I just got ghostbusters for $2.00 CIB. One question, should I open it. If I do, how do I play it? Any Tips? I've never played the game before and just bought it because it was rare, but now it looks kinda fun.

Try a rom image of it first, though. That way you won't kill yourself later for opening a boring, yet rare, game. That or sell it on ebay and let some other sucker do it!

If you think you might regret opening it, by all means print out the manual and try it on an emulator first. This is a "need to read the manual" game, because there's a console switch you need to use during the game, which is completely non-obvious.

 

If you do open it, of course you'll have the original manual, so you won't need that printout anymore.

Thanks Guys, I just downloaded the ROM and the manual. I will see if I like it and then decide if I want to open it.

The game's not all that hard to find nekid, if you've got a sealed copy, I'd keep it that way, as those are pretty rare.

 

I have an open one, and the game really needs the manual to be played, at least the first time. After you figure out how to get through the menues, and drop the marshmellow man bait, it's pretty easy to go through. And it's kinda fun, though I liked it better for other systems.

Good game at the beginning, though you need to buy everything at the beginning of the game. When the PK meter starts getting really fast, that's when you need to drop the ghost-hunting and just wait for the times to drop the ghost bait to draw Stay-Puft away from a building.

I just scored a CIB copy myself and it was a little harder to track down than I thought. I found it on Ebay and I think I paid about 20 bucks for it. Two dollars is a steal since there were more than a couple bids on the one I won. Killer buy man

I've never trapped the StayPuft marshmallow man.

How does one do that?

I don't think you can trap the Marshellow man. The bait is just to lead him away from buildings. If I remember right, you flip the right difficulty switch to use it, and he just runs off screen.

The bait is to prevent the marshmallow man from destroying part of the city and costing you valuable points. At the end of the game it is frustrating for he comes more often and you have far less time to lay the bait to prevent destruction

You must also become consistant at running under the marshmallow man. This awards high points and ultimately keeps you in the game even if you had a bad round of trapping slimers. It'll make your quest for 1 million points quicker too.
