on the Rules page: 1k category, this will run until 31st July 2007, 10pm GMT time the 2k size category will run until August 31st, 10pm GMT the 4k size will run until September 30th, 10pm GMT

IMO, that minigame website needs some serious reworking. At the very least, "Rules" and "FAQ" should be in the "General" category and not in "Misc" below a half-dozen links to previous compos. And the revision history on the main page is really out of place - at the least, it should be on the bottom with something more meaningful on top, like a description of the compo, its history and why we do it. Cybergoth #23 Posted March 27, 2007 Just to follow up on the C16 entry, it's no Bosconian clone, but still worth a try
newcoleco #24 Posted May 3, 2007 (edited) I have no idea what kind of minigame project to do for the compo. Each year, there are more shooting games, platform games and puzzle games than anything else in the top 10. My wish is more votes and comments than last year.
