Rambling With Rogmeister - Ending My Game Collections...Sort Of

Recommended Posts

I've pretty much decided that I will stop collecting games for my PS2, GameCube and Xbox when my collection reaches 100 games for each system. Those are the main systems I'm still buying games for (along with the Nintendo DS portable system) though I buy a game for an earlier system once in awhile. For instance, I did get one Super Nintendo game last month.

My GameCube and Xbox collections are the furthest along. I have 76 games now for my Xbox and 78 games now for my GameCube...I do have a few more GameCube titles on order so once those come in I will have 20 games to get for that system. There's very few games coming anymore for that system so I can basically check out the games already released to decide what games to get now to finish off this collection. I like platform games, FPS, 3rd person adventure games and certain puzzle games so I'll probably look towards those genres for the most part in regard to finishing my collection. I'm not sure how many Xbox games are still coming out. Perhaps I should go get those Burger King games to add go my collection? Maybe not.

My PS2 collection is somewhat smaller...I only have 55 games for it but my 56th is on order...a country music version of Karaoke Revolution. I was kind of surprised they came out with an all-country version of this game. I've never bought any of this series but I figure this would be a good time to get one since I do like country music and this is probably the only time you'll see a country music video game. I wonder how well it sold? Then again, I imagine the karoake games might have some appeal outside of the regular video gamers.

If I ever do finish off these collections by getting 100 titles each, I can then concentrate solely on my Nintendo DS collection. So far, I have just 8 games for it...well, 11 if you count my 3 GBA games...
