Trac Floppy Drives

I have 2 Trac floppy drives I am trying to test them to see if they work. I apply power to them and what are they supposed to do? light up or anything? There is no power switch.

I have a Trak. Actually I had two "bad" Trak's and made one "good" one. My Trak has a power switch, but the power switches apparently failed fairly frequently, so I have seen them "bypassed" or with an add-on. However, the original power switch is actually behind the Trak emblem on the front -- a "soft" pushbutton.

 

If yours powers up properly, it should "seek" to track zero, like any other Atari floppy.
