edweird13 #1 Posted January 27, 2007 I got a unknown M-Network game today and it doesnt work in my 7800. I have read that Kool Aid man doesnt work properly in later 7800 models. Do all M-Network games have issues with the 7800 or just certain ones? Is there anyway to find out what game it is because I dont have a 2600.

+Mitch #3 Posted January 27, 2007 Kool Aid Man doesn't work in some 7800s and 2600s because Atari had a batch of buggy TIA chips that crashed the game. As far as I know that's the only game it affected. Your cartridge may just need a good cleaning. Mitch
edweird13 #4 Posted January 27, 2007 I cleaned the contacts but that didn't help.
+Mitch #5 Posted January 27, 2007 I cleaned the contacts but that didn't help. It's possible the game is dead, I have had a few of those over the years. Mitch
edweird13 #6 Posted January 27, 2007 I do get some red vertical lines of different sizes but thats it. Oh well I only payed 50 cents for it.
shadow460 #7 Posted January 28, 2007 The cart may either have a dead ROM or internal ring cracks. If you're handy with a soldering iron, you can fix ring cracks. That'll save you buying a replacement, which you might wind up paying more than 50 cents for.

Atari Dogs #9 Posted January 28, 2007 heres some pics of the cart I have never seen an M-Network board and chip. Looks pretty cool, much cooler than the Atari ones I have seen. Who hasn't broken open an extra Combat or Football to see what was inside?
edman87k5 #10 Posted January 28, 2007 I recently bought a small lot of m network games and all worked except kool aid man and burgertime. The burgertime only gets a few lines on screen, no matter what. The kool aid man would come up on screen, but do noothing else. After asking here, I found out that the diff switch is a pause for kool aid. Still no luck with burgertime. BTW, I opened a few m network carts and there were several different boards ranging fron tiny to almost fillingh the whole case.
Starhopper #11 Posted January 28, 2007 heres some pics of the cart I've broken one open before and none of mine look like that. Those are pretty slick looking
