Atari ST using a pc serial mouse

Has anyone managed to make this work? There's a driver floating on the net, but it seems to have a problem. I tell it to read 'serial port 1', and it defaults to reading modem 1 (Always). The only way I could get it to read serial port 1 was by using it under steem (and it only did it when I tried tos 2.06). In other words, it wouldn't work under the tos 1.0 that my 1040 st has unless I use modem 1 as the port for my mouse, which I cant
