Arcade black light carpeting? Anyone know a good place to buy it?

Recommended Posts

There's an area of my basement I would like to put some of that cool black light carpet down in but I have no idea where to buy this stuff. I cold called a few local places and tried doing a search but didn't really find anything good. You guys know of a good place? If so it would be awesome :) Thanks man

What is black light carpeting?

I believe he is talking about the carpet that has certain colors or patterns that show up when blacklights are put on. Think of a white shirt with a blacklight on.

Sorry man I have no idea where to find it.

This place is all I could find. It's pretty much what I'm looking for.

They use to only sell area rugs to my knowledge but it looks like they have a price for sq ft now so maybe I'll have to give them a call :)

Oh that. A lot of bowling alleys have that now for when they do 'Cosmic Bowling'. You should go to a bowling alley that has that and ask them where they bought theirs locally, instead of having it shipped to you.

That is a sweet idea man, shipping is what I was worried about. It can't be cheap to ship a roll of carpet. Thanks man :)

Well if you're going to get black light carpet you're going to need black lights I hear that using white black lights were better because they gave off more light. Here's a place to buy fixtures and what not. https://ssl.adhost.com/noveltylights/mercha...d=46&step=4

As for places to get black light carpet :

http://www.coastalrugs.com/webstore/Area%2...blacklight.html

http://e-carpet.com/commercial/amusement-n...tm2jajpkcodi256

http://www.ravecarpet.com/neonprints.html

I have a huge archive of web pages that I have been collection for over a year now I haven't used any of those places but there are a few suppliers and some more choices in carpet designs for you.

You are right about that!

I've got a couple of the cheap ones laying around and when they do decide to work they always flicker horribly....I'm learning you get what you pay for in the blacklight world :)

You can buy regular flourescent light fixtures for about $8 at Home Depot. Home Depot also sells GE or Philips full size black light tubes. Forget those ones Spencer Gifts sells.
