Free (for 2 weeks) HD South Park

Recommended Posts

March 5, 2007 - With the 11th season of South Park starting back up on Wednesday, Comedy Central and Xbox 360 are teaming together to give fans of the series a treat: a free high definition episode of South Park. Starting tomorrow (March 6th) Xbox Live members will be able to download the fan favorite episode "Good Times with Weapons," but the promotion will only be available for two weeks. This will be the first time that South Park has been rendered in HD, and fans with Xbox Live accounts will be the first to see the cleanest and sharpest picture possible.

If you don't have an Xbox 360 or an Xbox Live account, you can still nab a copy of this episode on HD-DVD from Best Buy. Between the dates of March 20th and April 3rd, Best Buy will be giving a free copy of the HD episode to customers who purchase an Xbox 360 console or an HD-DVD Drive for the system.

Sweet. Loved that episode too! I wonder if there will be a dramatic improvement in the picture though. It IS South Park after all.

Well, they're the sharpest circles and squiggly lines I've ever seen!

I wish they would have offered Heroes or even Lost instead, but hey, free is free! And this IS a pretty good South Park episode.

(Are they EVER going to offer Heroes on Xbox Live Marketplace?)

It is also widescreen. First time I have ever seen a widescreen episode of South Park. And I thought the episode was pretty funny.

Snagged it. Watched it once (about the nth time I've seen that episode). I haven't deleted it, but it wouldn't be a problem to do so. I'm glad it was free because paying extra cash for tv shows is pretty stupid :P

It was a good episode to me. It's not the best, but wasn't bad either. HD definate makes every look cleaner, but obviously South Park can never really be a showcase for the quality of HD.
